I remember always watching these when they would come out. Not gonna lie, I really do miss those days.
That ending was perfect. It's awesome how you show the finished product doing the job it was made to do. Thanks again sir!
Came for the restoration , stayed for the buttermilk. Beautifully restored.
You soon whisked that into shape keep churning out the videos love the finish you achev with powder coating 👤👍👌👏
There's nothing better than home churned butter. That looks great 👍.
Thanks for sharing and God bless
I love watching you bring things back to life.🙂🙂
Looks great.
Churning butta was my job growing up.
It is funny how things get lost in your mind and a simple thing like watching butter being made jogs those memories to the top....sort of like the cream rising.. Anyhow, in fourth grade I was partaking in making butter so the whole class could eat it with homemade soda biscuits. Those two things are on my short list of comfort food. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, for this and all other channels working to preserve the heritage of our respective countries, one rust bucket at a time.
BTW, that teacher rocked. She was always coming up with ideas to make her class special.
Side note to that memory- That same teacher was the one who sent me to the principal's office for what I thought was a secret I shared with her. It seems in all classes there is that one boy or girl who is just plain weird. Now mind you, weird is a compliment in my book. Think about the weird ones in history who did amazing things...I will leave you to that thought after I tell why I went to Mrs. Kellenburg's office. So this weird kid, Donald Pl--a-t, asked me to do something sexual in the woods behind the school. I didn't hang with him but I was the first girl to wear a mini skirt and white gogo boots to school. I think that made me look older or more wise to the ways of the world. He had been held back so he was older, by age alone. When I told Mrs. Hall the secret she sent me to the beehived and bedecked Principal. A big German woman which scared me on its own because I was a well seasoned kid at that age. TV was my best friend. So, the principal scolded me then told me I was not to wear that dress again. This perplexed me because I was trained at a very early age that sexuality was a valuable thing. That is a story only to be told when not recalling a good/bad/indifferent story.
The next day they called us to the gym, girls first then the boys. We were told there were new rules. No mini skirts, no gogo boots, no perfume, nothing that would ride up when you sat down. No shorts in the spring and no wearing a sweater without a tee shirt under it. Then they played a short, scratchy reel to reel about a girls, coming of age. The voice over was on a record and I was distracted by the movie and sound not matching up. By the time it was over I noticed the teachers and that big German woman were looking at me, talking behind their hands to each other and by the time it was done I realized something big.............
I made the school created a Dress Code!
All I really wanted was to find out how to say no to him. I really needed that bit of information, it would have saved me a great deal of pain. Cute story and truthful. If you made it to the end you get two thousand cookie points and a buttered biscuit,
Yes I did make it to the end lol, Nice memories form a time when we were a lot happier I think.
You have broadened my horizon with this video. I have never seen such a kitchen tool before. Thank you! :D
Blown away Martin...
You've done it again...
Thanks bud
I want to make my own butter .. nice restoration
First thing that came to mind, is that gear box looks alot like the inside of a fishing reel....
Great restore..
Wow that was amazing to watch and good on you for having a go at making your own butter! My Irish grandmother had a butter churn that was a wooden tub with a paddle in it and you had to push the paddle up and down to churn the cream into butter.....us kids used to fight over who got to do it because she said it would guve us muscles! As I was one of the few girls in the family I always felt I had to prove I was as good as the boys and would arms like jelly in the end! Lol! Thanks for bringing back such good memories. :)
Great memories and thanks for sharing them too.
Well Martin you've done it again, Great Job
Thanks for sharing.
I loved that homemade is the best. I have not made homemade butter in years.
I bet that butter was so buttery and extra butter flavored since you made it yourself from the butter maker you restored. So it has all the butteryness of butters made past, that's why that butter was so good because of all the previous butters that had existed because of that butter maker, it infuses butter you make with it now with extra butter essence, since any butter you now make with the restored butter maker is the spiritual successor to all the previous butter. Also you did a good job at the restoration so that helps too.
There's more butter in your comment than we made lol
It's really nice to see that something you restored is actually used. You do teriffc work on your restorations.
Looks good, thank you for showing how it works. Great job.
