At that airport, I would likely give the tree line more clearance and float down the runway further before touchdown. You are doing really well and the RV looks great! Good job.
Flare more, hold it off. If you keep driving it on flat like I see here and you will one day wind up bouncing the nose wheel and probably go off the runway wonder what’s going on. Land on the mains first and hold the nose off the ground for a bit before lowering it last. CFI CFII check airman.
this summer was spent getting the hang of my RV6, and most of it was spent in the circuit with 152's... the speed of the RV6 makes it a real challenge to stay in the circuit with 4 or 5 C152's. I like that there’s no music. So many flight videos are ruined by yt music, especially when you’re trying to listen to the dialogue (like in this vid) or the radio chatter.
Awesome! Im going to look at a 6a tomorrow. It has a steam gauge panel, no a/p. Built vfr light. But I dont need much.. your panel looks trick. Are those G5’s?
There's one G5. It would be really nice to have a second because I want to be seeing a traditional horizon indicator when turning to an assigned heading.
I'd say you are too fast and too low an approach angle but I have a c/s prop, so it may be a fixed pitch prop approach difference. Otherwise, good control.
It's about $2,900 a year for the annual. Other than that the autopilot for some reason stopped working correctly after the GPS epoch. The autopilot vendor thinks there is a bad ground on the cutoff input. Also the canopy developed 2 large cracks which I sealed with "weld-on" #16 and #4. The cracks happened from heat expansion of the rivets inside holes that had been drilled too small. That's mostly it though. It's been a good, well performing, plane and I feel very safe in it.
@@reyesben I trained in the RV for about half of my training hours. I couldn't test in it thought because the testers weren't comfortable in an experimental. So I've basically been flying it since the beginning. The other plane I trained in was a Cessna 172. The RV is super sensitive on landing so it's not a plane you'd want to fly if you weren't comfortable with keeping on top of your speed/power. The issue primarily is that the max full flap speed is just below 90 knots and you want to be coming in for a landing around 80 knots. Plus the plane is super slippery so you build speed fast if you're not paying attention. So you need to be very on-top of your speed. Stall is also pretty sudden and you drop like a rock. Having started in it early on though, it wasn't much of an adjustment for me. Just feels like the way things work.
Jason Carter that was smart to train in it. I have my PPL with all my time in Cessna’s. I love the RV though and think one is in my distant future. You have a beautiful plane with autopilot also! That’s sweet! I’m at Barnes but not current. Kids and family are expensive but I watch airplane videos constantly. I was happy to find your channel. If you ever come down to BAF for a bite at the terminal restaurant I would love to see your plane in person. My 15 y.o. son is working on his license now.

@@RaceMentally I think it was in the 50's. It was a long time ago and I've since sold it and stopped flying due to cost and budget constraints. I'm going to have to pass on that burger. I live on the east coast.

Never saw you work flaps. Where is the switch located. I love this plane.
There's a bar between the seats for the flaps. Completely out of frame. It's a great plane. Still working out well for me.

How tall are you? I’m 6’ 4” will I fit ?
I am 5' 9". I had someone over 6' in there once and they had to slouch. You probably want something bigger.

160. I get anywhere from 119 to 128 knots depending on conditions at 2300 rpm.
