      I mean, Kickstart just funded the project (aka actually push the guy to finish the project) He originally started it but kept pushing it back to create even more memorable projects that would be used in films...so if anything, Kickstart was just a nudge to have him complete what he originally wanted to finish. It's like buying a rare junker car and saying, "I'll fix it up!" and you never get around to it and then you get a mechanic shop that comes out to help finish what you've been putting off

    It makes me think of that one time I had a job interview at a subway, and at the end, the manager told me he wasn’t actually hiring and the store was fully staffed. He said that he liked to conduct interviews anyway to practice his interview skills, and to keep the staff on their toes because they knew if someone good enough came along, he would hire that person and fire one of the team members.

Making someone go through an interview for a job they may really need, all with no intention of hiring of them, it's such an evil and shitty thing to do. I know what it's like looking for literally any job that would hire me, and the cost of even getting to a location for an interview was a lot at that time.

      The wrath of god is coming over us cause we killed him. The alchemists goal is decrypting the world completely which leads to god status. The hunger for understanding this world is shared by artists who get activated by that Hunger and attack the machine (system/order) but end up getting adopted and consumed by it. Capitalism takes it's critics and makes money out of it (Marx Merch).

    The dude with long fingernails has some symbolism. He simply drops people into a hellish landscape while he does absolutely nothing aside from that. Why cut your nails when you don't need to work?
    The colorful bugs actually have guns at their poker table. They could've very much saved the spider from being eaten, but they didn't
    The part where you talk about how man is doomed to repeat itself with the scene with all the funky space stuff, the OST piece that plays is called Oroboran, derived from the word Ouroboros. Ouroboros is the concept of man's inevitability to repeat itself in an infinite cycle of destruction and rebirth. It's also the symbol of that serpent eating itself from its tail in a circular cycle

Now, celebrities are having more children who inherit their status as false gods, and the cycle continues. This movie captures these critical flaws in our society and you have done a damn fine job of illuminating those flaws in depth. Great job!

    One thing I noticed is the pod that the Assassin is descending in is similar to a diving bell, a device people use to explore the deep ocean, where humans were never meant to be, home to God knows how many unknown horrors that we can only really imagine. Also, in the bell there's a bird cage with a bird's skeleton in it. A reference to how miners back in the day would carry a canary in a birdcage to warn them of poisonous gas. The fact that the bird is nothing but a skeleton tells us that we're joining the Assassin as his journey is well underway, and he passed the point of no return long ago.

    The assassin’s bomb stopping before detonation and then repeating at 1 to 2 seconds reminds me of how our Scientific Doomsday Clock keeps being set to 30 seconds before midnight, and the futility reminds me that despite our efforts to save the world, or make lasting peace and change, everything gets worse.
    The assassin’s mission is essentially to destroy “the system” of man which will reset civilization, because we have failed.
    The random trinkets found within the Assassin’s chest were things the assassin loved or cherished, showing his own individuality.
    I believe the slug-baby is Hope, which essentially would be the possibility of radical change. The hope is morphed, re-altered, and used in a ritual to witness visions of either paralleled universes or the past and the future.
    I think the Alchemist is a representation of the leader of whichever party, nation, or group has the most control/power over the world, hence their desire to maintain their control.
    (Additionally,
    I am aware that the Alchemist wants to remain the one in control AND he is the one who is deploying the assassins to reset current civilization. Fighting both sides, doing whatever it takes to be leading the winning side. Like how billionaires leading our current industries could save the world, but rather things become as extreme as possible for maximum profits and to have their consumers and employees as in much need as possible.)

    The scene with the assassin being operated on and having books and jewelry ripped out of its chest honestly made me think about personal interests and individuality. The assassins are considered "dispensable" beings being used for a "higher" purpose but they are still individual in their own right based on their interests in literature, art, fashion, etc. Much like us, normal every day folk, who are seen as dispensable by big corps, governmental bodies, and the 1%, etc. We still have interests, passions, and loves that are often extinguished due to living in a capitalistic hellscape, not having enough time, or straight up running out of time and dying. I don't know, that scene really hit me. The idea of being seen as a puppet or dispensable yet having these passions and things that make us individual and who we are but ultimately having those things stripped from us without a care by the ultra rich who don't spare us a single thought so long as money is lining their pockets is heart breaking.