I just found one of these in our farm barn! This video is great - I hope I can restore my one like this!
Good luck!
Wow that awesome. You don't see those anymore in kitchens anymore. Maybe in granny kitchen. Its neat to see them in action.
Yes David and its a good workout on the arms lol
Amish, and off-griders still use them all the time, they're even still available new.
Looks amazing, well done
Bloody fantastic that pal 👍👍⭐⭐
Thanks Chris
I bet that butter was delicious. My grandma used to make the best butter in her kitchen, heck she made the best everything.
Nicely done bro. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Thanks bud, yes its very good
I could practically taste the butter! Amazing job
Fantastic. I'd never seen one so small. Great fun. Beautiful.
DAMMIT, now you got me hungry for buttered toast! (great resty job BTW)
Great job on the churn restoration. One tool you need for removal and installation of pins and rivets is a bench block. They come in quite handy.
great job Martin...wonderfully satisfying.
thanks for the blow by blow restoration I was blown away.. now go have a chip butty....
Haha, I see what you did there.
I have subscribed to your Channel, love the way you powder coat, you don't scrimp, love watching the restorations
Than you very much.
I've never seen one of these and I'm English. Love how you got the wife to do the hard work. Lol. Nicely done.
Really superb job. Enjoy watching your restorations. Thank you for sharing your videos.
Martin, that powder coating is excellent on your projects. Beautiful results, thank you for sharing.
Nice! I'm not going to lie I was disappointed that the footage in the blasting booth was lost. For me that is some of the best parts of restorations. Eggcellent job, the Blow name and the shape of the mixer reminds me of blowing eggs. Your powder coating is getting better and better. We had goats when I was a kid and made butter and sold goats milk, the butter was delicious.I hope you enjoyed your after all that hard work! So enjoyed the video, keep them coming. Thanks for sharing! :)
Thanks very much
Lovely - looks fab!
Another fantastic job Martin and particularly enjoyed seeing you make the butter.👍🏻👌🏻
Love the music at the end, so fitting for this era item. Great vid!
Very talented thank you for videos
Once again you have done it, great video. Sorry we missed the sand blasting of the parts, I was interested in how the cap being so thin would do, but obviously it went well. Keep up the good work and enjoy the butter milk.
Thanks Paul
Mais um excelente trabalho !!! Parabéns pelo capricho.
Beautiful video!Thanks!👍
Would you consider replacing the viewing window on the sandblaster? It’s pretty scuffed and hazy. Also adding a shelf inside would help keep the item in view easier. Thanks for a very cool channel, grandkids and I love watching.
That powder coating makes a great restoration into an awesome, top notch restoration. I have got to get mine together and start powder coating. Freaking awesome! Love it. B
Awesome restoration (and home made butter)!!!
Hi Martin good job well done mate,,,you'll be opening a museum of oddities the way your going,, love it,,, ,,love and peace to you all TIM
Haha Tim, yes, I'm getting quite a collection now lol
Cool restoration with a nice twist at the end!
Nicely done.
Your loving this powder coating now Martin 👍🏻 true professional 😁😁
That's really cool. Terrific restoration, Martin. It made a nice dish of butter, too.
Yes, and the buttermilk made scones.
I remember using one of these as a child, back when getting your kids help was fun useful and productive and I got a cookie for it.😋🙃🌵🌵🌵🌵🌵
Never heard of Blow, but what a little beauty. Lovely job as usual Martin. Keep churning them out!
Thanks Dave.
I enjoyed this. Really nice job.
Nice job. I need to make me some now with my churn.
Another flawless job. I think I may have added just a touch of HT wheel bearing grease in the differential. We had an Orange Juicer in the same color scheme. Evidently colorful kitchen gadgets were very popular post WWII. Thanks from Narragansett Bay.
Yes, it does look very retro
No sandblasting footage?! Nooooooo! Great result regardless 👏
I know...Love it when the sand blaster is used
Great, now i want crumpets
I really appreciate your fine sense of patience and eye for detail....a great lesson in living and working. Thanks and best wishes from Kauai!
Thanks for watching bud

Nice ambient audio track added to the footage.
