I had a very vivid memory of cleaning my room when I was a kid. I played MK Trilogy on the PS1 when I took a break and just kind of left it on running in the background. It still weird me out to this day that I have such a clear memory about it.
You may have seen some concept art for the stage, because that was part of it! Here's a video I did on the Dead Pool stage. Tell me if this matches your memory: czcams.com/video/CDE0JI3r6Qw/video.html
I also had a memory of when you get to Shao Kahn on the Champion ladder in UMK3 there would be a cutscene of Shao Kahn Smashing Ermac with his Hammer before the fight started.
Raiden: This...this has happened before! Ah, shucks, must be a false memory. Liu Kang: No, I feel like I remember that, too. Why was I barefoot that one time though?
A classic MK mandela effect is that many remember a stage fatality in the living forest stage in MK2 where your opponent is eaten by one of the trees however no such fatality exists.
@@cameronjohnson9361In Shaolin Monks, you can defeat your enemies by getting them eaten by the trees in the Living Forest. In Mortal Kombat (2011), there is a Stage Fatality where the enemy is eaten by a tree in that stage.
I actually have one. My brother showed me back on the SNES version of MK2 sometimes when you knock people into the Dead Pool they hit the wall with a comical "BONG" and then just slip into the water. Later when I grew up and tried it a million times, it never happened. I think my brain imagined it happening cuz I was so young.
Man...Kahn's demise, the red dragon Fatality, ET and the bicycle... I wish they WERE actually real. If I come across any false memories of mine, I'll show them here. Reminds me of AVGN's Berenstein Bears vid, especially being in an alternate universe.
Since I was a kid I somehow kept remembering the Armory Stage in MKII having a fatality where you uppercut them unto the weapons Yet it doesnt exist, idk where I got it from
Shao Kahn falling into the water below sounds like the end of Donkey Kong Country 2, because that’s exactly what happens to Kaptain K. Rool on the world map
The weird thing is the examples people give of something similar happening (Killer Instinct, Donkey Kong Country 2) are all Nintendo exclusives. But this shared false memory seems to be common only to Sega players. Makes it that much harder to tie them together!
That red dragon fatality is what replaced Liu Kang's normal dragon in the Gameboy version. Definitely changed because of the need to have different leg sprites for each fighter so instead he just breathes fire and they explode into bones just like Scorpions Fatality
I remember that when I was a kid, I saw a magazine that showed a yellow Melinna, I just can't remember the name they gave her, but I was so infatuated by that character, that I even made one with clay. I can't tell if that came from an actual game, since it was just a magazine photo attached to a mk3 article.
A false memory I have of Mortal Kombat 3 is that it was possible to do Stage Fatality in the Jade Desert. In this case, you hooked the opponent and he fell into the sand, which acted like quicksand and "swallowed" the character. During the early 2000s, this was a certainty in my head and I was perplexed when I learned that it was just a created memory from myself.
It makes sense when you think about how Cyrax is just there in the background wasting away half-submerged in the sand. In fact, I'm pretty sure that I at least wondered if a stage fatality was possible there, myself, at one point specifically cuz of what I mentioned above.
I think the Shao Kahn falling memory might be a confusion with the normal ending to Donkey Kong Country 2, which is almost spot on for detailing what happens except the water isn't red.
I always remembered Reptile saying "Make like a tree and leaf me be!" in the forest in Deceptions Konquest instead of "Leave me be!" but apparently not
@@tabmok99 haha, that's wild. I saw "Leaf me be false memories" a while ago on an MK iceberg and I was like "wait I totally remember him saying that too"
@@tabmok99Really? Did you plant this comment on a GameFAQs thread way back in the day or something? 😂 It was on the iceberg vid I created, I had no idea you originally conceived of it, awesome
I will check out your iceberg video! In the meantime, here is the original screenshot I doctored up: tabmok99.mortalkombatonline.com/mkd-reptile-pun.html Someone (I don't know who) made a gif of it. People have even used it as a reaction gif to me!
I distinctly remember Johnny Cage in the SNES port of MKII having a red Shadow Uppercut. I also remember a scenario in MKD's Konquest mode; after "training" with Mileena in Outworld, you could approach one of the Tarkatans, and he'll say that "Mileena is as beautiful as she is deadly. One day I will make her my woman!". I've played Konquest numerous times since then, and I've never heard that line again.
Red shadow uppercut is real, it's just a "glitch" (pretty sure it's either random or happens after a certain number or normal shadow kicks and/or shadow uppercuts and just made to look like a glitch).
