    I really like your videos. You are so calm cool and collected. And you get to the point, you analyze well, without fluff. That is called professional. I love the chapter markers as well. Keep up the good work.

    excellent find but IMHO, want to use it, you'll find a way, people like us will modifiy it. and as I see it. is to use the original clip system, switch the Rx cases if it opens easily, if not, last resort file off the cold shoe. good luck.

    Given that the new X4 is 4.5mm thicker than the X3, I wonder if the DJI MIC2 will now be invisible?

      Yeah I'm digging for some insight on the combo of the Mic 2 and X4. I have the Mic 2, hoping it works perfectly on the X4 before I pull the trigger on that.

    Great video and other ones. I was looking at the DJI Mic2 for my Insta360 X3 to be used alongside the Insta360 tripod car mount to capture exhaust sound of my car, but now not sure what to do. Should I look at DJI Mic as I do not want anything in the stitch line? Wired vs. Wireless, surely wired microphones would give you the best results?

    • @gwebster65
      @gwebster65  Před 17 dny

      Connecting via the mic adapter/receiver is better quality, but not by much. You could also just use the onboard recording function of the Mic 2 transmitter - that would actually be the best quality (particularly for your application), but does mean extra work, syncing the audio and video files in post.

      @@gwebster65 thanks. I am no expert at all regarding audio/video editing so keeping it simple is a must for me. I am worried about the stitch line due to the cold shoe of Mic2 hence why I would look at the previous version just called Mic. Though again if I used wired microphones connected to the USB-C to 3.5mm jack and used the built-in audio recording of the X3 then synching would not be needed and audio would be better? In my application where I am mounting a X3 tripod on the car and wanting to capture the cars exhaust sound, placement of the microphone(s) is crucial and will require testing. If you were to position a wired mic solution, what would that be?

    Thanks for making this video. I've been searching for a bracket that would work with the DJI Mic 2 and the X3. However, I would guess that the cold shoe mount would show in any bracket that it is placed in. Too bad, so sad.

      @gwebster65  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I just received Xmount360's latest mount. I still need to run some tests, but it should help minimize the visibility of the receiver in the stitch line. I will post an update when I can.

    Question so you can connect the microphone to it with Bluetooth? Or the receiver with Bluetooth?

    • @gwebster65
      @gwebster65  Před měsícem +1

      The stand-alone microphone can connect by BT. Connecting the receiver to the X3 is via the "Mic Adapter" which plugs into the USB port.

    I thought the DJI Mic 2 was bluetooth capable and did noit require a receiver to be used with the insta 360 X3.

    • @gwebster65
      @gwebster65  Před 4 měsíci

      You are correct, but some people might want to use the receiver for better quality and signal stability

      @gwebster65 ok, thanks. I ordered just the transmitter before I saw this video because it did not require a receiver to work with with the X3. I should get the mic in a few days.

      I was using the mount from Xmount360 (amzn.to/4bU659M). I think it might be back-ordered currently.

    This is an outstanding video! Thank you for this. I'm getting ready to check out your other video which may answer this question but how bad was the bluetooth connection directly from tx to 360? I just bought a transmitter standalone from DJI but planning on getting a 360 down the road to use for motovlogging by attaching the 360 to handlebars with the transmitter on my helmet.

    Does the X4 have this issue too? lord I just ordered the DJI mic 2, the audio adaptor & mount only to find out they'll all be showing in my stitch line, what sort of nonsense is this?

    • @gwebster65
      @gwebster65  Před 16 dny

      Actually, the X4 is a bit thicker than the X3, which although that's generally a negative, has the benefit that the DJI Mic 2 receiver can now more effectively "hide" in the stitch-line.

    Hello. Maybe you know information, can this microphone work with insta360 one rs 1-inch 360? Only a microphone without a transmitter, such as the one sold with the Jai Osmo Pocket 3 combo. I bought the Insta360 ONE X2 / ONE RS 1-Inch 360 Edition Mic Adapter New and it works with a wired microphone. But I would like to know about the wireless microphone.

    • @gwebster65
      @gwebster65  Před 5 měsíci

      As long as the One RS has a bluetooth microphone option (may be called "airpods" in the menu), it should work just fine.

    Love your stuff. Are there any cheap wireless alternatives to the DJI Mic 2 to be used with the X3? Mic 2 seems great, and I can buy just the mic TX for $99, but wondering if there is a good quality alternative that also is wireless, and works with the X3 built in Bluetooth protocol.
    Another option is using an inexpensive wireless mic where the RX plugs directly into the USB-C slot on the X3. (Lots of cheap options there) but
    1) does the USB-C pin layout allow ANY Bluetooth USB-C RX to work?
    2) the Bluetooth receivers plug in 90 degree and protrude outside the stitch line. I cannot find ANY adapters that rotate 90 degrees, allowing a Bluetooth mic RX to plug in parallel to the camera stitch line.

    • @gwebster65
      @gwebster65  Před 5 měsíci

      Most BT microphones should work and in most cases will be better than the built-in mics at distance. At $99 I would say that the stand-alone DJI is great value.

    • @gwebster65

      Same will apply to the X2, but because it’s slightly slimmer than the X3, the new Mic 2 receiver will be even more visible.

    So will the DJI Mic 2 Transmitter connect directly to the 360 X3 without a reciever, and as a motorcyclist I can leave the transmitter in my helmet to capture audio whilst recording? So it will capture what I say?
