@@pikabununify that's not even remotely correct. Joker doesn't make "bad jokes". He makes either dark twisted jokes in a threatening manner, or sinister puns with campiness (see The Animated Series). He doesn't make corny puns and zingers for the sake of laughter ala Deadpool or Trickster.

Yeah, but Johnny Charisma actually had a good voice actor and, at least in my opinion, great dialogue. This Joker feels like a kid that likes to say “You actually didn’t hit me because I dodged your attack” when having a Nerf fight.
Edit: After watching more clips, the voice actor is actually pretty good on most lines. But this Joker still sucks.

It would've been the perfect chance for Rocksteady to actually acknowledge what a stupid decision turning the Joker into a brute was. Aw well. This game is giving them plenty of chances to acknowledge their mistakes in future games, that's for sure.

Well he seems to be reacting very sadly. He knew the low income was converted into a prison, but tried running as mayor. Obv he didn't decide to fight it out as it was useless. He was wiser, most likely. He said that it went horribly as going for Mayer most likely because all the criminals were engaging in chaos. Guess he ran off when he realized they were gonna kill everyone. He let batman know he wanted to lead but couldn't when they were gonna be in a death trap.

Something Is WRONG with this Joker!
He doesn't really stand out. There isn't any real hint of menace, malice, and insanity in the delivery. Also the dialogue is kind of meh.
I understand Hamill wasn't going to reprise his role for obvious reasons, but they couldn't find another actor with a less generic voice or at least a more pronounced inflection or tone? Maybe it's not the actor, maybe the casting directing wasn't there since that's also kind of important for a new performance to break in?

The last Arkham game was Arkham Knight
if you got the true ending of Arkham Knight, it clearly implies that batman didnt die, but simply faked his death and lived in the shadows...and even potentially weaponized scarecrows fear toxin to put extra fear in the criminals.
Arkham ended in a fine way. Bruce can no longer hide his secret identity, which puts everyone associated with him in danger. He blows up Wayne Manor, fakes his death, and continues to terrorize the criminals of Gotham from the shadows.
But there are two things wrong with how they handle it here. First, they straight up call him the Demon Bat. The entire point of Arkham Knight’s ending was that we didn’t know what was happening. Did Batman end up using fear toxin? Did someone else use it so he could look like a terrifying version of Batman? Who knows? It was mysterious, the imagery was amazing, and it was a good ending that let the player decide. And second, what’s the point of the ending of Arkham Knight if he just comes back and joins the Justice League? There was no reason to connect this to the Arkham universe. Do it like Gotham Knights, give us a different continuity. You can’t just be all “Oh yeah, and then the entirety of the Justice League showed up.” I mean, come on. You don’t think THAT warrants a game more than THIS shit? Batman meeting the other superheroes and forming the Justice League?

I like to think it's azrael taking over the role of batman, using the fear toxin. While batman, Alfred and Catwoman are retired.
It was confirmed by Batman he had used fear toxin to scare the criminals not as bad as he did Scarecrow who is still broken to this day like Harley said but she learned how to make some of her own toxin.
Even if PlayStation offer this game for free I will not be playing. After being burned by Gotham Knights and seeing what became of the once great Rocksteady thanks to the likes of Sweet Baby, I'll stick to playing the original trilogy. I so wanted this game to be good 😢

The only DLC that would be worth it for this game is if some DC character took a page out of Deadpool 2s ending and went back in time to prevent this games story from happening (thus preserving the real 4 Arkham games story/quality), followed by Gotham Knights and Batman Dark Tomorow as a bonus.
