    The APS "major nerf" has been confirmed to be a bug, it is meant to reload after use.

      Yeah I heard a few days ago on the discord. Ive been in too bad of a state to be able to do much related to this channel for that time. I'll update the pin at some point. Note that APS is still less effective now

    To me the gun arc change is the best as it makes bigger gun more viable and useful. You can't just spam 100's easily anymore. It's also more realistic and makes designing more challenging which is always nice.

      I'm fine with that change but the way it slapped vanilla ships is just awful. Look at Triumphant...

    With the increased weapon lethality overall this kinda means that the Sevastopol heavy strat or even using anything bigger than Corvettes isn't viable anymore. Since now even a single burst of shells on a weakspot may cause enough damage to disable your ship.
    Meta would probably be 1-2 gun wonder ships and the rest are missiles or aircraft carriers and tankers.

      Yeah I'm a bit hesitant to say anything on the possible damage changes to ships. It seems something was changed but the dataminers haven't found much. My guess is splash range was increased or armour was buffed or something but again, nothing concrete.

    Changes that have come to be known after I made this video, or that I forgot to include, or that are unproven
    >I WAS WRONG ABOUT APS RELOAD. KK CONFIRMED IT AS A BUG. APS HAS BEEN NOTED AS LESS RELIABLE NOW HOWEVER
    >When launching strategic missiles, there now will be a displayed red area before you launch helping you understand what area the missiles seeker will see
    >57mm possibly nerfed as a missile defence weapon (reduced hitbox?)
    >Someone said sprints are unreliable against Zeniths, seems proxy is a bit less so (tangential and I only noticed passively with 130mm proxy)
    >Proxy doesn't seem as brutal against armour as before, neither does normal HE
    >Flip side, splash might have been increased or just HE hull damage
    > Laser might have been nerfed? It seems to have less splash / damage now, but I can't tell
    > Enemy Strike Groups now have Wasps (Aircraft Carriers) on hard / Normal
    > Enemies will fire CIWS in point defense before they're fully loaded, aircraft now at greater risk of being lost.

      Sprints are indeed now unreliable against Zeniths, taking 2-3 to guarantee an intercept, this is a result of some changes to the AI flight models iirc and Konstantin seems to find it quite realistic.
      Apparently armor overall is now more useful too, if you can afford to use it.
      And the "buff" to AI CIWS is indeed a "nerf" to the current aircraft/carrier meta, they are now meant to be used as a situational tool rather than a "cheese all", otherwise you'll run out of aircraft and thus, money.
      Also, as I have already spammed this on the rest of the comments I will do it here once again, the APS nerf is not a nerf, it's a bug :P

      I appreciate the sub, it's hard to build a channel and even if I clickbait a smidge (I do deliver, I think), I avoid just asking for subs.
      When 1.16 comes out the new visuals and such will make things interesting enough that a new playthrough should be unique to your past ones

    I feel like APS should have 3 loads per battle since visually there are 3 tubes in the texture.

      Maybe. I feel like it should reload in some capacity tbh, just maybe not 2/20s or so. 3/1min would be interesting. They also nerfed the capabilites of APS which is a bruh to me.

    Ngl the seeing the guns blocking each other’s FOV, weakening thrust and nerfing the 57mm is a big L. Is there a way to play older versions if 1.16 comes out of Beta?
    Edit: Looking forward to a new personal best if you do plan on doing a speed run on 1.16, running backflips on the Sev all the way to Khiva! Great update btw!

      I know of one repository with a 1.15 Pirate, though I'd rather not link to it. Otherwise, kinda boned. Gun FOV can probably be overcome with replacing Parts.seria and designs with 1.15 equivalents. Honestly speedrunning took a massive smack with this update thanks to strategic fuel economy nerf. I'm somewhat confident the older versions will be capable of better times, and asides doing a run or two in the new versions for the hell of it, any pushing of the times will be done back in 1.15 (I'm confident sub 20 is doable.) However I may have an idea of another way to cheese tactical cheaply enough to make for some odd runs.

      Wish I’d played when stacking blocks would overcome occlusion for stuff like palash as well as squeezing stuff into triangles. Seems like KK is pushing for a specific game style, what with discouraging airstrikes, battle boxes and up-gunning cruisers. I bet KK saw your speed runs and got pretty miffed about getting his precious typhons nuked by plane guided missiles XD “delivery in 30 minutes or less or your crispy city is free”

    Why would they nerf the 57mm??? It's shit to begin with, I'm sad because I really like 57mms IRL but in this game they are borderline useless unless you plan to be a BDSM-level meta-slave and use them only for spamming incendiaries. I like highfleet because it feels like every little nook and cranny has it's place and purpose EXCEPT the 57mm (and maybe the MKI-180 but we don't talk about that) but the fact that they make the 57mm even worse... why? Is there any reason to do that? Is there any reason to use the 57mm after the nerf at all? Is there some kind of detail I was missing and the 57 is actually OP or something, please clarify this, it's really confusing me why the dev would do this.

      57mm used to be great. I think he reduced the hitboxes of 57 and 37mm to stop "Shell blocking" where you used point defence to block out enemy fire and reduce enemy DPS. It was quite potent. Now 57mm is totally fucked, I agree. Its just not worthwhile in point defence and because of that AK100 is plain better.

      @@andyboi8399 one to one mountwise, and in small numbers, sure, but once you had a large enough massing of 57mm, they were reliable enough at downing zeniths / strat missiles. At which point the 57mm was much much more effective in the dps role because it had a better effect on target when hitting ships and most notably a very high reload rate. Theoretically with 20 of either gun you can overwhelm a CIWS battery with enough back to back launches of zeniths like AI do now but 57mm could do much more because the ammo came back almost as fast as you used it. This also meant you could afford to actually lean those guns into an enemy or cycle them more for shot blocking, because having half a clip of ammo wasnt a big deal. The basis was, 57mm traded application in small counts for being a very formidable general purpose secondary battery, while 37mm was focused on the AA / defence side of things.