The only Mandela Effect thing that really gets me going isn't MK-related... It's the Fruit Of The Loom logo. A couple years ago, I learned that apparently the Fruit Of The Loom logo has NEVER featured a cornucopia. Never. This blows my mind, because I 100% remember that damn cornucopia! The "Bearenstein/Bearenstain Bears" thing, I can put down to me misreading it as a stupid kid, but that cornucopia really keeps me up at night.
@@airic21 Well I know the company exists lol - it's whether or not there ever was a cornucopia in their logo that's the issue! According to their official webpage, there never has been - but I know I remember it, and i'm not alone lol
I remember seeing a screenshot of the red dragon Liu Kang fatality in a magazine in the 90's. I remember seeing, the screenshot, next to a photo of the Fergality that Raiden performs in MK2. I did not read the article, I just remember seeing the red dragon Liu Kang in that magazine.
I have a false memory of sheeva turning into a spider and eating the opponent. The spider was different from the one that Kano turns into, it had Sheeva's face. I also have a fake memory of the stage that this supposedly happened and of the character selection screen. The stage looked like a street, but different enough from the normal street stage in Mk3. The character selection screen was Slimmer and scorpion was selectable. I looked this up for YEARS, and I finally accepted that this is a total fake memory.
DUDE I also remember an unexisting street-like stage but in Genesis Umk3, it was a night street with a grey wall of bricks in the middle and u can see the night sky but clearly it doesnt exist.
@aphonos6248 I remember something similar, like metal pieces used in construction sites (I don't know how they're called) in some parts of the stage. It was at night too. Crazy
I think a big part of this is all the rumors we constantly heard on the playground during the days of these older games. We heard them so much, our minds make us think we remember seeing it ourselves
My number one pet hate was when people thought Dan Forden was saying 'Whoopsy!' instead of what he actually says 'TOASTY!'. There were many debates in the school playground about this. Although it was pretty easy to prove once they did Scorpions alt-Fire Breath Fatality in MKII.
For a long period of time after the game’s initial release, I could swear I recall Shao Kahn standing from his chair and walking forward to begin the final fight after Kintaro was defeated (in a similar fashion to Goro dropping from the ceiling in MK one, on your fist attempt fighting him). I was able to prove myself wrong pretty quickly, but I’ll never forget the fact that I so vividly remembered something so false.
Huh, that could've been in a beta version, like the one where baraka still has his blade spin move. They sent these out for public testing but never recalled them. You might have been playing on a beta cabinet!
I have a weird false memory (i think). Back in the day sometime in the mid 2000's i was at a friends house and they had a mk game that i though was for the snes, it was VERY similar to mk2. I distinctly remember mileena without her mask on being part of the game but dont remember anything else about it. I also remember asking to borrow the game which they did let me but it didnt work in my own super nintendo, my father also told me it wasnt going to work so maybe i was confused and it was a bootleg system or something. i probably wasnt even 10 at the time but i always think about this weird mk game that i have never seen ever again
MK Has many Mandela Effect: 1)Ermac in MK1 (many people swore they saw Scorpion colored in Red), but there is no way to trigger that. Despite debunking, many people still believe that Scorpion could have been glitched in red. 2)SNES port of MK1 having a Blood Code (no, only the SEGA Genesis had it, while the SEGA CD was uncensored) 3)Shang Tsung and Goro having hidden Fatalities in MK (both of them never had one, but Shang Tsung's one was planned) 4)All the characters having three Fatalitiesin MK 2 (Only Shang Tsung had three, with Sub-Zero having two variations to the same Fatality) 5) Secret fights against Jade could be triggered by Johnny Cage only (false myth: it was easier with Johnny due to Jump low kick>shadow kick combo and many discovered it by serendipity; all you have to do is to win the first round with directional inputs and low kicks only) 6)Johnny Cage having the otomix logo in the early MK 2 builds (not true, it was removed from most sprites due to licensing issues; however, the brand is still visibile on Cage's pants when Shang Tsung performs his Soul Steal Fatality) 7)Jax having his own arms ripped off by hiw own Fatality (just a fake rumor created by a magazine preview, but many thought it was real) 8)Arcade MK 4 having Goro as sub boss (not true, Goro was added to the PC and console version; it makes you question how many people really played MK 4 at the arcades) 9)Arcade MK 4 having FMV endings (again, PSX, DC and PC exclusives, Arcade and N64 versions had in-engine endings) 10) All characters from MK Trilogy having endings (the bosses and Chameleon had no endings excluding a generic "X wins".) 