Rather that everyone has an opportunity to be that “rich” person should you choose it which has a cost to it. I might not be financially rich. But I am rich in life: family, friends, food, shelter even if it’s meager. Anything is better than nothing at all.

    As disturbing as I find most of the aspects of this film, there’s no doubt it is an animation masterpiece. I’m glad Phil was able to see his vision realized, even if it was 30 years after its inception. Not to mention just how raw and unrelenting it is. It’s the very definition of “they don’t make them like they used to,” even if the film released in 2021.

I managed to set aside a few bucks to grab the "Psychedelic Explore Your Mind" hoodie, the "Ayylien Psychedelic Crewneck"(love the colors), the "Unraveling The Infinite Unknown Tee", and I'm still waiting on the "See The Universe Tee"; which I'm sure will be just as great. Thanks again for everything you do brotherman, and keep the amazing clothes coming. I'll definitely be ordering again as soon as alienly possible.

    The car that the second assassin drives is a Kubelwagen which was a slightly armored car used a lot by higher rank Germans on the front lines. He also drives by a Kettentrad which was a smaller half-track bike. Used a lot on the front lines by Germans, but really not liked. So I don't know if the German equipment on the front lines of the war scene are meant to mean something.

    • @ImNotHere222
      @ImNotHere222 Před 3 měsíci +14

      I feel so strongly about this. I've always tried so hard to be a good, kind person, and suffered with SUD because of major depression. I was arrested and faced consequences because I was on dr*gs and needed help. People think that anyone who has been arrested must have deserved it. They love to watch perverse shows like Cops or similar tasteless broadcasts of people at their lowest point in life. They think, "wow, that could never be me." All it takes is one bad day, one wrong move, being at the wrong place at the right time. I never imagined I could have been a target for a police officer. And my kindness won out in my favor and they treated me with as much respect as I was possibly going to get in that scenario, but it didn't change my fate. No one, NO ONE, that is in prison or jail or that has been in those places ever grew up "planning" for it. Life happens, things happen to us and we eventually realize how none of us are exempt from the system. I pity the fool that thinks they are above the law, as they will find out the hard way how askew their moral compass truly is.

    • @mamamillwright458
      @mamamillwright458 Před 3 měsíci

      @rtbwolf
      In all honesty, I don't think a high percentage. But let's give numbers. There are roughly 1.2 million ppl incarcerated. (2022 numbers) Let's say 10 % are innocent. That's still 120k innocent. Day after day, there's another man that's been released from prison after serving a 20-year sentence of being falsely accused of r@pe or redrum. And, "DNA finally proved his innocence." That's a lifetime you can't get back. The loss of entire family and friends because they also believed your guilt. Now, you're tossed back out into a society you don't understand. Social rules and technology has completely changed. Many have found it a fate worse than death. They end up taking their own life because there's no foothold for them. That's one innocent life too many.

      "Do you know what the difference is between my past and yours? You got caught!"
      It didn't make either one of us better. But it's true. It's the only thing that separates us. From those on the inside and the others on the outside.

      @EQ_EnchantX Před 3 měsíci +4

      @@rtbwolf What percentage of people deserve to be there is a better answer. Is someone smoking a joint with some weed in his pocket deserving of prison time?Crimes that have no victims should not be a crime.
      Many drug laws make drug use which is a health issue even worse for the user who is suffering from a health problem.
      It hurts society due to the drain on taxes, time, personnel and more.
      It does not stop the drugs and in fact has made them more expensive and more profitable for the sellers.
      Allows intrusion into a freedoms because "drugs are bad".
      So honestly, about half of the prison population is non violent drug offenders who IMO should not be locked up for having 2 consenting adults agreeing to a transaction that directly hurts nobody except themselves.

    25:52 (the bit about having control over others when you have little control yourself) is actually really interesting and exists in literature about racial oppression. audre lorde in particular wrote about homophobia in the black communities in america; she basically argued that the oppressed, as an attempt to self-elevate or as a will to power, will adopt characteristics of their oppressors. ta-nehesi coates observed something similar with violence in his community growing up as a will to power. both very worth reading if youre interested in the topic!

After Noah and his family exited to Ark, instead of “multiplying and filling the earth“ their descendants decide to build a tower to the heavens. God confuses the languages to cause the people to separate, because “nothing they conceive will be beyond them”. The modern day parallel to this can be seen as the technocratic globalist elites (NATO, the WHO, the WEF, etc)
