  • So there is so much he said she said stuff online building these engines. everyone has there 2 cents and most have no sense giving you information lol. So it's a toss up what's what. google search pretty much useless these days cause half the crap posted is randomly though up by people it seems at times with no actual proof or factual information to back up the claims!
    I'm sure there is a few people that have built 100 of these and there on whole other level. majority though are not. It seems many want to build this type of Build! So here we go! I have never built one before! No idea the outcome and if it tanks will figure out how to fix it along the way! Learning process and I figured I bring you all along for the ride! so if you get the itch to try a build like this you can see my failures and such along way or what I was told really works!
    Funny Fact --- So as far as the number the machine generated are just funny numbers. The guy said next to impossible to do that by hand or even with machine lol! Literally dropping it on a table or bouncing it in your hand could offset those number in insane amounts! Just first spin up and it dropped that lol But those numbers actually changed every time messed with it. Still near perfect for a crank! but first values where stupidly impressive lol!
    It's a fun hobby to screw with stuff like this! If your up for the task find it fun to try go for it! never know till you try right? Anyhow be safe and part 5 will be coming shortly!

    I like how you broke down the individual weights of all the bottom end components and the amount of weight reduction at different drill depths with a given drill diameter. I just did one on the drill press at work, and can't wait to reassemble it and see how it does. Thank you for providing us DIY folks with all these resources!

      What did I do now? ever time I nail something my wife yells at me to take the f'n 500 nails out of it now lolz crank? lol You think that ones nice! Should see my 46.5mm piston 50mm stroke crank all stainless steel with carbide crank weights! took me 3 moths cut that thing from 4 inch blocks stainless lol! Thing is like riding harley thump thump thump idle smooth glass when you ride it though!

    Dam bro you are very knowledgeable about these motors and nice work I chatted with you yesterday have another question on my yd100 rebuilding the top half when changing the rings piston and wrest pin bearing do you have to replace the cylinder head someone told me you want them both new so that they can marriage together better your opinion if I need a cylinder I can get a new one from Amazon no problem

      In an idea situation yes! you want both new! chrome liner normally will flake when you add a new piston into the mix shortly down the road! btw if you like to use NGK plugs! Super nice hack when installing new head! some place on that play list yd100. I cut 2 fins with hack saw did whole how to makes adding any plug you want super easy!

      @@BuildBreakFix bro I seen that video I do that so I can use any spark plug 1 more question how come the cast iron minaralli cylinder comes with a window piston and the athina minaralli aluminum cylinder piston doesn't have a window just a little notch and the piston is perfect 47mm I thought when you have Reed valve you have to use a window piston?your thoughts do you have to have a window

      miller okay the iron ones have windowed piston. The aluminum one your mentioning has a boost port. The reed window is cut into the jug wall. I have a yd100 with one I'll link a video of it.

So close to ring snag cause of it. Buy had to be tried lol. Minarelli though is designed for it. Yes that's a yd100 I cut the top off it 😁👍

    I'm doing an ms440 build what balance should I do I already have the simple 3-hole balance on my 40mm crank with the big hole in the mid and the 2 small holes on the side? IM stuck on having a good balance for my engine, it would be nice if you could help me get a simple decent balance

      There is no 100% sure thing.

      Correct timing on ms460. Don't screw up your squish like most do. It should be 1.4mm ish when your done and it will run forever little error! These top ends are designed that way* With more power then you need. Easily drive 32t or 30 without effort on starting out.       @@BuildBreakFix also can I use a 40mm stroke crank won't the piston hit the top of the cylinder if it does can't I use some gasket that will raise the cylinder or make a spacer to counteract it

      @@untitledduck9675 ms440 is a 34mm stroke build! so if you used a 38mm crank with 116mm rod (any high hole rod) you would need a spacer of 2-3mm on a 80cc china doll bottom end to get squish of 1.2mm like that ms440 required to function correctly! never built one personally but just looking at specs listed for it. That would be my guess! 2-3mm spacer for those. not the piston striking top inside so much it's the piston striking plug tip about 1 mm past tip of it. If you used a (40mm Crank) your timing would be off by 11 degrees on intake and 7 degree on exhaust making it run pretty rough. The exhaust wont be fully open! 38mm crank you will be off 2mm each direction of the piston from factory! 40mm crank you would be 3mm off! which does not sound like much but when ports already don't fully open close on 38mm stroke cause lowest you can get. Extra 1 mm really does make huge change!