11) Noob Saibot in Arcade UMK 3 (he was playable only on the unreleased Wavenet version) 12) Reptilians. Reptile's people were named Raptors and more recently Zaterrian, but Reptilians was a very widespread name in the community. 13) MK Trilogy being released BEFORE MK: Mythologies (it was the other way around, as many endings from that games features details taken from MK Mythologies) 14) MK: Annihilation and MK: Special Forces almost killing the MK Franchise: not true at all, MK was always Midway's cash cow. MK as a franchise was never put on a hiatus, Midway just provided Renderware Engine to their Chicago-based Team and gave them a few extra months to develop a new fighting game, on a new engine on fifth gen platforms, ditching arcades. Also, ordered them to keep the same engine for the entirety of the generation. 15) Midway forcing a yearly release of new MK games starting from 2004: not true, Shaolin Monks was the exception because it was worked by a different team (ex Paradox). In 2007 there was no new MK game, excluding the Wii port of Armageddon and Ultimate MK on DS (a collection of UMK3 + puzzle kombat taken from Deception) 16) Taven using a bow in MK Armageddon (it was shown in a trailer, but no proof of it in the game, except a few bugged animations that were cut) 17) Kano's disfigured face being inspired by a Terminator scene(debunked by Tobias multiple times) 18) Daniel Pesina being fired from Midway for the Blood Storm advertisement, when in reality it was mostly due to his behaviour and for suing Midway. The real reason is that he was annoying during the development of MK 2, tried to bank himself as co-creator of some characters, moves and ideas, was paid on Midwa's behalf for signing merchandise despite not working for Midway nor being a spokeperson. That's what is stated in the "Long Live MK book".
It wasn't a fault memory but a story my brother made up. He said he saw sub-zero in the Arcade version of the game turn into a bear and eat the person. Now he told me this story wayyyy before MK 3 was released. However I later found out he made it up but what I did find interesting about this story was how well traveled it went. It from Ocala FL..ALLLLLL The way to Midway.. because in mk 3.. that's what he does!!.. Always found it funny!
The Pit II Fatality, Shao Khan falling from the Kombat Plan mountain and Liu Kang's Red Dragon all have been made in MUGEN. It is possible that people remembering those saw MUGEN footage and thought it to be part of the official game, or mixed it up with memories of the original.
I remember two very distinctly different versions in arcades of MK2 back in the day. One is the version we're all likely familiar with and can find on youtube easily. The other was a much crisper looking version where Sub Zero's Freeze / uppercut fatality was much more detailed, and the freeze animation would include a slide forward if you did it right then you could buffer the second part from the first. The ground freeze, and character freeze animations also looked a lot different / more detailed. Granted this was forever ago as an arcade cab in a Wal-Mart but it's something i've never forgotten about because no one else I talked to since then has ever run into it.
I have two. I borrowed for a time an MK3 copy for my SNES and got used to L for run and R for block. But when I got my own copy I notice these buttons were inverted. At first I changed it in the options menu, but it caused me trouble when fighting everyone else. Because in every copy L was for block and R was for run and till this day I couldn't find evidence of the existence of copies of MK3 that had these inverted like the first one I played, that one I borrowed. First time EVER I saw MK Trilogy was in an arcade machine that I even played. But this port never existed. And yeah, I know there were people that put home consoles inside arcade machines (it happened often here in Argentina) but I recalled this MKT having Goro and Kintaro and no loading times, so it couldn't have been an N64 nor a PS1.
I'm very certain that I played a MK1 arcade version when I was a kid, where the courtyard stage had a black night sky. Never been able to find that version ever since.
You didn't imagine this. There is an unofficial hack of Mortal Kombat 1 where this happens. Some other differences In this version include that Sub-Zero has lightning around his body like Raiden does, and Reptile says something like "Watch it! I will fool you!"
Ive experienced quite a few Mandela Effects with the dialogue of Final Fantasy VII. I know that game like the back of my hand, or so I thought I did. There are quite a few examples where certain things the characters say is noticeably different from how I remember it. I'm so firm in the belief that the dialogue did change and my memory of it not false. I even went so far as to see if different ports had altered dialogue but even the original PS1 version is different from how I remember it. I still feel a bit shook over it whenever I really think about it.
