- Finding a good motovlog setup takes time. For the past year, I've used the DJI Osmo Action 3 on all my travels, with various audio solutions. A few month back DJI released a newer version of the camera, the DJI Osmo Action 4. With the help of DJI Europe, I received this camera and the DJI MIC 2 for testing and comparison.

Brilliant episode. Clear, concise and wonderfully presented. Chapeau
I'm just starting out vlogging, this is the best video out there! Excellent! Thank-you!
Fantastic video! I have absolutely no experience with this stuff. It was really enlightening, especially the comparisons you set up.
Beautifully and thoroughly presented! You'd be a great teacher!
You never disappoint with everything you do, including making a video of your audio/video equipment. I was on the fence with which system to use but now after watching this video, it’s an easy choice. I love how it can Bluetooth audio and keeping out the moisture of a wired system. Thank you for spending the time and sharing this information.
thank you for this upload, i think thats the best one on the internet about these devices
Excellent video been waiting to get a set up just to record a few trips going to look into this one thanks for a great video
Great breakdown! Thanks! To me this seemed like a really good camera as well. This along many other reviews people give, makes it worth considering to me.
Wow, what a great review. Really pointed out the important parts. Made me jump straight into Amazon and snoop around 🙂👍🏼👌🏼
Great stuff Runa, thanks for sharing!!!!
Awesome video! Very informative. You do a wonderful job! Best!
Great video. I'm sold. Thank you for this.
Love to see you after quiet a few days 🧑🚀🏍️❤❤
Thanks Runa. That was very good. You have a natural talent for presenting. I like how you lay out everything logically and have live backup or screen titles to explain what you are talking about. It's very obvious how much effort and thought has gone into your video and how focused you are to deliver quality, appropriate and concise information to your viewers, Kudos to you. I am not a vlogger, just a regular guy who likes to ride. I have a GoPro Hero Black 7 ... only because it was a gift from my son. Works fine for me. I use it with an aftermarket remote that I stick in the tank area so I can start and stop footage. I can vouch for it's durability. On a trip to BC the camera mount broke and fell off and slid down the road while I was doing about 120 KPH. I went back and picked up the camera thinking at least I'll salvage the SD card, but besides a few scratches on the case it's still working as well as ever 2 years on.
I do have a question on a completely different, unrelated and personal note... You don't have to answer this if you don't want to... But I have to ask if you can tell us the story behind each of the tattoos we see 😊 Cheers Mark in Canada
Thank you very much, appreciate it! 😊 It's different making these kind of videos, all planned out! 😂
I started moto vlogging with two GoPro Hero 7 Black's! Good camera for a much lower price than these new cameras. Only issue was, they kept freezing up. In the middle or in between recording, it would just stop and no buttons working. I had to take out the batteries to restart the. This caused me a lot of frustration and even worse; lost footage. I did some research and realized this was a fairly normal issue with GoPro, even in the newer models. Which is why I changed for DJI in the first place 😊 I'm glad to hear yours is working well, I'm sure most of them do!
For the tattoos, not a whole lot of stories behind them, I'm pretty impulsive 😂
Great video. I'm looking improve the audio in my videos. Thanks for sharing your experience.
So great DJI sent you two Osmo Action 4 to try out. Like I have mentioned before I bought two of them when they got released and I am really pleased with the quality, batterylife, how good it can handle really cold winter weather and much more. I had OA3 before and loved it, but OA4 have way better quality and it is also possible to adjust sharpness and noise reduction.
I also ditched GoPro and went to this exact same set up, the Mic 2 is amazing along with the DJI Osmo Action 4. Amazing quality and very practical! Great video Runa!
Nice to hear! I'm looking forward to use it on a longer trip and really get to know the setup. So far I love it 😊
@@OffSheGoesADV You'll love it for sure, I've bought a 2nd Mic 2 as you only get 6 hours or so from the battery. DJI have certainly won me over! Love what you're doing Runa, really enjoying your adventure!