Cheers bud
Super awesome!!!! Wow
Fantastic!!
They made some very handy gadgets in the '50's.I'd love one of these.
Great job Martin.
Ant it is still working after 60+ years.
They are still available new in stores that cater to Amish and off-griders, online too, and in several different sizes.
@@juliebaker6969 Thank you.I'll take a look online.(Not sure if there are any Amish in the UK)
Really looks nice.
Super! Great job! :)
better than new once again. nice!
Nicely done Martin keep the videos coming no matter what they are you can be sure they are entertaining
Brilliant Martin, well done 👍
Thanks Dave
Anyone else think dam birds! I get woke up at 5am because of those things.
So do I, LOL... But I actually like hearing them in the background
I did actually turn the sound off to see if they were on the video or those usually outside my window. However, damned they are not. I love birds. They kill mosquitoes so that rocks in and of itself!
Nice restoration.
Great job. The buttermilk reminds me of my Dad. He loved the stuff and drank it straight out of a glass. I never developed a taste for it myself.
Um.... ewwwww , straight buttermilk ? Not may cup of tea 😦
To each his own. I don't like it either. It was the original non-fat milk which is why he drank it.@@RavenMacy
I love buttermilk, but I prefer the full fat cultured kind. Homemade buttermilk is great in cooking though. It can be used in pancakes, biscuits, cornbread, batter coating for frying, there are lots of uses.
Fantastico !!! Bravo Martin !!! 😃👍
A 1000 volt electricians screwdriver, I have both common, and Philips also. You did a very good job.
Outstanding Martin the powder coatings working out great
All the best.
Yes it is so hard wearing compared to paint.
I am pretty sure that I will never churn butter in my life, but I need that in my kitchen for aestetics, I am a middle aged man...
Nice work Martin
First time I made butter was with one of these as a class project in 3rd grade (1968) We passed it around to spread the turning load.
Very nice stuff. I love the vintage look you give to a really vintage tool. Great work (what about the taste for that butter?, look awesome).
Great restoration. FYI the small holes in the lid are a built in strainer. You just pour out the buttermilk into the jar. One less thing to clean when you are done.
Настоящий мастер своего дела!
well that's very nice of you Martin to leave us hungry! lol, never seen such a thing like this, nice job!
Yeah, makes you crave fresh, hot biscuits, or cornbread.
Interesting restoration 😊
Perfect 👌🏻
I dont know why there is people dislike a video like this? What is wrong with them?
nice Butter demonstration to end the video
Who knows bud.
@@RetroHax those that disklike must be vegan =]]]]]]]]]]]]]]]] damn those bastards
@@maskedlover8768 ether that or they're upset the sandblasting part got screwed up.
Oh man, that turned out great Martin, and I just love that powder coating. We have a similar butter churn, the bottle is a bit bigger though.
And to keep all that butter from going sour, it needs to be held under cold running water while being hand kneaded until no trace of the white cream remains. That cream that he separated and poured off into another container is called buttermilk. You don't need the churn to make butter. Set some cream aside at room temperature until it just starts to sour. Then pour it into a Mason Jar about halfway. Put on the lid and shake, shake, shake, shake, and shake some more. Keep shaking until the butter forms into a blob inside the jar. It will do this quickly. About the time you start thinking that you just can't shake it anymore you'll notice a different sound when shaking. That happens because the butter just formed. Make sure to hold butter under cold water or put into a bowl with cold water and squeeze and squeeze it until the rinse water is no longer cloudy. Using a bowl, you might have to change out the rinse water several times. Then add salt to the butter until it tastes right to you. Knead the salt into the butter. Some people like really salty butter while others just want a hint of salt. So flavor with salt to your taste preference. Refrigerate the leftover cream because it is really good home-made buttermilk. Any cream from the grocery store will work except fat-free.
Yeah but homogenized takes much longer and forms much smaller blobs of butter. And the higher the butterfat, the more butter you will get (and the less buttermilk).
I also wait til room temp, then into the churn it goes. In less than 5 minutes it's butter.
Surprised you didn't grease the gears. Awesome resto and great work!
They as now meant to be lubricated