@@Narcomancer1943 during the Nibelheim flashback when Sephiroth stabs Cloud he apparently says "Don't...push it.." However I very vividly remember the line actually being "Don't..push...your luck.." I cant remember the others now that I'm put on the spot but I'll give it some thought and come back to add more.
I remember thinking there was a hidden unlock of a white palette ninja called spider whose abilities were web based & had fatalities where they turned into a giant spider & ate opponents.
Here’s mine: in the mk annihilation movie, in the scene where jade said “it was so easy” Liu kang said something. For me, I always thought he said, “Your not coming with us, we will leave you here” or something. However, rewatching the movie, he said something different
ooh! i got one! When i was very little, i was watching my cousins and sisters playing the snes version of Mk 2. Do you know how Shao Kahn is at the top of the challenge tower pumping his right fist up in a victory pose? just like here 2:36 ? I swear i saw him holding in his raised fist a magical staff with a red crystal ball on its tip, he was holding it up vertically like it was excalibur or something. But then i never saw it again, i figured you gotta do some sort of code to make it appear, but nah, i never saw anyone talking about it or mentioning it anywhere and i never saw it again neither on my cart of MK2 nor on any other version of the game. I guess i must have dreamt it up. 🤷
I have a few false memories from MK2 on SNES from when I was a kid. I remember the first time I saw Reptile do his head chomp fatality on my sister after defeating her... and I know this is a false memory but back when I was a kid I remember him laughing as he took his mask off then lashing out his tongue for the fatality as normal. The most bizarre one by far though was again while watching my sister play MK2 on SNES I could've swore Jax ended up killing her before her health bar was even depleted by uppercutting her head off. Not sure why I have those false memories... but I guess that's just what little kid me saw at the time. Was never the same after seeing that head chomp fatality... scared me shitless. Took me till my teenage years to finally get around to trying the series myself... and I'm glad I did as it's one of my favorites.
I remember in MKII if I perform Johnny Cage's Shadow Uppercut many times, if I'm lucky like the Shadow Kick Johnny will emit a Red Shadow Uppercut instead of the normal Green Shadow Uppercut. Though I remember it back then, if I try this method again various time in this lifetime I never seem to make it work again. Maybe it's just false memories. I try it on SNES, Arcade, PS1, and Saturn versions with no success. The Genesis version doesn't count cause in that version every shadow that Johnny does is red.
I have a weird mixed memory of a Shang tsung fatality in MK2, where he turns into Goro and grab his/her enemy's arms and rip them off (a mix of the Kintaro transformation with Jax's fatality I guess) but I swear I had this in my head for maaaany years.
When I was a kid I always thought that in MK2 Kung Lao had a fatality where he pulled a rabbit out of his hat and it attacked his opponent. I'm pretty sure I was just mixing my memories of his Shaolin Monks fatality with Kitana's animality.
Kung Lao's Friendship in MKII he does pulls a rabbit out of his hat. In UMK3 Kitana has an Animality where she turns into a rabbit and eats her opponent. Sounds like you mixed these 2 finishing moves together. That's easy to do because the animation of the rabbit is probably of the same source since the hardware of MK2 and UMK3 are almost the same.
I remember watching someone perform a Babality on the opponent and then watching the character walk up to the baby, uppercutting it into a splash of blood.
I'm guessing the false memory of Shao Khan falling off the bridge is based on playing Mortal Kombat Trilogy against Shao Khan in co-op vs mode in Shao Khan's bridge stage, where you can knock him off the bridge. But instead of landing in a lake of blood, he (and every other character) lands in rotating blades that shred him up into a bloody mess.
My "false memory" is in an early revision of MKII Baraka had a fatality very similar to his blade impaling one but instead he just sliced em up like his special move that he does on the ground except for this fatality he sliced em up while standing and having the victim held in the air by the blades.
just because only one person has the memory doesn't mean it's not a mandela effect. there are tons of mandela effects that I can see, but most people cannot.
OK this is gonna be interesting. But I saw (human) raiden in real life! I am not lying I was too little and I was walking through a street with my dad and elder brother in the evening. Then we saw a person, with a hat like raiden's, and this man's eyes were bright/shining white like him. On the hat, there was electric current/flow. This man was reading newspaper. I horrified back then and asked my father "who is it?" , he replied me "let's change our way" so we went from another way. I have been talking about this to my little brother for years, but he is kinda suspicious.