That was a perfect review Runa! I've always used GoPro camera's so far. Why? To be honest, just because I thought they are the best. Now I've seen why I definately should switch to DJI. You gave me more than one reason to do so. Battery, low light quality, price and more. So a huge thank you from the Netherlands for this review!!
Nice camera. Also, I love your channel, thank you :)🙏
Great video, it was very helpful. Thank you 🙂👍🏼
A most excellent video! Thank you very much!
Thanks for this. Brilliant video.
I’ve got the same set up. Awesome combo, great video and audio and no faff with extra wires.
What a great presentation. A wealth of information.
Really good review! Thanks!
Thanks for all the good info. very interesting I use the insta360 x3 and a gopro but unlike you I just play around with it. and now you got me interested in the DJI going to take a look at it soon. where ever you are one the world have fun ride safe
Great info thanks! I just dumped my GoPro stuff for the Insta360 and am trying that route. I also now have the DJI Mic 2 setup. Depending on how things go, I may look at the Ace Pro for helmet mount. It all costs so much money! But, like you say, we've got to keep the video and the audio interesting and accurately capturing our experiences. Again, thanks. Ride safe!
I just bougth my DJI Osmo Action 4 Combo before watching your video and I am pretty happy with my choice Runa. 🙏❤
Niiiiiiice, you know about it, thanks for the info, safe ride all times😊😊
Well Runa you have convinced me to change from my crappy GoPro to this thanks !
Cameras sure have come a long way since I stopped using my Fugi A-10 which I thought had excellent capabilities for video and static shooting but yours - WOW !!
🎉 Good job 🎉
❤ Thanks for information ❤
Great review and very informative
Just picked up a Action 3 and DJI wireless mic and so far have been very impressed with the quality. Ive noticed alot of youtubers switching to DJI from Go Pro due to the constant issues
Well I apparently have really gone down the Off She Goes rabbit hole 🤔 watching, fully enjoying and learning from a technical video of camera equipment I don’t even own! Cant wait for the videos on motorcycle tires ☺️. Safe travels 😸
Hahah, really appreciate that 😃
CUT...that's a wrap. No editing needed. Yes the DJI is making big waves in the industry...others are playing catch up. Great information. Garth
I’m thinking of starting to video my rides not for the tube but just for memories this has helped me a lot thank you . I was thinking of just buying a camera and adding bits as I go but as you say here in the uk the osmo kit is a slightly cheaper option.good as I may do it for a while and not do it again and waste of time and money .thank you again for the helpfull information 🏍🎉👍
Nice vid! Friendly and informative. Thanks! 👌👍😊
Glad you liked it! 😊
Great review, thank you. I currently use the Action4 and Gopro. Agree with everything you said except the wide FOV Field of View. Wider takes away the detail in scenery. It flattens everthing and objects and people seem further from you than they appear with your eyes. Also magnifies your speed, makes you appear to be moving faster than you are. Other cameras such as Gopro can be setup with a more realistic field of View - What your eyes see
Ótimo vídeo explicativo. Parabéns 🇧🇷 🇧🇷 🇧🇷 🇧🇷
You are really inspiring, its very hard to ride in such weather!
Nice review. Well done 👏
Great vid. Thank you. I have had go pros for years but after the last trip round Europe when the audio failed, i was so annoyed, sold both go pros, hero 7 & 4. And now have the Osmo 4 coming on Monday. Will do some recording in Spain next week. I also have A Dji mini 2 se drone which I am loving and a insta 360.
Hi Runa. I just also bought a pair of Action 4 with the Mic 2 pack (which can be paired also with the Insta 360 X4). Most exciting item I'm waiting for is the new DJI GPS Remote control that can handle several cameras with 2 bottoms and you can place it on the handlebars of wrist. Take a look, I ordered one too for my next month trip to Nordkapp! Wish I could meet you once. Take care always and thank you so much for your videos.
