One of my favorite pranks that was actually harmless was when this man (whose husband is blind) kept putting more of his own food onto his husband's plate to see how long it would take him to notice.

They prank each other, but it's always things that would really count as pranks - nothing malicious, just some little tricks, and they educate a bunch about being blind as well. I'm a recovering people pleaser. There have always been times when I just don't care what other people think. I think it's because I'm an ambivert. While I'm usually cripplingly shy around strangers, I'm the opposite with people I know and trust (friends and family, mostly). It's odd, but it's just how I've always been. Back before my body decided it hates me, I was almost always the first person out on any dance floor, though, I'd take someone with me.
A few years ago, I realized that people pleasing meant that I wasn't doing the things I wanted to do. It only took a septic infection and my mom's cancer diagnosis hitting at the same time (we're both okay) to make me realize that life is too short to spend it trying to vanish.
However, I wouldn't be inconsiderate enough to inconvenience people who are just trying to get some groceries. 😁

10:20 as a wheelchair user who can sometimes walk (a bit, with crutches or a walker) this is even more painful.
Sometimes wheelchair users aren’t paralysed. Sometimes we have other (very valid) reasons to need a wheelchair.
It’s even worse when we stand up to reach a shelf in the supermarket (which is usually painful/dangerous/exhausting/all of these things) and someone makes a joke about a miracle or something.
Standing briefly doesn’t mean that we don’t need wheels to get around. There are very few people who use a wheelchair without a valid reason. They are expensive, bulky, accessibility is a nightmare in most places, the cheaper ones are painfully uncomfortable, and it’s also hard work building the muscles you need to self-propel (or even more money, plus ongoing charging costs, plus issues with electric wheelchairs!).
Just assume disabled people know what they are doing with their lives! And if we want advice from random strangers, we will ask!

had an uncle in a wheelchair because he broke his back. nothing wrong with his legs, standing before it healed would just put weight on his spinal injury and be agonizing and risk further damage and paralysis. and it took him around 20 years to finish healing because backs heal slowly or not at all to avoid developing cancer in the spine, and because he had a really lousy doctor who saw conflicts in his prescriptions and decided to prescribe more for the symptoms of the conflicts instead of just switching them out for compatible ones or dropping them as they stopped being needed. he then had to relearn how to walk and that was absolutely not an instant thing since that's kind of exhausting after spending like half your life not only not walking but also in an unnecessary drug induced sleep.
know another guy in a wheelchair because he has to fight both stomach cancer and diabetes, can almost never keep anything down, so he's constantly malnourished and has a very limited amount of energy per day. he's constantly doing yardwork and projects from his chair. not having to always put that energy towards standing has allowed him to instead reserve it for his hobbies so that he doesn't just spend twice as much time asleep. being able to walk doesn't necessarily mean being able to live, it's fully within his rights and what control he has over his own life to choose the latter. there wasn't anything wrong with his legs either until the diabetes took one of them recently.
met a dude a while ago who uses a wheelchair because he has a bone disorder that causes them to break easily. i don't know if there is currently anything wrong with his legs, or at what point he started using the chair, that's not something I'd ask someone I had like all of 2 conversations with. But hypothetically, if i had to risk a broken bone from walking around tripping or bumping into things, i'd probably go to the chair to avoid that before it became a problem. Broken bones famously hurt and medical bills are expensive to the point that obviously no one wants to have to constantly deal with them. Even then, though, although i can imagine logical reasons for it, thinking about it in terms of 'what would make sense' doesn't even have to lead to the correct conclusion or even make sense to me at all because it's not my health or my chair. Society is way too obsessed with what everyone else is doing. Although it's good to know how health works to an extent and what options there are to deal with it, those are things that should be asked of doctors and maybe people who have expressed that they are *willing* to talk about it, not demanded of random strangers trying to go about their day as usual.
There are probably a million and a half reasons someone might be in a wheelchair, most of them aren't going to have anything to do with their legs, and absolutely none of them are any of anyone's business except for the person, their doctor, and those they like enough to openly talk about it to. We're not entitled to know, that's part of why doctors swear confidentiality. It's none of our dang business. Read up on health things you want to know about because it's good to learn, don't harrass and interrogate people who might have these health things to accuse them of whatever.

It’s often safer for me to be in a wheelchair if I cannot sit down at any time, and I use crutches the rest of the time I’m trying to move around anyways.

Also, we never got rid of the plague, it's still here. Madagascar gets massive outbreaks every year, and the US gets about 4-6 cases in humans a year with more occuring in dogs and cats that foolishly messed with an infected rodent. Also, the pandemic known as "The Black Death" lasted about 300 years in successive waves every other decade before finally winding down in the 1600s. The first wave back in the 1300s is usually what most people mean when they say "Black Death" though, and it had the most fatalities associated with it, though make no mistake - the others were horrific too, and still saw the usage of plague pits and corpsecollectors (people paid to pick up the corpses of those who died from the disease to carry to the plague pits - the pay was actually quite good, but unsurpisingly the job had high mortality rates) during them as well, because in the hard hit areas conventional burial methods couldn't keep up with the death rate, and in some cases whole villages were wiped out with no survivors.

There is also the matter of distribution: The plague never reached total global distribution during the pandemic.
Think about it, it did not run across the globe in 300 years of cycles, it spread mostly through Europe, with cases also seen in Asia.
Covid spreaded globally in a matter of months. No other disease has the death rate The Plague has.
As an example, Covid with a global distribution has a mortality rate of around 3%. The plague had something around 60% (estatistically speaking), but the total volume is so much bigger, because of how long the pandemic was with no medical science advanced enough to mitigate it.
So, any way you choose the break this down, using the plague as an argument against vaccines is just brain dead.
ps: People often forget, but the plague did eventually got to the Americas via San Francisco. And the only reason it did not evolved into a new pandemic because of the efforts of a small group of people and their sheer tenacity.

6:22 In like, 7th grade, I had a classmate that was known for sexually harrassing other girls, he also had a still healing scar on his forehead from an accident, his behaviour was so bad that ppl associated the injury with said behaviour as a form of revenge (As offensive as a 7th grader could be, still a bad thing to do anyways) honestly, even years back it's pretty obvious he brought upon himself all on his own. The catch was that he had a twin (On another classroom) I personally didn't knew that, among others, and when I walked around the school and saw who I thought was clearly my classmate I immediately got away from him (Again, sexual harassment) and gave him the stink eye without knowing IT WAS THE TWIN. All because of brother's behaviour (Don't know if he was the same or not, I'll never know but now I feel bad bc it was obvious the blatant social rejection affected him for something he hadn't done) this is the same, you're basically setting someone that's innocent from criminal charges set upon the person that looks like him and now he'll probably be accused of some pretty horrible things he didn't do...

That's not entirely true. Only fraternal twins can naturally develop physical differences like that. Fun fact, Tia and Tamera are actually Fraternal twins not identical twins, they use make-up to cover the features that make them look different so they can pass for identical on camera. They had admitted this in an interview after they turned 18, studios love working with identical twins because of child labor laws they can only work so many hours a day and having a set of twins playing the same character lets them split the work load between both kids so they don't go over their hours. Tia and Tamera were never actually identical though but they could appear to be once they got into make-up.
Of course if one twin were to get a tattoo or something and the other didn't they could look different that way but that wouldn't be part of their natural development. The only natural thing that would be different are their finger prints.
