Pifco Super Sonic Bicycle Horn 1960's Beyond Repair

- This old Pifco Supersonic Bicycle horn was sent to me but to be honest, it was really beyond repair. It had rusted away and was very thin and there were internal brackets missing so I gave it a go. It's not historically accurate but I did enjoy the challenge in bringing this rusty old piece of junk back to a working item. Hope you enjoy.

Of all the restoration videos I watch, the absolute best and coolest are the ones that take garbage, junk nobody wants, and turns them into pieces that anyone would be proud to own. This one is amazing!! Love your work. Keep them coming!!
Glad you like them!
Man, whoever had this bell on their bicycle was one cool cat!!!
Ican respect the amount of work that went into that bike horn. Now I want to see the rest of the vintage bike get done up.
That was impressive. I would never have been brave enough to sandblast the bottom half of that . It was so far gone! Great job!
Thanks 👍
What a state it was. You have worked your magic on it and now looks beautiful.
Well done!
Many thanks Jeff
Wow. I had a pair of these on my bike when I was kid. I drove everyone mad.
When I started to watch the video I thought ....no way. You made the impossible possible👍
Put it on sharons mower, beep the dog out of the way! 😂 😂 great restoration.
Good idea!
Lovely job Martin ! Another piece of yesteryear brought back to life from the brink 👏
Glad you enjoyed it
I had one and have to admit, I fast forwarded to hear it work and bring back the memories . I did go back and watch the whole thing though lol
Marvellous! I had one of them on my scooter in the 1960s. Great job!
Thanks!
Awesome, brings back memories, great RetroHax.
Glad you enjoyed it
That's your best work yet martin. Sharon will want one on her pimped up lawn mower if she saw that.
Excellent! I had one of those on my first proper bike in the 1960s.
Very nice restoration, thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
Had one in my younger days remember that sound well ,another great restore
That's amazing Martin.
Brilliant job
Who needs a bike horn when you’ve got birds singing like that.
Great video Martin. Wow what a difference, i remember having a brand new one when i was a kid. All the kids in the street would want to press the button and the battery would be spent in no time lol. Battery technology was crap in them days, always leaking that's probably what happened to the body of the one you restored.
Cheers, Jeff.
That's exactly what happened with mine on my scooter. Stopped working eventually and my dad couldn't fix it. Cheers!
Yes Jeff, they were poor back then
55 years later and batteries are just as bad especially the cheap ones that come out of China
That was a maze job you dun there on that 1960 horn. 👍 👍
Great job all along the way, when you sprayed the powder coat, I assumed it would be a durable black finish. What a surprise when it had a time in the oven to reveal an almost chrome shine, very well done!
Cracking result love the old things like that you are a talented man
Every video I'm still amazed how you bring things back to life. As the saying goes one man's junk is another man's treasure and seeing treasure come back to life is amazing.
Super job Martin. I had one of those on my Raleigh Commando in about 1975.
Thanks Steve👍
Never thought that would make a sound again Martin. Another great job
Glad you enjoyed it
great restoration .now i can say all the stuff i have lying around its not scrap
Hi Retro Hax 👋👋👋 awesome restoration 👍👍👍🔥👌🏽✌🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent work, i thought that was way beyond
Glad you liked it!
Nicely done, sir. This was every school boys dream accessory, the sonic sound maker. Makes your bike the one to follow.
Beautiful job Martin
Great Job Martin. Really impressed by the chrome powder coat 👌
Glad you like it