Good review at the gear Runa 👍
Thank you very much for the information, it was very useful. I think I'll go from GoPro to Osmo
Hi Runa Thank you for Information on what Camera 🎥 you use I did not know this Runa you are Awesome Amazing Person 😊
Great video keep up the good work…
Thank you Runa for a very informative video. I really like your calm and clear way of presenting straight to the point and with all needed technical facts. I'm still using GoPro 8 and 10 but they are unfortunately not very reliable. I do however like how easy it is to use the GoPro unlimited cloud storage. Next action camera will be a DJI :-)
Get the GPS Remote - no more fiddling with the camera button. Works a treat - been using it for a few weeks and it just works. Links the mic as well and wakes up the camera quickly. You could use that to turn on and off instead of the snapshot 👍
Great video 👌
Solklar presentation, mer komplicerat än man kan tro att göra så bra video som du gör, inte bara trycka på en knapp och köra 😊
watching here in the Philippines Dji Action 4 user too planning to get the mic 2 soon :)
Thank you for sharing
I recently purchased a DJI Osmo Action 4. I have been trying to record my 40-50mph rides on my electric scooter, but I only had my Samsung Note 8 phone to record with. The wind noise was horrible.
Looking to buy the Mic2 as soon as I can afford it. I really like the wind reduction results you got.
Thank you very much for this really beautiful video this camera is my companion in all my trips and the truth of the proverb that says don't think about the detail but look at the hole picture this camera has proven its quality even at high temperatures and goodbye to the GoPro
good luck 😇
Currently I am using Osmo Action 3, just ordered the dji mic adapter to try out. My previous cam are two Gopro, but I am switching to Dji after countless freeze issue due overheating. With the OA3, no freeze so far… will upgrade to OA5 or 6 once available because I always will skip to the next series to get more value for money upgrade.
Thanks for the gr8 review 😃I've been using the Osmo Action 3 for a long time and I'm very pleased with it. Have used GoPro in the past, but DJI is a lot better in many ways.
Glad you liked it! 😊 I agree, I've used GoPro too but there's no going back after trying DJI
Excellent walkthrough of its capabilities and features, Runa! Well laid out presentation of the various settings and components of the system also. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
10 bit and D-log recording ability gives you a wide range of possibilities in post-processing, but I do understand you fully when you say you mostly run it in almost full on automatic settings and just add a few tweaks where it is absolutely needed. The fact that the automatic and default settings are a good starting point anyway, makes it really good place to start off, and when/if you feel so you can always jump in and tweak your settings and set yourself up for some more heavy post-processing at a later stage in your career. (The lowlight capability is simply divine for a package this small and with this sensor size.)
All in all, I would say that the DJI kit has so much speaking for it that it would be close to a crime to not test it out. The microphones - DJI MIC 2 - in combination with this and the Pocket 3 makes it all a pleasing and interesting combo that you can take along on just about any kind of journey.
Thank you, Jonas! 😊 It was fun taking a deep dive into the cameras capability. I knew it was good, but had no idea it was THIS good, and has better specs in most features compared to competitors.
And for your previous question about SD cards - it takes SD cards up to 512GB. I NEVER use this big SD cards, the biggest I will go is 128GB. Why? Sure I will have to change it more often, but if one SD card is corrupt/faulty or is broken, stolen or lost at least I will "only" lose footage from a few days of my trip.
@@OffSheGoesADV Good thinking on the chosen sizes then. 👍 I was afraid that the high res video would fill up the "smaller" size cards way too soon and that you would need to end up switching often (like several times per day).
@@JEmmertz I suppose that depends on how much of your day you record! 128GB usually lasts me about 5 days on my helmet camera that I use most 😊 Font camera probably 8-10 days!
@@OffSheGoesADV Oh! I was off by a few miles (=days) then... On my dSLR I use two CFexpress and those adds to 128 GB - that is way more than enough for stills for a few days, and I was imagining that you were chugging through cards at a higher speed than that because video is more demanding (both when it comes to space requirements and speed etc).
Your setup seems to be more than capable for what you do then, and you are not using cards that are way too big. Good thinking, Runa!
I also use DJI. Currently an Osmo Action 3. I went with DJI mainly because of all the overheating issues that GoPro suffer from resulting in lost footage. I am struggling to find a mic to use with the action 3 in my helmet without spending top dollar, but I love the camera itself.