I could swear your opponent would scream in fear and terror while being spun around and the camera would dramatically zoom in their face when you did the fan fatality in mk4 I played the game again as a grown up after a decade and just thought my copy was broken when I saw none of that happening
I have a revision 9.1 arcade board & will check this out. Meanwhile, can you give me more info on the red dragon & bone hat fatals? Were they meant to be in rev 9.1 or another hack?
lol would it be crazy if my animations gave someone a Mandela Effect? I mean, I've always seen people confusing my animations and say "I don't remember this from the game" or "How do you perform this?" or "Which MK Mugen game?". 🤭
I remember playing one of the console ports of mk2 on an emulator and beating the game with an infinite health cheat When I beat Kahn on round 2 tho, the game took me to another stage and said round 3. Shao Kahn was standing in the center of the screen turned into a statue, and before I could hit him the game took me to another stage with a round 4 text where the same thing happened. I went like that for a few more rounds before I simply closed the game Of course, this makes no sense. Why would the game have graphics for any rounds beyond 3? Maybe it was just a dream. Either that or I accidentally stumbled into a troll hack or something, idk
When you beat Shao Kahn in MKII, he says "no, No, NO! "turns to stone, then the game cycles through all the stages before he explodes back in the Arena stage. No round text or announcement though.
I remember fighting the guy that shows when you do Fergality on Mk2 sega! He had the hook and he was smoking like Smoke. Edit: the fight was always on the portal stage.
The Shao Kahn falling off the Tower thing, I think I've seen it before, but only as an animation video of some kind. I wonder if the said people seen that and are remembering it wrong. Just saw someone mentioning DKC2 boss ending. Maybe I'm crossing memories lol.
I remember i had a list of fatalities in that list included Liu Kang red dragon fatality sub-zero polar bear fatality Jax hole to hell fatality and more
I had a false memory of MK2. I remember seeing the stage hook fatality on the dead pool on the snes. That when you perform the stage fatality it would land on the hook spit the person in two. Also that could do a stage fatality on the tower stage. Similar to pit 2 fatality but the ground was pink not grey. I think that might have been a game genie code that changed the stage fatality. I can't be sure on that one.
There were all kinds of Deadpool rumors about uppercutting a body onto the hooks, and one rumor even said it unlocked Kano. After the body caught on the hook, the doors at the end of the stage opened, n Kano ran out to fight you.
Happened to me remembering The Pit, from the Genesis version, where instead of the moon it was the earth in the sky so i thought they were in space, and yeah i thought that was ridiculous because how could they breath in space?. Turns out that becuase the Genesis verion has inferior graphics the sky was black instead of that blue-ish night that the arcade game has and my false memory of thinking that it was the earth and not the moon created this, well not a mandela effect because i never hear or read anyone claiming that there was a Pit stage in space, false memory. So i made it real with a basic stage editor xD
I have a distinct memory that the Tarkata were called Tarakata, and so much so that I could have sworn on it. I even made a video this year or late last year complaining about how they changed it to Tarkata and Tarkatans. I asked AI about it and it told me there was no such thing. I actually went back to MK DECEPTION to see for myself and I found that I was wrong, it was Tarkata all along.
the red dragon was a glitch or something i think, havent seen it but read it in an old egm or gamepro or something, but might have been like a rainbow edition fake arcade machine
Hey are you the same tabok from a great book called “long live mortal kombat, round 1” if so, glad to of found you! Also, I do remember the et one you had as well as I remember seeing mortal combat with a C at the broadway arcade back when I was a kid, must’ve been a false memory😂
Yes, that's me! Love that book, and really glad you found me too! Mortal Combat with a C.... I want to say that can't be real, but some arcade operator could have made their own custom marquee. You never know!
In the Gameboy version of MK2, Liu does in fact turn into a Dragon that spits fire and blows you up. There's gameplay footage out there that isn't in black & white, but green/white & red/white as well. Tho I'm not sure if that is a Gameboy Color feature that can potentially change the palette of a standard Gameboy Game.
Game Boy Color didn't come out until 1998, but yeah, it could add some color to the older games. I think that Fatality was also in the Game Gear version?
@@HelpTheWretched never looked into the game gear version, but as far as I have seen, there are red/white screens in some Gameboy specific playthroughs on YT where the dragon would definitely be red. That’s why I brought up the GBC, it was a guess that it could be a reason for the color change off the original Black & White.
@@ReikoSuave There's a SNES attachment called "Super Game Boy" that allows you to play Gameboy games on the SNES. There's a palette change option you can toy around with. There's a chance that this is what you've seen.
