She is 100% right in college you do not take your foot off the gas. Colorado lost to a top 10 team and went from #19 to outside of the top 25 because of style points. Oregon leap frogged SC because of style points. College teams do not take their foot off the gas. It could mean the difference between playoff national championship contenders and a regular bowl game.
Wins still mean more than style points. 13-0 record will always be better than a 12-1 record even tho the 12-1 team blew out all their opponents in their 12 wins. But a loss is still a killer

Literally only a few months of working together with very few holdovers from last season. Yet this Colorado team is beating a well-seasoned, top notch, highly respected, top 10, Heisman winner QB team. Acho and his fellas are not fooling anyone here. They can save those tired comments and excuses for toddlers.

Why is Acho stuck on 41-14? The FINAL score was 48-41. And, I'm with Joy all the way: If USC is as good as the experts say, it stands to reason that Colorado is better than believed. And BTW, USC did not take their feet off the gas. Caleb Williams played EVERY snap...and he threw TWO interceptions, the first of the season. It's a shame that they took away the true freshman's - young Cormani McClain - interception on that BOGUS pass interference call. Why is no one talking about THAT?!?

I kind of understand what Acho is saying, what he's saying is - if you take the 1st half, the "do anything we want to you" style of offense was on complete display. It really looked like there was nothing CU could do against them.
Acho's argument is, the reason you didn't see this in the second half - is because he believes there was a conscious decision made by USC coaching staff at halftime to "wrap it up", i.e. "put away the A grade playbooks" and try to get it done on a C grade playbook. This would achieve two things:
1) Keep the game looking competitive but not obvious that you are laying it down for the day;
2) Allow CU to save face and keep building confidence, and give them a chance to get back into the game.
One bit of evidence was, that silly long throw that was clearly short and got intercepted. If this was Georgia 10/10 times he doesn't make that throw and USC doesn't run that play.
That's at least what I understand Acho's argument to be! It's like playing your little brother and letting him score enough to keep competitive so he learns and grows the most while boosting his confidence (as opposed to Oregon playing like MJ and not letting them get a single score on him)

Against Colorado: Oregon won the second half last week 7-6. USC lost the second half 26-14 on Saturday. The Buffs need to start faster, but they seem to be making the proper adjustments at halftime.

Oregon winning the second half 7-6 is not a small victory for Colorado considering those 6 Colorado points brought the score to 42-6 lol. When you're up 35-0 at halftime, most teams adjust their gameplan to shorten the game and reduce risk of injury. Bama, UGA, Michigan, and Ohio State do that all the time against lesser teams. USC's defense is so bad that throttling down is erroneous - their best is already subpar. Hence Colorado's ability to make a comeback.

For all the haters, USC survived a game against an unranked team. USC is playing for a national championship, and they survived against an unranked team. Think about that. Colorado had made great defensive adjustments in all 5 games.. TCU, CSU,Nebraska, especially at Oregon cause they wanted 70pts but ended with 42.

Colorado was never in the game. No one was ever nervous about it. By the time Colorado got within 7, the game was over. I love how Joy is telling Acho and McCoy what the mentality of a college football player is. Having played college football, they might know a thing or two about it. No matter what she claims, USC plays a much different game if Colorado is ever within striking distance.
There were games this weekend that teams that were up and took the foot off the gas in College Football. That does happen.
Joy was definitely wrong. Shady and Acho were both high level D1 athletes and they both said that teams take their foot off the gas and they're probably saying that from experience. Also it's human nature to do relax when you're so far ahead.

Colorado played a good game against tough team& in days they are very good imagine a little time after the fast improvement already.
Colorado just needs a win and they’ll get back to the momentum they had during the first 3 weeks. These back to back Ls came from teams favored to beat them. It’s not like they were expected to win against Oregon and USC. Anyone happy that Colorado is losing or being “humbled” isn’t looking at the big picture. Everything going on with Colorado as a whole, is good for CFB.

USC is a seasoned team with 2022 and 2023 practice camps and returning starters. Colorado is a brand new team with 90 - 95% new players and only one spring and fall camp (less than 6 months) to get ready for the season. Yet Colorado closed the point gap down to 7 points on USC by game end. With the maturity of the USC program they should of out performed Colorado by a wider point margin. Some of the analysts speak as if Corado's team was not just cometely gutted and rebuilt in 2023.
Colorado has the talent to beat most of those teams. They all have a point. On one hand we can’t keep saying Colorado hasn’t played its best football yet. They can’t keeping falling asleep in the first half and then coming alive in the second half. You can’t keep letting teams hang 30 points on you and then try to fight back in the second half. On another hand Colorado has one of the best quarterbacks in college football. He needs protection and he needs the ball. As long as Colorado’s defense stays on the field, Shedeur can’t get the ball in his hands. So we need to fix the defense. Every team has injuries, you can’t depend on just one or two guys. As far as protecting Shedeur, he has to recognize that his O-Line isn’t going to hold that line forever. They have to practice to their strengths. Design plays for how long the O-Line can give you. That means you need to be run heavy and pass once they start committing to the run. Its Literally the only choice they have. You can’t be a Shedeur who holds the ball for as long as you do with the O-Line that can’t block for that long. That ain’t rocket science. The Coaches have to take some blame. Design better plays for your weaknesses. Faster plays to get the ball out of Shedeur’s hands. That Boils down to run heavy to me. You saw how well it worked with USC. You can’t abandon the run as soon as you notice it’s not working. Keep grinding away and itll work eventually.

It's not a good excuse but USC ran out of gas on both sides of the ball. It's the same thing that happened to Colorado St. Playing in that altitude, by the 4th quarter opponents have nothing left and Colorado can come back. If that game with SC was on a neutral field, it would have been something like 62-17.

WOW! There is nothing wrong with what Coach Prime is doing. Having the glitz and glamour isn't taking the focus away from the players, and it's definitely not taking the player's minds off what they are supposed to be doing. They played a heck of a game by fighting their way back. Celebrate them rather than putting them down. Talk about how they almost beat a ranked team. Talk about how proud you all are of what Coach Prime (new coach) has accomplished in such a short period of time. Talk about the excitement, tv ratings, boost in sales, students and fan participation, and talk about the players in a positive way, the team he's building, and what he brings to the table. You guys act as if this team has been together for years. I salute Coach Prime and the Buffs! I BELIEVE and I will always pull for and celebrate the Buffs, even if they lose a game. Rome wasn't built over night. I know... They Are Coming! Go Buffs!