Thank you very much!
nicely done Martin, you saved it from the bin.well done my friend.
Thanks 👍
Cracking job Martin.
Excellent job! I want to find one for my old bike now.
Christmas Day 19_never_mind. First proper two-wheel cycle (Raleigh fitted with Sturmey-Archer 3 speed gears). Dad trotting behind 6 year old boy, steady hand on the back of the seat until he mastered balancing, Pifco horn (headquarters in nearby Manchester), a luxury extra, along with the dynamo rubbing on the wheel to power a front lamp. RIP Dad.
Great job
Fantastic transformation.
Thank you!
Awesome on restoring that neat bike horn.
Thanks Dave
That turned out amazing awsome work to give it life again .
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice save, I thought it was a goner for sure. So much of this stuff just goes in the bin. Hi to Sharon. Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺
Cheers Stu.
Wow.... really impressed...that piece was so pited...it looks amazing...really great job!!!
Thank you so much 😀
Wow Martin you never cease to amaze me that was one fantastic restoration i would say one of the toughest restorations yet and you pulled it off with flying colours a joy to watch 👍👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it Alan
Spectacular job Martin! That has got to be the most ambitious "Hax" project yet. It is beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Martin you are a genius
WOW!!! I thought it was hopeless, all of those holes in the metal, but leave it to you to figure out what to do. Great restoration RH. Thanks for posting.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great job! Great save and idea on that rotted out cover. Never would have thought of that. Which is why I'm not making these videos and you are. Really enjoy the ambient background sir.
Thanks 👍
You could have used hot glue to finish the project after 17:30 and I still would have hit the like button. That outer shell looks amazing!
That’s louder than the horn on my Hyundai. Great job.
Tough one this time Martin. There really was only two ways to fix this one, Cut new metal and weld it in, or body filler like you did. But since this doesn't receive any harsh usage, either works fine. Interesting seeing how you did this one. Thumbs Up!
I'm amazed at the patience you had to do something so fiddly, I really didn't think this one would make it
Nor did I lol
Great job 👍
Thanks 👍
Martin you are a master. Your videos are helping me get through lockdown! Hope the family are all safe and well also 👍🏻
Thanks, you too!
I was hoping the la cucaracha tune would sound off.
WOW....this was a tough one..... nicely done.... hats of 4 you 😲
Thank you 😁
Beautiful job Mart.
Baz.

Anyone else like before watching this channel? I always do
Absolute stunning massive thumbs up from me well done 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
I had one of those horns on my bike, (1960 +/-) I think I purchased it for a buck at Western Auto.
Evaporust or MC-51 in an ultrasonic cleaner tank seems to work really well.
Martin that looks fantastic!! The chrome gives it a modern and rustic appearance to it all at the same time.
Keep the great videos coming.
Thanks for sharing and God bless
Thanks Roy👍
Wow! Looks great Martin 👍
Thanks Dave 👍
WOW, at first I thought you were going to trick us , and something else, but I'll be darn if you didn't fix it, and it came out beautiful lol 👍😁
He's alive! 8-D
A rare item indeed, as anything Pifco should have disappeared into dust by now!
Great job on it tho.
Terrific job on the restoration. I did get a big smile when you operated the horn. It sounded as weak as I remember from my childhood days. LOL They did look really good on the old bicycle though.
Dave.
Crome coate looks great
Take a bow Martin 👏👏👏👏
U did It brother well done 👍🏻👍🏻
Outstanding! 👍
Thank you! 👍
Just what the doctor ordered during the current madness. Martin does the seemingly impossible yet again, thanks so much for keeping us amused to the point of insanity as I sit here waiting for the men in white coats as nobody would believe me if i told them what you just did :)
My pleasure!
Master piece!!! 👏👏👏👏
Thank you! Cheers!
Eyup Martin lad, another remarkable result and like a few other (I suspect) old geezers, I too was proud to have one of these on my bike in the 1950's. One of these days, some daft bugger is going to send you a sack of rust flakes and try to get you to restore it back into a vintage mower! Best regards from that old fart in Ireland.
Thanks bud.
Amazing job you have done buddy 👌 👍 😀
Thank you! Cheers Mark
5:08 every tool has a hammer side. Nice job Martin.
Nice wrk brother
Thanks ✌️
This one was entertaining. Decent job.
I had the 1970s Square design on my bicycle, I really enjoyed that summer when my dad bought me an old bike and sprayed it a colour of my choice, and remember going to the bicycle shop and picking out this horn because I didn't want one of those girls bells
Thanks for sharing!
What a genuinly awsome toy to hawe, i realy love the design of that thing!
I had no doubts whatsoever that You where the right man to fix it up!
Cheers! From a grey, could Scandinavia!
You and me both!
Now that's a happy CZcams fan.
Respect!
I think i had one on my chopper !!! But my playing cards were louder on my back wheel ! Great content martin 😄😄😄😄🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🚲🚲📢📢📢📢STAY SAFE🔊🏡🏡🏡
Thanks 👍
Exellent job. I love it
Thank you! Cheers!
Good work Done 👍
👏 👏 👏
Thank you 👍
@@RetroHax welcome
You done a great job there Martin
Thanks bud
RetroHax Martin did you see my postbox video
@@grandadsworkshop5394 Yes I did.
What can I say Mr Hax! that has to be your most challenging project to date and you pulled it of beautifully.
That was most impressive, not as impressive as my mate who did the dance of the flaming arseholes in a bar in Djibouti when he was drunk, and when the military police went to arrest him he piled into them drunk and naked and later got jailed for 20 days.
Never the less a cracking restoration, I'll raise a glass for you.
Haha, nice one Kev lol