Great camers. I also have a Dji Action 3 and 4. The 4 is way supperior. I try to buy this year another Action 4. To have both the same. 😁👌
Take care and ride safe 🙏☺️
Thanks for coming again on screen
Hi your video about journey very amazing.👍
I need to check this camera out
Great review Runa, very well articulated. DJI seem to have put some real thought into some of those features. Your terrific panoramic videos are evidence of your great setup. The Osmo Action 4 Adventure Combo is retail priced at around the $660 AUD here in my area in Australia. I bought an AKASO Brave 4 Pro 4K Action Camera & 64GB card last year from Amazon as my first action camera for $204 AUD. It does all I need for the moment and has great features but the inbuilt mic is average (very average 😆) which doesn't worry me. Thanks so much for sharing your review. 🤩🤩👍 🦘🦘
Thank you, glad you liked it 😊 Even if the DJIOA4 is cheaper than it's opponents, it's still far from cheap! I'm glad you found an option that works for you 😊
Hi , great gear/ setup review I am going to make the change, it’s a no brainier. Go pro hero black 8 problems, the screen freezes, then it goes blank.. Quick start recording at fast speed. Battery out to reset. Battery life short. The good bit , picture quality I found really good.Your tip about the start buttons going to try that thanks. Plus an enormous thank you for all the videos you have made. Norway there’s no where like it , be visiting Again very soon.
Same set up as I use, so easy, dumped GoPro a long time ago. Sadly I now have the original Action (still used), the Action 3 and 4. The new mic is a game changer, I just use the stand alone version.
hi, how did you glue the magnet on the django? ride safe
I've been using the DJI Osmo Action 3 for a year. So far I'm very satisfied with the quality. Hope to be able to upgrade to DJI Osmo Action 4 if the funds are sufficient. Want to have it with all the accessories that Runa has.
Running the same setup myself. Well at least I plan to. Just received the mic2 after waiting forever. Have used the mic1 for a bit, but will be great to loose the receiver
love u Runa from India nice video
I had no idea that the battery pack could output a charge. That could definitely come in handy!
Thanks
Great video thank you! What is the name of the accessory you use to mount the second camera (not the one on the helmet)?
Wishing you a belated happy birthday runa. Thanks for the video. I wish I'd known about this camera before I bought my GoPro as I don't like it that much as there's a lot of issues with it
Thank you! 😊 And I'm sorry to hear about that. I experienced issues with my GoPro as well, with freezing up which is why I changed to DJI in the first place.

The image stabilization is called Rock Steady instead of Rock Solid by the way. Other than that, pretty cool. From another motorcycle enthusiast. Keep it up.
Dumped GoPro for DJI some months ago after nothing but issues. Also recently picked up the mic 2. The ability to link one transmitter to the camera is great, especially after the software update that allows you to disable the transmitter's auto turn off feature meaning now you can stop and start recording without being disconnected from the transmitter 👍
Good to hear. Can you connect 2 transmitters simultaneously to the action 4? Also what’s the transmitters battery list when powered on constantly thanks?
@Two_Wheel_Trips you can only connect one transmitter via Bluetooth to the action 4. If you want to use two you need to use the receiver. I got at least 6 hours out of the transmitter with it being constantly on.
@@TwoTubesADV thanks
Thinking about the Dji Mic 2, as general audio rec for the different cameras I'm using at the moment.
Just to have always the same audio quality.
