This also being that a Clone of the Coruscant Guard asked Commander Rex if he was alright, since that Clone witnessed the event. I think the most heartbreaking moment for me after watching S7 EP11 was seeing Rex kill the other Clones to save Ahsoka. Almost as if he had done that before...which he had. Several Clone platoons from the 501st led by Captain Rex and several Clone platoons from the 212th Battalion led by Platoon Leader "Waxer" engaged one another believing each other to be Umbarans who had stolen Clone armor and weapons. This was orchestrated by Jedi Master Pong Krell, who like several other Jedi previously (like Bariss Offee) came to believe and understand that the Jedi led Republic would lose and the Darkside would take control of the Galaxy, during the Battle of Umbara. It's only surmisable that Pong Krell not only felt through the Force that the Republic and Jedi would lose, but that the Clone Army played a bigger and more darker role that previously believed by others, thus becoming an Agent of Dooku or even Lord Sidious so that when Order 66 was executed he would not be targeted by the Clones.
"They weren't the ones who betrayed us" Rex isn't talking about their specific Jedi generals, he's talking about how the Clones were betrayed by Palpatine and the chips put in their head meaning both the clones and the Jedi were victims

The problem is, that Revenge of the sith was made before The Clone Wars TV show, where at Lucas s crew noone gave a shit about the clones. Commander Cody and the rest were just plot devices to execute order 66 and not real characters. Because of episode 3 it was plotwise impossible to tell cody. But because Cody was obiwans general, he got heavily featured in the show next to Rex and we saw him as a real character. Rex, Wollffe and Gregor on the other hand, were not featured in Episode 3 and were created for the show, so the writers could do whatever they want and make them disobeye order 66. I would have loved to see Cody with Rex, Wollfe and Gregor in this scene, but because of the events in episode 3, that was impossible.

The only complaints really I have about the show is that Disney switched to their animation style which looks like it was a step backwards visually 4 years. Also with how thin the lightsaber blades are. Like come on nowhere have I ever seen a lightsaber blade less than at least 1.5 -2 inches in diameter. Those things look like a daredevil's toothpick.
Yes I know that they age twice as fast. They would have been actually been about 10-15 when order 66 was executed, making them physically 20-30 years old. But now they look to be about 50-70, thus making them 25-35.
+StarKiller 56 That is so true, but I think in situation like these we always forget, the soldiers are not the bad guys. soldiers only follow orders and usually they don't have the choice to refuse an order. The only way soldiers can refuse an order is mutiny or go AWOL and that is not always easy. In the Tianmen square massacre for example, most of the soldiers didn't want to open fire on their own people, but they had no choice. because without the support of their General, they can't conduct mutany, the first General Zai Zeyoung, actually, delay the kill order in definite, because he didn't want to kill protestors and the soldiers supported him and follow him to delay the orders, so the Communist send in troops from Shanghai, the solders here also don't want to kill, but their general gave the kill order, so the soldiers had no choice. Actually Zai Zeyoung was able to lead his army to mutany, during Tianmen, he had the support of his troops, but prior to 21st century with the dealing with Colonel Kadafi, this sort of mutiny success only happened once and that is during WW1 Russia, where the King also order for soldiers to open fire on protestors.

Funny how Rex is the leader of the group when he is only a captain, and the others are commanders. Although in his book, experience outranks everything :) Edit: we learned from The Clone Wars that he was promoted to commander, but this might create a bit of a continuity error as he refers to himself as Captain. I wonder why? Edit 2: It seems he said he will be demoted of rank for treason and executed. That however didn't really happen officially, and he ended his career in the Grand Army of the Republic as a commander; he didn't consider himself to be subject to Empire regulations, so he couldn't be demoted by anyone, especially not Jessie who was neither his superior nor his judge.
You didn't know that before the Reference to The Seige of Mandalore? If Disney made it, it is canon, and by that logic, how would you know that Rebels is canon and the Clone Wars is only canon to a Rebels-CloneWars canon? Think, buddy, think.
@@ianscott9596 Okay, yeah, I find that your comment makes little sense because Star Wars: The Clone Wars did not mention The Siege of Mandalore until Season 7 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, I think.

