Ahsoka definitely had a strong feeling that Anakin was Vader. She was just in denial. Until it was right on front of her face.

Considering that ahsoka was genuinely surprised to find out Vader was Anakin in rebels and she and Rex kept in touch I have a hard time believing that Rex could find out who Vader is unless he did and just kept it to himself which I doubt he would.

This is the second time today I have seen someone suggest a meeting of Rex and Darth/Anakin. I think it would be the most epic and emotional confrontation in all of Star Wars. Bigger than "I am your father", because Luke never knew him. Bigger than confronting Ahsoka, as she seemed to suspect it. Rex's whole existence was dedicated to serving; loyalty & honour; all this tied to Anakin.
As I told someone else who commented, it's not going to happen. If they meet face to face, Vader would never let Rex leave alive whether or not he knew his identity as Anakin. Rex is a traitor to the Empire in Vader's eyes and this is no longer the Anakin Skywalker that Rex remembers. Vader would not hesitate to kill traitors as we already have seen what he did to the "traitorous" Jedi as Anakin.
Rex finding out Vader's identity is such a fanfiction thing people want to have happen because it makes zero sense in the logic of Star Wars. Vader's identity is one of the biggest secrets in the Empire. Vader would not let it slip out that he is Anakin because it literally pisses him off thinking about it, as he sees Anakin as being pathetic and weak. Someone reminding him of his past self would guarantee that whoever that person was wouldn't be leaving their conversation alive, especially if they somehow deduced his identity from a single conversation. And records of Anakin turning to the Dark Side or his massacre at the Jedi Temple would have been sealed and locked up in Imperial archives likely in the new Imperial Palace with only the highest clearance having access to them, that being the Emperor and Vader's eyes only. So there is no way Rex finds out Vader is Anakin.
My fanmade dialogue of a finale where the two would be in confrontation:
Vader: "...Rex..."
Rex: "...You know my name?..."
Vader: "...Where's Ahsoka?"
Rex: "Gone. Why do you even care?"
Vader: "Who's leading this rebellion?"
Rex: "Us... Me... We all fight for our brothers and no man gets left behind. A sentiment the Empire doesn't share. No matter who you are, I will fight for my brothers as I did my whole life and no Empire can change or stop that."
Vader: "You're making a mistake.. Captain. Surrender, end this rebellion or else... I will."
Rex: "We already lost most of our men. Now all we want is our lives, our freedom. We fought years for the Republic and now they throw us away after making us kill the Jedi, many of who were friends of us."
Vader: "They were traitors."
Rex: "Says who?! It's the Empire that does horrific experiments on us, imprison us, execute us!"
Vader: "You only make yourselves traitors to-"
Rex: "We will not be slaves for the Empire! We live and we will fight for this right to the bitter end!"
Vader: "You cannot fight the Empire! You cannot resi-"
Rex: "We chose to rather die as free men than to live as slaves!"
Vader: "....."
Rex: "If you want to kill me, so be it. But don't expect me to run away."
Vader: "...I don't... you always were decisive and confident... You can't win this war, Rex. You are traitors for what you've done."
Rex: "Then try to stop me, because we will not, we will never. I learned a lot from my General and giving up was never an option. You call the Jedi enemies and traitors, but my General respected us, he cared for us and so did Ahsoka Tano. They always stood up for us. The Empire can't even give half of it to us."
Vader: "...Did you trust him?"
Rex: "With my life."
Vader: "...Then trust me now.. Rex."
Rex: "...What?! Why? Who even are you?"
Vader: "Do you remember Umbara? The betrayal of that Jedi Master?"
Rex: "....."
Vader: "The Jedi were always corrupt. Corrupted by their power, corrupted by their arrogance, corrupted by their ignorance. Him, Count Dooku, Ahsoka's friend Barris Offee, the Jedi weren't worthy of their power and their arrogance has lead to years of suffering. They took away from me what I loved, who I loved, treated me unfairly, disrespected me and cost me my one chance to save my family, even turned my own friend against me! Don't you turn against me now. You haven't disappointed me yet, Rex."
Rex: "I don't understand... I can't belie-... who are you?!"
Vader: "....."
Rex: "It can't be... General.. Skywalker?!"
Vader: "I was, now I am reborn. Now my chains are broken and the Force has set me free. I have brought the order to the galaxy and an end to Jedi tyranny."
Rex: "But... why?? Why would you do that?! It can't be, I know you, him, Commander... Ahsoka knew you... She didn't believe Maul.. neither did I when she told me who you would become..."
Vader: "...You haven't seen what I've seen. You haven't been through what I've went through. They held me back, plotted against me, the Republic, the chancellor. They lead you all to your deaths for their own gains. They tried to overthrow the chancellor, my friend who they wanted me to spy on and betray him and our friendship. I didn't allow the Jedi to further control me and stopped their attempt to overthrow the Senate."
Rex: "Do you have any idea what the Empire is responsible for?"
Vader: "You just don't see it, you can't."
Rex: "No. I don't see it. I can't see how my once so highly respected friend and General could fall to this darkness, the very evil we all swore to destroy and kill so many of his own and make way for this evil to overtake and terrorize the very same people we once protected and fought for."
Vader: "Don't do this, Rex. This is not a fight you can win."
Rex: "It's not a fight I want to have.. with my former good friend. You must be suffering enough, sir. Look at you... To think I would've given my life for you... We will go our way. You should know best why we fight and do what we do. If there's even an ounce of the man I knew behind this mask, then you will let us leave. We will go our ways in peace."
Vader: "I ca-.."
Rex: "No. It's over. I will go with my brothers and we will never see or hear from each other again... Goodbye.. General."