I have recently purchased the action 4 with wireless mic. I will be intrigued to test it in cold conditions. My GoPro was useless in cold weather, died or lost 90% batter life in 5 mins, I had to keep the batteries warm in a heated glove...Agree so far with quality. I got rid of my GoPro 8's as they froze a lot, touch screen was patchy and battery life was poor. So far my DJI's are looking good. Fitting a magnet in the helmet can be a bit awkward. Best wishes
You're really making me doubt my current GoPro setup haha! Damn it.... I have no time to learn to use a new setup 😂
You have a Z9 on the side, so, Leonoor, if she ever tries to pull out her gear then just slam the big one in her face and say: Look at this "little" baby and weep!! 😜
The Missenden flyer, has just done a video on this camera, he, like you, has ditched the GoPro, saying pretty much exactly what you've pointed out. He got fed up with it crashing or freezing for no apparent reason. So now that you've got a better camera, we can look forward to even better videos, as if your videos could get any better. 👍👍🏍️🏍️🇬🇧🇬🇧
I had the exact same problem when I used GoPro, which is why I changed to DJI in the first place! Can't wait to get out and document my trips with this new gear 😃
Excellent video thank you 👍xx
yes i’m sure it had nothing to do with being sponsored..

You have that Blake Lively look and calmness. Love your channel. Now I have Noraly and you to watch. Awesome.
because of the gopro's have i developed a weird battery anxiety and the amount of times i have missed a shot thanks to them is frustrating, problem is I'm so heavily invested in to their products its hard to move away now.....the capabilites of these DJI cameras and products is so impressive !!
Terima kasih infonya
Great video Runa. Coincidentally I’ve just been looking at the Osmo Action 4 myself along with a couple of other’s but you’ve pretty well made my mind up as to which way to go. Keep up the good work lass, really enjoying your content. Also can I ask - what would you consider to be a minimum requirement to make a decent vlogging setup?
Glad to hear, you won't regret your choice 😊 You'll come a long way with one action camera with a good audio solution, that you can use both on and off the bike! With a couple different mounts on your bike and helmet to change up the angles. I prefer using my phone (iphone 14 pro) off the bike for headshot, some views etc. Just gotta find whatever works for you 😊
@@OffSheGoesADV Thanks for the reply and the advice Runa. Loving your vids.
Great
dankeschön
Thanks for this detailed review of the DJI, action cameras have come on a long way recently. As riding on road and off road can be hazardous, I’m keen to know how any damage is repaired? If you get a stone fly up and chip the lens, or if the camera fell off and landed face down, is this a replaceable part?, or is the whole camera finished?
Nice set up. I just bought the Action 4 as well based on your good footage. The thing I always wonder is how do you combine the footage of the two cameras. How do you find the right place on both camera where footage overlaps. I haven’t found a good way to do that. Could you explain a little bit?
hi Runa - great preso. Like many others - I'm tired of the reliability of the GoPro (9)... so keen on the Action 4. Are you able to confirm if the pre-recording mode remains set when the unit is powered off/on again? Or, does it need to be set every time?
Wired solution with dji lav mic works best for me over wireless mic 2 - also make sure you only drop to -5db in the camera and perfect wound then 👍
OA4 & Mic 2 user here, love the set up but my only complaint is the Mic 2 timing out. The battery life is 6 hours so you should be able to disable to the auto power off feature. Also found sometimes when I power on the camera or quick capture it, it fails to connect to the Mic 2 which is still powered on.
Hello Runa thank you very much for this perfect video. We are also looking forward to watch NZ series😊. I bought DJI OA4 and dango gripper mount. However Dango mount is always slipped from my helmet. Do you have any advice to prevent it. Thank you
Ola sou do brasil e parabens pelo belo trabalho, tem link da onde comprou esse adaptador para colocar a camera do queixo :::
New to action camera, got the ’osmo 4’. Guess I should have picked the package you showed. Need extra batteries and case, and the selfie stick too. Remote, wireless mic is probably the best thing. (Too bad I picked the wrong package) I have not downloaded any footage, and still working on motorcycle mount. Hopefully get it sorted for my mid-June trip! Nice bike, which Model huskie have you here?
I went back to a wired mic, because I can remote start the cam, but not the mic. Leaving the mic on, it's emty after a few hours. It also needs to pair after the cam switches on, which is not instant. And the quality with a directly attached mic is also better.
Excellent about camam
It's a good couple to combine between pink and grey jeans
What type of mounting clamp do you use on the steering?
Hi Runa! Have to ask, favorite things you’ve put on the Norden?😌