In the Wasteland background, it's very small and hard to make out, but there is sprite of someone impaled on a spike. It looks to be Johnny Cage's sprite, and there are four of them.
These are all fake news. Literally I remember it being exactly the same as described. No saw blades in armor. No limb detach in Pit 2. None of the others. I have been a massive MK fan forever, albeit not the most hardcore among fans, but I remember distinctly the way things were as described.
A few times in MKII on Super NES there was a glitch that happened with Sub-Zero's deep freeze portion of his fatality. Possibly some issue loading memory, but the ice and frozen opponent would shimmer like a kaleidoscope of rainbow colors for 1~2seconds with slight lag. Similarly my copy of DKC would have a rainbow effect during the night to day transition at the end of level 2. However, none of these incidents have occurred outside of my childhood and I have replayed these games MANY times since then, both on real hardware and emulation.
I think you were pretty close, Travis. If you pick Shang Tsung and morph into Sub-Zero, go ahead and do the first part of his Deep Freeze fatality. Then when you morph back, you can switch it up and do another Fatality instead (either as Shang Tsung, or morphed into another character). It should glitch out their palette for a second!
Wikipedia informed me that a pencil sharpener is "a device for sharpening a pencil's point by shaving the end the pencil." Once again, really didn't need Wikipedia to explain that for me!
My false memory was an early revision of Mortal Kombat where Shao Khan WASN'T at the top of the mountain. I remember it sepcifically with early versions of MK2...but as far as MAME is concerned, all the versions going back have Shao Khan at the top. There is some REALLY early developer footage, though, WITHOUT Shao Khan at the top of the battle plan so maybe that's where that memory comes from. (czcams.com/video/baANk0xDfb8/video.html at the 8m 24s mark).
Sorry to disappoint you Tabmok, but Liu Kang's red dragon fatality and Kung Lao's scrapped fatality are probably false, MK2 only has 3 characters with scrapped fatalities, one being Shao Kahn, another being Raiden and the last one that was found out was Johnny Cage, thanks to the leaked source code.
I recall reading a message from a user in a MK-related forum where he said he pictured Kung Lao's "Bones in his hat" fatality as being similar to Mileena's "Man Eater" fatality with the difference that Kung Lao would suck the enemy with his hat and bones would be falling from it.
Heh, I just sat here trying to remember who sang it then. The Animals? Nope. The Monkeys? Nope. The Turtles. lmfao band names were something else back then.

Or maybe he’s thinking of how the boss of killer instinct 1 dies
I always remembered Reptile saying "Make like a tree and leaf me be!" in the forest in Deceptions Konquest instead of "Leave me be!" but apparently not
I actually invented that line for him! That's one false memory you can blame me for.
@@tabmok99 haha, that's wild. I saw "Leaf me be false memories" a while ago on an MK iceberg and I was like "wait I totally remember him saying that too"

Someone (I don't know who) made a gif of it.
He definitely has a red shadow kick glitch that would make the same sound as Raiden's electrocution fatality.
@@blakfloyd He does. I know about that, but I also thought it applied to the Shadow Uppercut because it also had the green shadow trails.
I swear to God I've heard that line as well
Red shadow uppercut is real, it's just a "glitch" (pretty sure it's either random or happens after a certain number or normal shadow kicks and/or shadow uppercuts and just made to look like a glitch).
The red shadow isn't from Trilogy?
The only Mandela Effect thing that really gets me going isn't MK-related... It's the Fruit Of The Loom logo. A couple years ago, I learned that apparently the Fruit Of The Loom logo has NEVER featured a cornucopia. Never. This blows my mind, because I 100% remember that damn cornucopia! The "Bearenstein/Bearenstain Bears" thing, I can put down to me misreading it as a stupid kid, but that cornucopia really keeps me up at night.
Fruit of the loom is real... youre not crazy
Crazy
I sorta remember a loud female scream being heard in the mk deception crypt that scared me a lot back in the day but maybe that was just nightmare 😂
And to this day people are still getting it wrong too.
Thanks for the mention. And yeah, even though I know I'm wrong, I can still see those saw blades in my mind. Weird.
I remember them too. I must be mixing games or stages 🤷♂️
That never happened bro. That would have required animation that they didn’t have at that time especially for MK.
Good thing fan animations did this with Kintaro at least...
That's on Mugen made games, i saw that and thought that was a great detail.