I'm sorry, and I say this with the best of intentions and no offense intended, but this has fanfiction written all over it. Vader and Rex will never meet face to face and Rex will never find out Vader is Anakin, at least not while Vader is alive and definitely not by being face to face with him.
If by some miraculous stroke of terrible writing Vader does actually meet Rex, Vader would not let him leave their confrontation alive, whether or not he knows his identity. First off, this is no longer Anakin Skywalker. When he became Vader, literally all he wanted was to destroy all reminders of his life as Anakin, which included people who knew him when he was Anakin. If he was so quick to try to kill his best friends Obi-Wan and Ahsoka, he definitely is not going to hesitate to try to kill Rex, especially now that Rex is a traitor to the Empire. The only difference is that Vader would one hundred percent succeed in killing him, as in no way shape or form would Rex survive like Obi-Wan or Ahsoka did. Rex is a good fighter, but he doesn't stand a chance in Hell fighting against or escaping from a Force-sensitive, let alone a Sith Lord and even worse Darth Vader of all people. And since he is alive in Rebels, odds are he never meets Vader.
The second thing is that Vader's identity as Anakin Skywalker was one of the most closely guarded secrets in the Empire at this time, right up there alongside the Dark Lords of the Sith being the rulers of the Empire, the plans for the Death Star, and Project Necromancer. There were only four people in the entire galaxy who knew Vader's identity at this point in time, that being Sidious, Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Bail Organa. This list grows a bit over time, but it doesn't exceed a number that you can't count on two hands. And Rex is not among the list of the few who know or find out the secret. If he did know Vader's identity and Vader knows that Rex knows, Vader would not stop searching for him until he had his head.

Vader was in the end of Clone Wars & several episodes of Rebels. I’d be surprised if he didn’t make a short appearance in Bad Batch also.
Is possible because the time show is very close to Mustafar. Between his operation, training to be a Sith and other order of Palpatine he is too busy.
The end of clone wars was after several years. There are storm troopers when Vader is on screen.
@@thehealthynerd8553 Yeah! That changes nothing about my previous statement because it was still an episode of the Clone Wars. My point was that he’s been in both previous animated series Filoni has made so it’s a good possibility that he’ll show up in this as well.
Your comment makes it seem like he was at the crash within a short time period of it taking place, like "well he arrived after the crash so he's running around during this time period" without knowing how long after he showed up. It is very possible that Vader scene took place over 5 years after the crash which would be beyond the timeline for Bad Batch. We haven't even seen stormtroopers in the Bad Batch yet and it has yet to be reveled if there is another type of trooper between TK troopers and storm troopers. Yes Vader was in the Clone Wars, you are right but you need to add the context of time for your comment to make sense. Technically Vader was in Season 3 of Clone Wars but the context tells readers of your comment that it was during a vision.

