- Today I visited the Australian Computer Museum Society workshop in Croydon, Sydney. I got to hang out with some wonderful people, all dedicated to preserving and cataloging vintage computer history, especially Australian computer history. I also had a chance to speak to ACMS president, Adrian Franulovich about what the ACMS does, and why it's so important.

Excellent video and museum! Always great to see others who want to preserve vintage computers. Thanks for sharing!
What a cool organization and collection. Thanks for showing us.
Thanks for the tour, Bruce!
The ACMS really is an incredible place, I remember walking in for the first time after all the equipment had been moved in and being absolutely blown away.
Thanks for sharing Bruce. 1:59 Love that WOMBAT Apple II clone! .. and 6:05 fortnight 😀
This is impressive! Thank you for sharing this video. I am so glad to be a sub.
Naughty Bruce!
Fantastic!
Nice vid, many don't know this place exists. I had no idea they had workshop evenings. Love it and great reason to join.
Many of those machines on the shelves look familiar and of course many I’ve not seen before. It’s nice that they have the ethic of preserving the old technology and documentation. The media types are interesting as well. I got into computing on the cusp of old room sized units going away and into the desktop pc revolution. It was an exciting time in the late 70s and 80s as technology was really starting to grow so prolifically and change virtually everything. Of course then we couldn’t foresee the amazing tech we take for granted today, but I have a fondness for the old vintage equipment that paved the way for future tech!
Great video, looking forward to the next event at the Australian Computer Museum Society.
Very cool!
Excellent video, Bruce!
Really interesting on my list to visit
cool to see this walk round video thanks for posting :)
It looks like one corner of Steve's basement
Hey Adrian, I sold you sold Macs when you were a teenager! Nice video Bruce. I think Adrian has watched your video and put that cable back...
Mike???
@@digitalrampage Nick.. from Apple Bits...
@@aa-au ha! That was going to be my other guess.. I still have all of them. I remember I started buying off you in 99/00
@@digitalrampage I still have computers from 1999/2000 too - check out my channel. More stuff to come.
The first time you said your name i understood "Bruce Wayne". I was amazed that Batman would gimme some lessons about repairs! (English isnt my first language, so beg your pardon for the joke but i still laugh when i remember this event!).
What Modcomp model is it at 4:57? We have a Modcomp 9250 at work that we still are using a little. But we have created a emulator to be able to run the old operating system (MAX IV) and its applications on a modern Windows computer that are taking over the use of the old Modcomp hardware.
This looks so cool! Shame it's not in Victoria :(
