It was great getting back into a RV-6 again (even though vicariously). I agree that the RV-6 is an exceptional aircraft and enjoyed mine for years and over 500 hours of flying to and from destination in the South and Western U.S. It made the regular $100 hamburger flights with friends to interesting destinations something eagerly anticipated. Treasure this time with your time machine.
RV’s are a jack-of-all-trade type of aircraft. They’re pretty fast but fixed-gear, and have decent shortfield takeoff/landing capabilities. You won’t win any STOL competitions, but you can get in & out of the same strips as the other bush aircraft (and outrun them on cross-country flights :D).
I currently have a cherokee 180 ive been building time in. The back seat was used once. I started looking at lance air 320 and the RV6 and now with the low stall speek im really thinking of getting the RV. my home airport is about 1600 usable in the woods on a hill.
I love my Bush-plane and I will always try to keep it. Nevertheless, if my resources would not be so limited, a RV would always find a warm place in my hangar, too. Nice video. Many happy landings.
Hi, the registration call sign is very interesting, ' GUNES ' , in my own language, Turkish, Güneş means Sun. And I definetly don't think it's a coincidence. First owner of the aircraft knew the meaning of the word and took the call sign as 'GUNES' in purpose I guess. By the way , very nice and a cool airplane. Have safe and blue skies.
Hi, You are correct about the registration of G-UNES. The original builder's wife was Turkish and he wanted to use the name G-UNES to represent the sun. Before he sold it to me he was going to put an image of the sun on it's fin. Hope this helps.
I bought an RV-6 last year. Thank goodness I did a good pre-buy. The bolts that hold the tail on were all installed improperly. That's the big problem with buying experimental....the quality of build varies WIDELY between novice builders. Great airplanes (if you can find a well built one). Caution...every single RV will be advertised as being built by a "meticulous builder"...usually an "engineer". Buyer beware! Also....how do you run over an airplane sign? Did you go off the taxiway?

The 6 offers the most RV for your money of all the models. Stunning aircraft!