@@worthlessfools1I doubt Cody is the operative. If it was him, then crosshair would’ve definitely noticed it. Imma assume it’s just some other random clone. Plus, during the scenes where crosshair uses his thermal scope to look for Clone X you can actually see there basically nothing or no heat showing up on the operative’s legs. It’s either some other cyborg clone or maybe tech. I kinda found the pronunciation of Clone X to be different than other clones. It would be a waste if they were to put Cody in that position.
Vader and Rex should never meet, because if Rex knew Anikin was Vader, then he deliberately kept that information from Ahsoka, which he would never have done if he had that info. Just like how Vader and Obi-wan SHOULD NEVER HAVE MET BEFORE ALDERAAN!

@@T.R.E.D. pay close attention to what Vader says to him on the Death Star. If we take what happens in that god awful show, then what Vader said to him on the DS makes NO sense, and to top it off, Obi-wan ABANDONED luke. Bail KNEW Obi-wan had to stay hidden, he had the resources of his entire planet to use to go after Laia.
Add to the fact Laia's COMPLETE APPATHY after Obi-wan's death, sure, she was likely still in shock over Alderaan, but if she cared about Kenobi as much as that show led us to believe she did, she would have shown SOME reaction in ANH, Luke was more affected than she was.

I think Rex knew, because he did indeed have a chat with Ahsoka, and then Ahsoka was supposed to speak with the council; after that last council meeting Rex, who was also present, specifically said to Ahsoka after Yoda being the last to leave: "You didn't tell them what Maul said about General Skywalker". This was after Maul had been captured by Ahsoka; and obviously Ahsoka had shared what Maul said about Anakin, hence Rex's dismay that Ahsoka chose not to share such vital information. So obviously Rex already knows.

I was under the impression that Ahsoka did not know that Anakin was Vader until several years later in Rebels. So if that’s the case, she couldn’t have told Rex that Anakin is Vader. Am I remembering this correctly?
@@RDDall It seems Ahsoka didn't want to believe what Maul had told her, but it bothered her enough to tell Rex, and Rex took it seriously.

Rex in Rebels still has respect for Anakin but doesn't use his name to Kanan in the lost commanders. To me, this means that any sort of reveal needs to happen much later on because of the way Rex is written.
Rex will never know. If he did, he would have told Ahsoka before Malachor. He also would have made that information known to the Rebellion since we see him in ROTJ - and then Luke would have known.
If they were to meet, Vader would have to have pity and let him go - but that’s not how Vader is.
So, no. He’ll never know.

I would love a science were Rex is captured and is being interrogated by imperials and darth Vader walks in notices rexs armour and helmet stares down Rex, watches rex refuse to sell out his clone brothers then very discreetly uses the force to release rexs restraints and then just leaves the room knowing Rex will be able to escape
Since Rex fought at Endor, I've always imagined Rex standing behind Luke or watching from a hillside, seeing Vader burning on the pyre.
i loved the scene of rex and wolffe seeing each other after order 66 it was like watching family reunite. then wolffe lets them go like the goat he is 💯

No, I don't think they should meet. I think Rex and Luke should have a conversation in the back of the shuttle on the way to Endor. Rex learns Luke's last name and signs on to the mission just to meet Luke, verify that Anakin was his father, and tell him about his friend. It could be one of the reasons why Luke was so sure that there was still good buried inside Vader.
Others have talked about it but after a transmission with the council, yoda stayed and asked if Ashoka had anything to say. Ashoka said no and then Rex came in and said you didn’t tell them about general skywalker. This showed he was told about Mauls warning and at least knew Anakin was in some sort of trouble.
I believe that Rex will encounter Vader and if he did ever find out he would never tell Ashoka as he knows that would hurt her. I honestly can see Vader giving Rex a similar deal as Ashoka. In rebels, Vader told Ashoka if she told him where remaining Jedi can be found, that he and the emperor would show mercy to her. So I believe the same ultimatum can be given to Rex. That if Rex stops his rebellion than they find a way to make his punishment less severe, but this leads to the clones fighting back with a majority of them being killed.
You do realize that Vader was lying to Ahsoka, right? Let me remind you of something:
Maul: "Have mercy! Please!"
Sidious: "There is no mercy."
If you think Vader was being sincere, then you must think Sidious was too when he told Luke that if he became his apprentice that he would spare his friends. Sorry to burst your bubble but the Sith do not grant mercy as it is not in their nature. Showing mercy is a weakness to them as it is something that can be used against you and the only time mercy is ever uttered by the Sith is when they want to deceive their enemy.

I’m just thinking that Rex is a valuable clone leader so maybe trying to get him to end his rebellion with emotion will be a play Vader will make. When Vader met Ashoka in rebels he didn’t have his lightsaber out, he actually tried talking to deceive/ get information out of her before fighting. Now does he have the same respect for Rex, maybe, maybe not. I’m just thinking that Rex was someone Anakin fought alongside for pretty much the whole war. If Vader is going to talk to any of these clones before killing them all, it would be Rex. Now this is even assuming they’ll even have a conversation since I don’t think Rex ever brought up he did in rebels.
@@Koby102 The respect for Rex as well as all of his other compassionate emotions died when Anakin became Darth Vader. You have to remember that this is no longer the Jedi Knight that served alongside Rex in their many battles throughout The Clone Wars... this is the Sith Lord that massacred hundreds of Jedi, including Younglings, to get more powerful in the Dark Side and who executed traitors to his Empire with extreme prejudice and brutality.
Vader's life is now solely dedicated to the Sith Order and his master Sidious, and by extension their Galactic Empire. Someone who knew Anakin Skywalker would no doubt be considered a threat not only by Vader himself but by the Emperor as well, as their existence is a threat to maintaining the secrecy of the Sith and the illusion that the Jedi were traitors to the Republic. Add on top that this person was somehow able to refuse direct orders to kill the Jedi and is now leading an insurrection against the Empire, which makes him a traitor, just adds to the pile of things Vader would want to kill him for, along with the fact that this person is simply another loose end on covering up his identity for good.
If Vader met with Rex face to face, there is no question that the conversation would be short and Rex's death would be inevitable. Seeing as Rex is alive in Rebels and seems none the wiser regarding what happened to Anakin or even the existence of Darth Vader, it's pretty much obvious that he and Vader never met, nor does he know about his identity as his former General.

I low key expect a clone series with Cpt.Rex after Bad Batch is done.
I’m so fuckin tired of clowns saying that Vader will kill the batch or they’ll die in the end. There’s a lot of other possibilities. Plus, the BB isn’t much of a threat for Vader to convene. The bb could prolly settle down after they’ve got this situation solved or could just go on to help Rex post series finale. Remember, Rex actually retired during Rebels, which could mean he’s done fighting.

I never got the impression that Rex, even during Rebels, knew that Darth Vader was Anakin, even Ahsoka didn't know until the end of season 2 of Rebels, and Ahsoka and Rex had been working together since Ahsoka knew where to find Rex, so if Rex would have known it, he surely would have told Ahsoka.

If Vader see's Rex he would know asoka is alive also? It's not out the question because Vader does say the Prophesized padiwan has returned. Maybe it's by seeing Rex he thinks that?

I agree with you about how we need more SW anime. Maybe it could be about "The Path". We could see how Quinlon survived, maybe even Baylon Skoll.
I suppose Ahsoka and Rex are still somewhat working together at this point. Perhaps Rex finds out about Anakin in the Bad Batch finale, and lives to tell Ahsoka about it. Then, Ahsoka would be in denial and almost be offended that Rex would say that Anakin is a Sith. Maybe this is the reason the two of them part ways before Rebels.
Rex and the Bad Batch take Vader out but Rex can't finish him off because he realizes Vader is Anakin.
I don't think Rex ever knew until RoTJ. He canonically took part in that battle (Star Wars Adventures shorts) and he would have been there to hear about it from Luke.
I think thats why we see vader search for the venator later on because he knows if rex survived then Ashoka survived.

I dont think rex can know till after the fall of the empire. since he doesn't know during the rebel series. I believe he thinks or believes that Anakin died during order 66 or maybe before protecting the chancellor.
I really hope we get a full Clone rebellion against the empire like what we got in the og star wars battlefront series. just one last final stand for the clones to take on the empire proving they were the better soldiers but no match for the numbers or new equipment.
I don't think rex ever finds out, well at least not until Ahsoka does, Ahsoka did not 100% know until she faced him. If rex knew he would of let Ahsoka know.
If you look at the Rebels episode when they found Rex and Gregor and Wolf, Rex Stated that "General Sky-walker" would never become that monster..so even if he was told he didn't believe it!
I think after a huge clone rebellion battle Rex, Wollfe, and Gregor should be wounded and hiding in a shed or something. The imperial army finishes off the insurgence but Darth vader walks past the door and senses rex. And just leaves him

Everyone wants our heroes to be demoralized and depressed. I think that's incredibly lame.
I imagine Vader asking Rex how comes he survived while Ahsoka is dead as far as he knows. But only if their meeting happens after Vader visits crashed Venator. Probable response being she sacrificed her life to save his.
If they make that kind of a clone series. Then I think Vader should win in the end. So you get the impression that the empire was strong and not always things end in a good way. They could make it so almost every clone Rex has known is killed, and that's why he ended up being with Wolffe and Gregor, and kinda gave up on the war.

