The video I've been seeking for months.

Awesome tutorial. Thanks!! Here's some stuff I've learned servicing these machines. I use alcohol to clean with. I use the longer wood handle q-tips to get in deeper to the machine. I use dry graphite lube, so it doesn't get gooked up with tobacco dust. If you hit the power button (power off) after activating the machine, it will stop the spoon while extended. Makes it easier to get all those slides and gears lubed/cleaned. I use the round brush that comes with it to clean the spoon/tube with. I use my tray to clean the machine on, because sure as shooting, somethings gonna fall out and hit the floor. (a screw usually) that way it stays on my tray and not in the carpet. The "gate" is actually a "knife", it cuts the tobacco to close off the tube before pushing. I clean that edge too, because it gets tarred up with tobacco. I figure the warranty is over at 20k smokes, so I service it at about every 25-30k. I "process" (cut) my tobacco in an old 2 blade vegetable chopper. I roll for four family members, so I'm up to about 18 cartons a month. That neo magnet on the screwdriver is a key element. Saves a ton of headaches. Anyways, this is the best english speaking tutorial I've seen on maintaining these machines. Thanks again. Now I'm off to check out your other vids too.

friend, anti-seize contains powered metal and is a poor general lubricant.
it's primarily used on bolt threads in very high heat applications; for example, exhaust manifold bolts.
bolt threads are very commonly deformed by very high heat, especially high heat/cooling cycles. they also oxidize quickly in high heat.
the powdered metal in anti-seize is a gap-filler and also will not oxidize coherently with iron oxide. (different "rusts" won't bond.)
the lubricant in anti-seize holds the powdered metal and makes the threaded bolt easier to remove.
industries with high-heat application machinery use it by the gallon.

I have owned mine for the past three years. I have reset the lifetime counter on it once before but I can’t remember how the regular counter of course is obvious and easy to do. I keep it well-maintained instead of using the brush to clean it out I use my vacuum hose, cleans it out very well. I also shred my tobacco before I put it in so it’s faster. I conquered putting tubes on the machine in the dark. That’s how used to it I am I wouldn’t own another one for the rest of my life. Thank you for the wonderful video. Poof!

A pound of shredded tobacco costs me $13-$15. Two boxes of tubes cost me $8 unless on sale. On sale, they are $2+, some change for 200-250 tubes.
Me and my wife went through two cartons a week minimum, but our average weekly was around $250. We now only spend around $23-$46 a week, depending on if I'm making more for future use. 😂

I used this video as a dry run to clean up my machine. Everything went smoothly and the powermatic 3+ is rolling great cigs again. I buy whole leaf tobacco on the internet and shred it with the Powermatic S (the best... in my opinion). The leaf costs about $14/# but I dont have to sift through the packaged tobacco to pull out the hard stuff that might make a bad cig. But then again... I spend extra time getting the whole leaf ready to shred..... 6 of this ...1/2 dozen of that!!!

according to the manufacturer, all you need to do is spray air through the hopper and use WD40 on the spoon area. This can be done without taking it apart.

Thank you so much for this video! My machine was running just fine, as a matter fact, I’ve made over 35,000 cigarettes and thought I might just give it a little maintenance. After using my air compressor on a low setting, my machine started making weird noises and the hopper light kept coming on
I was pretty nervous about getting into the machine, but you gave me confidence. Great job on the packing tape idea. Also, when I noticed how much tobacco came out of your machine, I figured my air compressor just packed tobacco in places it shouldn’t be, and that’s why I’m having issues.
Thank you for the confidence and can’t wait to get into my machine tomorrow. God bless.

I just recently purchased my 2nd Powermatic III+. The 1st one was purchased back in 12/2019. She lasted a GOOD year & 1/2, before she broke. NOT complaining! With the 2nd one I just purchased (2 days ago), I decided to also add a 4-year warranty for it (from Asurion) -- which only cost $31.98. (I didn't have the option to add a warranty on the 1st one, and that 1st one's ALREADY been PAST it's manufacturer's warranty.) STILL, I'm DEFINITELY going to watch your video -- as it may give me some helpful info; thanks!

( The black area of the machine, on the bottom, separated from the rest of it -- leaving a wide, open gap. I can't get it back together. Offhand, I don't remember what happened to cause that. I was almost ready to buy another machine in case this one broke, but after reading all the comments (which were very informative) and watching your video, I'm going to hold off buying another one.
QUESTION: where can I get replacements for the little silicone tube that holds the cigarette tube in place?
Yesterday mine split in half and keeps falling off. For now I'm going to try to fix it with some Teflon tape. I'm not sure that will work but it might keep it going until I can find those little replacement silicone tubes.
I appreciate any help you can give me. And once again thank you for the video

I think that silicone tube could be replaced with a small rubber band. Like those used by dentists for braces. Other options that come to mind are: plastic oxygen tubing, surgical tubing, or the rubber from a wire insulation on a SO electrical wire (Home Depot) #8 - 3. Hope this was helpful

I saw you wiped most of the excess off, but I hope that all the dust doesn't cling to what you couldn't get off and turns to sludge for the next cleaning/maintenance. Not sure how well it would hold up to spraying electronic parts cleaner next time, lol. Worst case scenario, that machine made you money in a month's time if it's fubar next service.

Gotta be a bad power switch or power cord. Easy enough to check continuity on both with a multimeter. If those both check good, I would follow the hot lead off the switch to the PC board and make sure there isn't a cold solder joint where it attaches.
