I am actually a big fan of this generation RX, I don't really get why people are so hung up over the last gen, it wasn't particularly quick, and the interior was also plasticky in some places, I mean it was comfortable but so is this new one and I think the interior materials are way better than the previous gen. The only thing I really missed when driving the turbo motor was the smoothness of the V6, but the turbo is not un-refined by any means, and the low down torque means you don't have to rev the engine too high to get moving. The RX500h felt like the old V6 in terms of smoothness but with a lot more power. I also don't get the argument of people saying the RX isn't sporty, I mean sure the 500h exists but that is still a lot comfier than other performance SUVs. The RX has always been the city cruiser that can eat up miles in comfort, and this gen does that really well to me, especially in the hybrid format. It also happens to be one of the most fuel-efficient entries in the class
I couldnt agree more. I do not get why every car needs to be sporty, and I hate it when reviewers take cars like this and critique it for not handling well after hammering it into corners.I think the 350h is the golden child in the RX lineup (and wish it was available as a TX powertrain).

Not sure what is the lead time now. The hybrid does have long lead time. We put a deposit down in early March this year (2023) for specific (exterior and interior) colors and some package options. We just got an email saying our LX 350h will be built sometime during 1st couple weeks of Oct. They also said it will be 2024 year version. 🙃🤪🙄
The 2024 may be better. I got a 2023 luxury trim version and it came without the 360 cameras due to limited parts availability for the park assist. I had to buy an aftermarket front camera to see over the giant hood/grill to park accurately after having 360 cameras for almost a decade on a 2014 Infiniti QX60. The 2024s come with everything listed for each trim level, not case by case. Still waiting for my second key fob. Wish I’d waited for the 2024s.
I only get hybrids so I got the RX 350h premium plus last night. I don’t see the point of a V6 on a hybrid when the point is fuel economy. So I think people missed the point that gas is up and want a none v6 to afford driving it lol. Yes the v6 was quiet but the gas….pointless.
Yea the noise and refinement of the drivetrain are my only primary issues, that aside this new RX is pretty excellent and massive congrats on your purchase!
No, don't ditch the 21 in wheels. it adds a lot of character to the car and I'm having no problems with the Bridgestone tires. The engine has more torque than the v6 and is very smooth. I have the 2.4 turbo and it's fine. I rarely have to rev the engine past 2K so I really don't hear it. I got the Premium + and it's perfect for me. I had the Luxery model for a few weeks and I did not like the HUD as it casts a shadow on the windshield that is distracting to me. I got mine for 54K Don't spend north of 60K for this car. those bells and whistles are not worth it.
i had the opportunity to try this car over a weekend and even on the high way. The speed is amazing, the pick up is not bad. However, the buzzing of the 4cyl engine is not the refinement I associate with Lexus. Also, the road noise is far to great. I had a 2008, 2011, and 2013 Rx and the road noise on the 2023 Rx is far greater than either of my previous models. I actually think the Lexus is not worth the premium over the Toyota. Not sure about this model
All Lexuses have the same issues in my opinion. They're comfortable, luxurious, efficient and most importantly....reliable. But they are BORING compared to their German rivals. They're underpowered, have finicky tech and are uninspiring to drive. Not sure why they always skimp on the horsepower. Is that for reliability? I will always choose a Lexus over the Germans but man I wish they would make their cars more exciting. It's like driving a Japanese Buick.
They detune their engines for longevity. Tests have showed the components of Toyota engines are built to be able to handle 2x the power. But theres nothing stopping them from putting the turbo hybrid in all the models. Or importing the supras (which is really BMWs) 3.0L twin scroll turbo I-6.
Probably not since Tesla kept dropping the price of the 3 / Y you’re not going to get a very high trade in value so you might as well keep your vehicle until the warranty expires
It’s very predictable that the major complaint in Lexus reviews is primarily about performance. Car & Driver set the tone decades ago when all car reviews seemed to be centered on speed and acceleration. The irony is that speed is irrelevant after a point because of traffic laws. Acceleration has some relevance, but people don’t need or want to be thrown back into their seats to get through an intersection. The quality of components, ride, stability, and reliability make Lexus one of the premium luxury brands, this RX is no exception. European cars have long been admired for their feel and performance, but cost of ownership has made these cars less desirable.
There was no mention of speed in this video. I think you are confusing refinement with speed. This nasty sounding rattly 4 cylinder is not appropriate for a $65k vehicles.

This is a Toyota, not a Lexus, imho. Luxurious took a step down, interior looks cheap, the interior design does not look mordernized comparing to the previous one, and I miss the watch in center console. Imo, having the small watch in the center console gives a luxury "feeling" even though the watch itself costs like nothing to whole car. I like Bentley, Porsche and some other brands keep doing that, Mer used to have one in their E and S classes but today's Mers look like Chinese cars without a "soul" in their design language which built their rep. Its not ugly in any mean, actually it does look great, modern but last V6 RX gen looks way better out and inside, I know everyone has their own preference, ofc, but try to see, touch both cars in person to see the differences. The more time I spend with both cars (in a dealer saloon) the more hard time I tried to understand all of these "changes" to the RX series. I feel like they, LX, intentionally down grade the RX series to welcome their new TX or something, almost everyone I met, who had, or wanted to buy a new RX had the same feeling for this RX gen.