Huh, that could've been in a beta version, like the one where baraka still has his blade spin move. They sent these out for public testing but never recalled them. You might have been playing on a beta cabinet!
Sounds like the boss on the arcade version of Pit-Fighter
I have a weird false memory (i think). Back in the day sometime in the mid 2000's i was at a friends house and they had a mk game that i though was for the snes, it was VERY similar to mk2. I distinctly remember mileena without her mask on being part of the game but dont remember anything else about it. I also remember asking to borrow the game which they did let me but it didnt work in my own super nintendo, my father also told me it wasnt going to work so maybe i was confused and it was a bootleg system or something. i probably wasnt even 10 at the time but i always think about this weird mk game that i have never seen ever again
MK Has many Mandela Effect:
1)Ermac in MK1 (many people swore they saw Scorpion colored in Red), but there is no way to trigger that. Despite debunking, many people still believe that Scorpion could have been glitched in red.
2)SNES port of MK1 having a Blood Code (no, only the SEGA Genesis had it, while the SEGA CD was uncensored)
3)Shang Tsung and Goro having hidden Fatalities in MK (both of them never had one, but Shang Tsung's one was planned)
4)All the characters having three Fatalitiesin MK 2 (Only Shang Tsung had three, with Sub-Zero having two variations to the same Fatality)
5) Secret fights against Jade could be triggered by Johnny Cage only (false myth: it was easier with Johnny due to Jump low kick>shadow kick combo and many discovered it by serendipity; all you have to do is to win the first round with directional inputs and low kicks only)
6)Johnny Cage having the otomix logo in the early MK 2 builds (not true, it was removed from most sprites due to licensing issues; however, the brand is still visibile on Cage's pants when Shang Tsung performs his Soul Steal Fatality)
7)Jax having his own arms ripped off by hiw own Fatality (just a fake rumor created by a magazine preview, but many thought it was real)
8)Arcade MK 4 having Goro as sub boss (not true, Goro was added to the PC and console version; it makes you question how many people really played MK 4 at the arcades)
9)Arcade MK 4 having FMV endings (again, PSX, DC and PC exclusives, Arcade and N64 versions had in-engine endings)
10) All characters from MK Trilogy having endings (the bosses and Chameleon had no endings excluding a generic "X wins".)
11) Noob Saibot in Arcade UMK 3 (he was playable only on the unreleased Wavenet version)
12) Reptilians. Reptile's people were named Raptors and more recently Zaterrian, but Reptilians was a very widespread name in the community.
13) MK Trilogy being released BEFORE MK: Mythologies (it was the other way around, as many endings from that games features details taken from MK Mythologies)
14) MK: Annihilation and MK: Special Forces almost killing the MK Franchise: not true at all, MK was always Midway's cash cow.
In 2007 there was no new MK game, excluding the Wii port of Armageddon and Ultimate MK on DS (a collection of UMK3 + puzzle kombat taken from Deception)
16) Taven using a bow in MK Armageddon (it was shown in a trailer, but no proof of it in the game, except a few bugged animations that were cut)
17) Kano's disfigured face being inspired by a Terminator scene(debunked by Tobias multiple times)
18) Daniel Pesina being fired from Midway for the Blood Storm advertisement, when in reality it was mostly due to his behaviour and for suing Midway. The real reason is that he was annoying during the development of MK 2, tried to bank himself as co-creator of some characters, moves and ideas, was paid on Midwa's behalf for signing merchandise despite not working for Midway nor being a spokeperson. That's what is stated in the "Long Live MK book".
Technically, there's a timeline where all of these has happened
With Kronika, all things are possible. ⏳
Funny how I also had this memory of the kid from E. T. passing in front of the moon. Mandela effects are an interesting phenomenon
There was a PC version of MK Trilogy, maybe they used that?
Dude i love that you’re still active ive been on the pavilion since i was 6 or 7, 25 now keep it up 🔥
mugen mk is mostly to blame for mk madella effects
Abso-freaking-lutely!
That, and playground rumors.
@@tabmok99 Great thanks for clarifying, now I only need to find that version somewhere online.
1:52 Killer Instinct, using a special attack or uppercut on Eyedol.
What lines in particular?
@@Narcomancer1943 during the Nibelheim flashback when Sephiroth stabs Cloud he apparently says "Don't...push it.."

@@jonbourgoin182 that’s brilliant haha.
I remember thinking there was a hidden unlock of a white palette ninja called spider whose abilities were web based & had fatalities where they turned into a giant spider & ate opponents.
