I am a biological female but my voice is very deep because I have high-levels of testosterone and twice within the last month, I had two complete strangers think I am a transwoman. One of them happened while I was getting taco bell and the man was fully like, "Here you go, SIR" and "Would you like sauce, SIR" even after seeing me at the drive-thru window he just doubled down even more. I didn't bother with correcting him. Truly it is so funny to me that someone would want so aggressively to be "right" and think that they're so good at clocking trans people that a fully cisgender woman has him confused

Another thing Peta doesn't understand about sheep. The wild ancestors of sheep used to shed their wool, but domestic sheep do not. They MUST be shorn. An overgrown fleece is heavy, may cover their eyes, and could even cause the sheep to overheat. Evidently, Peta has never seen a video of a sheep that got lost in the woods and was found later with a mountain of matted wool on its back

@@shadowcween7890 that's the problem. Peta pretends to care about animals. Their pet shelters have the highest rate of euthanasia of any rescue center, and they are known to "rescue" pets from their owner's porches. They release animals that have no chance of surviving in the wild. Peta might as well stand for People for the eradication and torture of animals, given their operational record.

PETA advertising and some of their policies are pretty counterproductive to the animal-rights cause, totally agree. But sheep in agriculture do have a shitty life, particularly in climates that are not their natural habitat, e.g. Australia, where there's three sheep for every human. That PETA poster misses all the worst issues they face.

And the strangest thing that I have experienced, was that I were called a tranphobe, because I asked about what trans man and trans woman actually is. All I did was to ask, because I did not know what the words mean at that point. But I have learned, that if one is unsure if they have it right or not, then just add the word into, between trans and what it is. Then you instantly know what it actually is. After letting him go on and laughing at him for a bit, we then politely informed him that I'm actually ftm, and had transitioned FROM being a girl. Callnight is right. I’ve seen grown men talk about wishing they could’ve “hit” bc it would’ve been cool to have sex with a teacher. It’s always the one who haven’t actually experienced that trauma. I’ve had women tell me they want it to happen to then bc it means they’re attractive. It’s really weird and kinda sad. What’s upsetting (as a female victim) is that when I come across posts from people supporting male victims there’s always hate/aggressive comments from other men. They just can’t relate or expect them to “man up or “go gym”.And some just can’t relate to women, so they don’t share bc most victims are women and if it happened to a man “it’s not as serious” or is taken as a joke. I’ve seen women say stuff against male survivors, but the people I’ve seen do it most are men. I’m very passionate about this because I hate the thought of what happened to me happening to someone else. Some people grow up thinking everything is someone’s fault and I think a lot of people tend to blame the victim because they’re the only one coming out with a story. I just hope we, women, men, and nb can help more people to understand and have sympathy for ALL victims.

When transphobes find out I'm trans, they don't know what to do, because I look like a guy, sound like a girl, don't get offended when they try to misgender me, and won't tell them what I was born as. It usually devolves into them begging me to tell them what's in my pants, at which point I tell them politely that this is both harassment and mental illness, and I hope they get well soon.

Erich Maria Remarque, the German author who wrote “All Quiet on the Western Front”, was persecuted by the Nazis. He was a WW1 veteran who thought there should never be war again. The traumatic experience of WW1 made him a vocal pacifist. He was very outspoken against war, militarisation, war mongering, etc - so the Nazis absolutely hated him. They 🔥 burned and outlawed his books, he had to flee Germany and live in exile, he was stripped of his German citizenship, etc. They executed his younger sister who stayed behind in Germany. So it is more than a bit stupid or ignorant to get this bit wrong and call the movie “anything Nazi”… considering that the author was literally persecuted by the Nazis because of the very book the movie was based on!

It was a thing--my laces were always twisted and my shoes came untied every 5 minutes. I was in my 20s, educated, employed, and unable to tie my own freaking shoes! I mocked myself while I looked up "How to tie your shoes," but immediately found out it was never my fault. I am left-handed. Very, very left handed. I grew up unable to imitate how right-handed people did things, because my brain didn't know to flip things backwards, and I was never specifically taught that this is a thing I needed to do differently from most of the other kids. I found a detailed diagram of shoe-tying, and re-taught myself to tie my shoes. As an adult, I had to purposefully build-up the muscle memory that most people had instilled when they were 5. But now, my shoes don't come untied! So, yeah, look up how to sew buttons back on your clothes, or how to properly clean a hardwood floor. We have the information right there for a reason!

The thing is, everything in the world is for right-handed people, so naturally me trying to open it with a left hand was bound to fail. Also, I've never had to use a curling iron, and then when I was well into my 20s I needed to help my dance team girls with their hair, and I struggled so much, because I could not figure out which way to twist it, even though it's very simple if you are right-handed.😢😅

I had a pretty similar thing happen to me, even though I'm not left handed. My parents 'taught' me to tie my shoes when I was 5 years old by standing 3 feet away from me saying look and then tying their own shoes quickly without explaining anything. Needless to say I couldn't figure out how to do it and they completely gave up even that after I couldn't instantly figure it out and just bought me velcro shoes while occasionally mocking me for it. At 20 I bought a pair of shoes with laces and looked up how to tie them for myself and got it after 10 minutes though I had to occasionally look up the steps again for the first week while I memorized it. Could have learned when I was 5 if they'd just bothered to actually teach me, still wish school would have taught me.

Parents fill and sign official papers for their children, here up until we turn 18 for most cases, but in some cases when it's not strict earlier is fine too. So when I turned 18 and hadn't needed to fill a single official paper with all kind of information before, she complained about me asking her to specify what I need to fill in to some spots and literally went "Don't they teach this at school?" My mom (over 50) has a coworker at her job that does that constantly, and she is incredibly annoyed by him, especially cuz he calls his son an idiot who is to lazy and dumb and never goes out to parties, she keeps telling hi 'would you rather have him gamble, drink, do drugs instead of playing video games and be a decent student'. She does the "ur generation doesn't even do x" only as a joke, but she understands how different modern generations are and that we lived in different wolds, and she is always willing to teach me life skills like cooking, cleaning and my dad teaches me handy work around the house.
It is apsolutly the parents fault if modern generations are failing at something, cuz we didn't raise our self's, they did, and I was one of the lucky few who had parents who understand that, and I hope all those unlucky will find ways of learning necessary life skills, like those adulting classes

@@aleksabanjevic8316 Luckily the internet is able to teach many different skills if you know how to look for it. But there is always a risk of finding dangerous or incorrect ways to do things (such as miracle cures instead of going to a doctor).

Here's something I've noticed with this topic: Kids don't really have the motivation to learn basic stuff, even when it's offered to them. (Of course, parents are to blame to, for not even offering.) Basic stuff like how to sweep or do laundry is taken for granted, until those kids grow up and figure out "Hey, I'm helpless" and they seek tutorials or videos to help them learn. Unfortunately, that's not always helpful because it's not really personal. Yes, it will help with some understanding of whatever you need help with, but actually teaching to where it'll actually be useful won't come until there's been a lot of trial and error.
I don't plan on having kids, but my sister already has two and I am willing to bestow any knowledge about how to cook, sew, clean, garden, etc that my sister is unable to give.
