      I'm not sure what exactly you're saying, if you're saying you don't train regularly ever then you're not going to get the benefit they're talking about. It takes months to years of consistent training before your muscles will do what they're talking about, then AFTER that you can lapse and your muscles will rebuild faster. If you just got your muscles to swell with water while they repair but didn't actually stress the repair process, you aren't getting that benefit because you never had the muscles to begin with.

    this is the complete opposite what most fitness channels shout in here, they all say "if you are not working out for two weeks you might as well quit bcos you lost all your gainnnnss!!" (bit exaggerated but not much 😆) people make it seem like it takes a decade to build and month to lose when the reality is as explained in this video. don't get me wrong, consistency is definitely one of the keys to build serious muscle, but it's also so refreshing and affirming to hear that you can take time off with good conscience and you get what you lost back in no time. this actually makes me want to start to work out again rather than make me feel shitty that i haven't done much anything in few years in terms of exercising. also both radiates the positivity this world oh so desperately needs. @@staceygram5555 in reality both are important. At a certain point it's going to be very rare for strength passed a certain level to matter in every day life.

    This was so much more motivating than I expected tbh. I went through years of vocal training as a kid and then haven’t done it at all for the last 5 years. It’s not that my voice is bad now but the technique and breath support are definitely worse/almost gone. I’ve wanted to start training again but was worried I was out of it for too long. This gives me hope that I will be able to get more of it back than I was expecting when I get back into training.

    • @IndigoFeather
      @IndigoFeather Před měsícem +2

      Please do! I’ve been through something similar. I also started smoking in my 20s, and tobacco killed my breath support AND voice. Or so I thought. Having realized this I quit smoking tobacco and started doing breathing and vocal exercises and my voice came back! I even managed to write and record a few songs after that.
      Don’t give up, you can definitely do it, and when you start noticing positive changes, the dopamine rush is insane!

    I spent 4 years on a crew team in high school and the Quarantine period hit just when I’d managed to injure my chest doing it. It was DEBILITATING being unable to exercise and watching everything you worked to build up slowly melt away. Less than 2 years later I picked up weightlifting because I was sick of looking skinny and I was AMAZED at how fast the recovery into muscle-building was. I suppose in a way small bits of the training from the team stayed with me; the calluses never went away.

    Definitely an encouragement to anyone who has or is injured. I took a year and a half off from weight lifting because of a torn lcl ligament. I was so devastated starting at square one again, yet it’s only been 6 months back and I’m almost back to full strength with lifting as well as back to boxing and starting up jiu jitsu. Bodies how they heal/bounce back after time off sure are amazing! Good luck to any homies out there taking time off whether it’s due to an injury or just needing a break 👍

    as a cyclist, i can confirm that muscles come back absurdly fast. i race in the spring, and generally take the summer and part of the fall off(a few rides, but not too much). last fall i decided to do a race just for the heck of it, and it SUCKED. i had no endurance and all my skill had disappeared. now we’re in the middle of my league’s race season, and i’m feeling AMAZING after training a bit during the winter. i moved up in categories for this year(meaning i do longer races). these longer races are the same length as the race i did back in the fall, but now with a bit of training and getting my muscles back it feels SO MUCH BETTER