I saw the red dragon Fatality once in an arcade, i just took it as a glitch.
Played these games so much as a kid and teen that my memory was never false on these matters.
i remember smoke in mk2 having a smoke attack where he makes you cough but he just has the same moves as scorpion
I remember seeing Fartalities in MK Trilogy.
There were definitely fake pics of a "Fartality" move being posted online around the MK3/UMK3/MKT era!
Early revisions of MKII in the arcades would allow for this glitch!
I have no false MK memories. None.
Im sure this is a false memory but I could’ve SWORN in MK2 Johnny Cage had a fatality where he ripped your arms off and started beating you with them.
I don't think so, because Shao Kahn - and the other boss characters - can't be Finished! This may just be another false memory!
@@tabmok99 Oh wow, You're right!
My "false memory" is in an early revision of MKII Baraka had a fatality very similar to his blade impaling one but instead he just sliced em up like his special move that he does on the ground except for this fatality he sliced em up while standing and having the victim held in the air by the blades.
Regarding the MK2 Armory stage, the OP probably played/saw the MK Karnage flash game, which had buzzsaws in the said stage
just because only one person has the memory doesn't mean it's not a mandela effect. there are tons of mandela effects that I can see, but most people cannot.
Yooooo I also had that false memory of ET flying in front of the moon!
So glad it wasn't just me!
I could swear your opponent would scream in fear and terror while being spun around and the camera would dramatically zoom in their face when you did the fan fatality in mk4
I played the game again as a grown up after a decade and just thought my copy was broken when I saw none of that happening
I am promise i've seen Mileena's name as 'Marina' in a arcade machine of umk3 🤦🏼♂️ for a long time i tough her name was Marina
This is very interesting. Another great video! 🙌🏻
I had a memory of Scorpion being Green and impossible to beat (it was just Reptile's MK1 secret boss)
Your memory is better than you think. His name actually did say Scorpion in the lifebar!
@@tabmok99 yeah I 'member!
I have a revision 9.1 arcade board & will check this out. Meanwhile, can you give me more info on the red dragon & bone hat fatals? Were they meant to be in rev 9.1 or another hack?
It's possible that they're in 9.1 but my sources were saying they're in 4.2
lol would it be crazy if my animations gave someone a Mandela Effect? I mean, I've always seen people confusing my animations and say "I don't remember this from the game" or "How do you perform this?" or "Which MK Mugen game?". 🤭
I remember playing one of the console ports of mk2 on an emulator and beating the game with an infinite health cheat
When I beat Kahn on round 2 tho, the game took me to another stage and said round 3. Shao Kahn was standing in the center of the screen turned into a statue, and before I could hit him the game took me to another stage with a round 4 text where the same thing happened. I went like that for a few more rounds before I simply closed the game
Of course, this makes no sense.
I remember i had a list of fatalities in that list included Liu Kang red dragon fatality sub-zero polar bear fatality Jax hole to hell fatality and more
Those ET shiliuettes... 🤔 seems familiar, but the other things not. I play MK since '92.
Ironically, this actually became a Stage Fatality in the Mugen version of UMK3.
Not exactly in space, but the N64 version of Trilogy has a version of the Pit II with a starry sky, iirc called the Star Bridge.
There was saw blades, I remember that one.
I remember the Fire dragón 🐉 fatality of liu.. but thinking about it.. maby it was a game boy one.. the dragón burns his opponent

Anyone remember black goro in SNES Mortal Kombat 1?
I remember the glitchy silver one for sure!
Good point. The default palette for Super Game Boy even uses a lot of red when you play MKII on it.
I could've sworn in Mortal Kombat two on one of the stages it has Johnny cage dead on one of the statues like in the movie Mortal Kombat annihilation
In the Wasteland background, it's very small and hard to make out, but there is sprite of someone impaled on a spike. It looks to be Johnny Cage's sprite, and there are four of them.
there were a lot of versions of mk2, including bootleg, so maybe some of that memories really hapened
I did not have any false memories about MKII. I remember the game like it was!
In an old magazine about MKT is a cheat about "exploding Babality"! 😂 Never tried it, never saw it.
That's for the N64 version of MK Trilogy. After you do a Babality, you hold some buttons, and the baby explodes into the many limbs n rib cages.
@@tetravega567 Google says, that he first morphs back into an adult, than the adult fighter explodes.
@ Right, forgot that part.
I like the Shao Kahn falling in to the sea of Blood. It made my lol.