I dont think Vader at this point was responsible for rounding up the clones for Palps. This is mostly Palps, he tells Hemlock as much. Though Rex doesn't know/realize Vader is Anakin yet, he did know about Palps's plans for Anakin, through Ahsoka, which Maul revealed. The only time period Rex would ever find out about Anakin being Vader is after Endor. Either through reuniting with Ahsoka or through Luke, if they met one another.
I would really like to know how at this moment in time know
A) That the Emperor is a Sith Lord
B ) that Vader is a Sith Lord
But Vader is not yet known in the earliest days of the empire yet.
I hope they actually meet in the upcoming episode or in the near future comic books or not Vader better show up

I dont think Palp would trust Anakin hunting down clones he was close with.
I don’t think Vader will appear because I think Palpatine is keeping project necromancer close to his chest and keeping his own apprentice out of the loop. He is after all undermining his own apprentice by achieving immortality. If anything, I would think Thrawn would make an appearance before Vader. Talk about connective tissue. Tantiss originated in the Thrawn legends books after all. If Vader shows up, he’s too powerful and everyone dies.
IMO the future of Star Wars lies in animation series (Clone Wars style) so much potential to tell stories

I don't think that Rex find out any time soon. Ahsoka didn't know until Rebels, and even though they went there own ways. I do think they have a way of contacting each other. This if he found out Anakin's fate I'm almost certain that information would have been passed on to Ahsoka. He would want her to know.
I feel like if rex and Vader meet it would be similar to how Vader and Ahsoka meet Vader will show a bit of respect but still have no problem with killing him Vader wanted to destroy anything that tied him to Anakin including everyone that knew him. Also another thing I would like to see in this new series is at this point I'm guessing we can consider anything books and comics as unconfirmed so I would like to see maybe instead of kixs being frozen for 50 years maybe rex, wolef Gregor and Cody can find him and he can join up with them I feel like that's a better story for him
I dont think its gonna happen. Considering Ahsoka didnt find out Vader is Anakin til near the end of rebels.. I feel like if Rex found out any time soon, he wouldve told Ahsoka considering how close Rex and Ahsoka are.
But I could be wrong, maybe Rex does find out and just doesnt tell Ahsoka bc he isnt certain enough.

find it strange, during the empire the 501st is the last "clone stormtrooper" legion because anakin/vader is quiet fond of clones, so yeah, I'm not choked that the empire is mistreating clones, but I'm surprised that vader is participating

I don´t think we will see Darth Vader in the Bad Batch season 3. We saw him in Clone Wars season 7 but after few years in Star Wars timeline. Troopers were already full stormtroopers. We still have phase where clone troopers are being replaced by TK troopers. But if we saw Vader and Rex together and if Rex learned of Vaders secret I think he would be shattered by the truth. Similiar like in Umbara arc where 501st fought against 212th.

In my opinion, the operative/assassin is Cody, and Rex is going to be forced to kill him in the finale. The finale isn’t going to have a pleasant ending. Most of the Clones are going to be massacred. Omega and possibly one of the Bad Batch members, hopefully Crosshair, will hopefully survive and escape. Couldn’t care less about Hunter and Wrecker tbh. Crosshair has 100% been the MVP of this series and has carried it for the most part.
As of Rebels, Rex didn't know that Vader was Anakin. Why don't Star Wars CZcams channellers actually bother to WATCH Star Wars. Jeeeeezzzzz.
I don't think so. First a foremost: continuity. In rebels never shows who knows the truth. And second, Ahsoka is like a sister to him. If he knows that Anakin is Darth Vader, he is going to tell her.
I'm not saying that Vader isn't going to be in the new show, or Rex may will have a few suspicions. Especially if Vader appears in command of the 501st. But, like a Ahsoka, he isn't going to belive that Anakin Skywalker is Vader.

Please, no. To many people know he is Anakin. To many Jedi survive the Jedi purge. It would make no sense if Rex was part of the rebel force at the moment of episode. 4 he would have said that dark vader was his father before ep5