I've came back here after seeing the final episode of The Clone Wars, such an epic yet emotional episode😢💔😭 Rewatching this scene after the final episode gives goosebumps after Rex said he fought with Ashoka from Christophsis to Mandalore
With the newest episode of the Clone Wars, Rex was promoted to Commander. I realize that this episode was released before Disney decided to give The Clone Wars a final season, but now it just feels wrong to call him 'Captain' instead of 'Commander'
Actually it is fine, here is why. Captain rex’s commander will always be Ashoka Tano. Rex respects Ashoka too much, so he cant be commander if there is already a commander who he respects highly. U saw it yourself, literally Rex was calling her commander and the new captain called her commander when he also called Rex commander. It’s respect though, Rex can’t be captain if Ashoka is commander.
Stephen Nguyen I didn’t say anything about Rex calling Ahsoka commander. I just stated that Rex’s promotion to commander isn’t acknowledged in Rebels, which feels wrong to me. But it was probably just something that was never considered when the creative team was creating dialogue for Rebels.
@@JacobSmith-nf7ty Yep. I am so happy, that I can call Rex commander now, although it will take some time to get used to it. It is still beyond me, why this didnt happen earlyer, as both Rex and Cody were both the best clones in the army, but one was just a captain.
Death Life Senate: order 66!?! You know the order to like, ahh whatever I’ll just call Cody Rex: well that was weird (calls Kenobi) Rex: general kenobi the senate has sent out a new order it’s called order sixty si.... (massive explosion over the phone) Rex: general are you there

We're getting closer to learning how these 3 ended up on this planet. Henry Gilroy said that Wolffe executed order 66 and his chip was removed after and thats why he's so traumatised. Can't wait to see that play out.
"The Siege of Mandalore" It's funny how a seemingly throwaway quote like that is exactly like the one that name dropped the "Clone Wars" itself back when A New Hope came out, and from that Rex and his series was born. Then from this quote, the final season and ultimate end of the Clone Wars was born.
I'm surprised there's no Star Wars theroy video about this scene and Kanan not mentioning the Bad Batch. And the whole "This wasn't an idea yet." excuse won't stop them.
I understand Kanan has no reason to trust clones, after all he saw his master slain when he was around Ezra's age. But as an audience member I see the bigger picture and I am not emotional attached so it is easier for me to say Kanan shouldn't be so quick to judge. And while that is true, Kanan's pain should not be doubted. It something that does not easily go away, but I hope he will become more civil and eventually come trust Rex and other clones like him. They were pawns the same as the Jedi were in the Clone Wars.
+AnnMarieRogue Well because Kanan didnt watch Clone Wars he never heard of the stupid idea of a Chip that made them do this... he still thinks as its in the EU that the Clones just executy by (more or less) free will the Order 66. . . I hate this idea with the shitty chips Q^Q"
+TsunaTsurugi Rex did know about the chips. Later they even say that their ones had been taken or burnt out. +AnnMarieRogue If I remember well Ventris was a Jedi padawan before his master got killed. When he's master was killed she was hurt so much, that she could never return to the light side.
TsunaTsurugi Yeah, If I remember it was a hypnoteraphy back in the Legends. Which made it kind of sadder/different emotionally. Because the clones didn't change and they still remembered everything they done. So they weren't like droids.

@@kennethcassell3650 That scene is why he didn't betray Ahsoka. He was given the choice and immediately shot his own brothers to save Ahsoka.

I just wish they had told Cody about the chips
Good man, that Cody

The only complaints really I have about the show is that Disney switched to their animation style which looks like it was a step backwards visually 4 years. Also with how thin the lightsaber blades are. Like come on nowhere have I ever seen a lightsaber blade less than at least 1.5 -2 inches in diameter. Those things look like a daredevil's toothpick.
+Stephen-zan Vex-ar the show's animation and design takes inspiration from the original ralph mquarrie concept art
Oh, huh didn't know that thank you. :P
+Stephen-zan Vex-ar About lightsabers they are all different and we haven't really met anyone who to compare with besides Ahsoka.
The lightsabers are modeled after the original trilogy!
i prefer the sharp scalpel-like blades over the nearly blunt-seeming sticks/clubs. i mean, why would they be so thick? doesn't make sense to me.
And to think they are actually about 35 years old. They sure do grow up fast.
They're in their 20's...
Enzo they have advanced aging.
Yes I know that they age twice as fast. They would have been actually been about 10-15 when order 66 was executed, making them physically 20-30 years old. But now they look to be about 50-70, thus making them 25-35.

How did you guys expect Kanan to act? He saw everything and everyone he loved killed by clones!
+juiweiYang2000 LOL are you really trying to apply real military to fictional sci-fi army with clones instead of typical troops?
Solaxe S If fiction is to be real like, it must reference how things are in the real world. otherwise it would be like star war ep 7, Luke have 0 training, yet he can hit all those well trained storm troopers, while the storm troopers can't hit shit WTF?
+StarKiller 56 A clone killed his father! :)

Siege of Mandalore huh? Sounds lie they finally did something about Darth Maul's criminal empire. Other than 'Son of Dathomir' of course.
+Jonathan Sayah It was an arc that was supposed to be in Season 7. It finally lets Obi-Wan have closure with Darth Maul, Mandalore is freed from the Shadow Collective, and Ahsoka sees Anakin one last time...

The more I hear about all the potential the cut content from the Clone Wars would have had, the more pissed off I get at Dysney for cancelling that series...
I know. A couple more seasons moved to Disney XD, THEN Rebels would not have been the end of the world.

Funny how Rex is the leader of the group when he is only a captain, and the others are commanders. Although in his book, experience outranks everything :)
Edit: we learned from The Clone Wars that he was promoted to commander, but this might create a bit of a continuity error as he refers to himself as Captain. I wonder why?
Edit 2:
It seems he said he will be demoted of rank for treason and executed. That however didn't really happen officially, and he ended his career in the Grand Army of the Republic as a commander; he didn't consider himself to be subject to Empire regulations, so he couldn't be demoted by anyone, especially not Jessie who was neither his superior nor his judge.
Never understood why he was Captain Rex all this time, did Anakin's 501st have a "Commander" aside from Rex
Maybe Rex refused promotions
Edward Ness Anakin was the general, Ahsoka was the commander and Rex was the captain
501st legion is smaller than say the 212th attack battalion which has a commander, and is lead by a jedi master. Anakin was not a master
Experience outranks everything? Then gregor is still in charge. Commandos saw everything and were live fire trained from day 1

1:37 Siege of Mandalore? Well here we are
Wolfe: there are 4 of them, 2 with lightsabers and a ship, terrible odds
Rex: for them.
Tacodog 76 *Rex* “I like those odds.”
Now it makes sense, that Rex gives orders to Wollfe. Now both are commanders, but experience outranks everything. So Rex is the leader!
Innoclaust DbD I hadn’t even considered that, but yeah it definitely makes sense!
@@JacobSmith-nf7ty Yep. I am so happy, that I can call Rex commander now, although it will take some time to get used to it. It is still beyond me, why this didnt happen earlyer, as both Rex and Cody were both the best clones in the army, but one was just a captain.

"The Siege of Mandalore"
It's funny how a seemingly throwaway quote like that is exactly like the one that name dropped the "Clone Wars" itself back when A New Hope came out, and from that Rex and his series was born. Then from this quote, the final season and ultimate end of the Clone Wars was born.

0:19 "um nothing.. BYE"
+AnnMarieRogue Well because Kanan didnt watch Clone Wars he never heard of the stupid idea of a Chip that made them do this... he still thinks as its in the EU that the Clones just executy by (more or less) free will the Order 66. . .
