When ur an adult but still want a milkshake
I had one for the first time the other night. I can see myself having many, many more.
Hes right. It's definitely not a popular drink nowadays but it'll never die.
Cognac or Brandy 37.5ML
DarkCremeDeCacao 25ML
Milk or milk/cream 25ML
+Grated Nutmeg
^_^
My absolute favourite cocktail.
Just came across your video. I will be making this cocktail for an upcoming episode. A friend of mine who use to drink this a lot back in the 70's asked me to make one. Thanks. Cheers!
Great! All this class of videos should be like this one. Short and to the point.
This is my number one favorite drink aside from Cinnamon Toast Crunch
It definitely is Amelia, I just had it two weeks ago and fell in love. It's my new bedtime drink, delicious!
Mmmm! I've always wanted to try a heavenly drink like this!
That sounds positively lovely. Yum.
I fell in love with this drink many years ago in the states but as I am in England now you don't see it in cocktail bars. I make a good one myself. Its a great drink to unwind with'.
BArs in England will have the ingredients to make this I am sure. Cheers!
This looks AMAZING.
parts is an arbitrary unit of measurement. Anything can be considered a "part." from a toothpaste tube cap, to a gallon. If you use a cup for a "part", then for this recipe you use 2 cup cognac, 1 cup cacao, 1 cup cream. Or you could use 2 liters cognac, 1 liter cacao, 1 liter cream. Whatever unit size you use for one part of the recipe, you use for the others. That way the proportions will remain the same.
Since I was 18 I loved this drink 🍹
What a great video, love Brandy Alexanders
Very nice, thank you.
that looks amazing im going to try that.
That looks really good.
Was my mom's fav. Does anyone still drink these in 2022?
Your video is so interesting, well done!
Great video and recipe. It's amazing how simplistic the video is yet some of these comments show how much people DO NOT think before talking (typing), comprehend or pay attention. Wow.
Delicious.
great work :D
that looks yummy!
Harry Nilsson used to drink these all the time.
together with john lennon
matori, uspeo si! :))
svaka čast!
John Lennon’s favorite drink. At least so during his “Lost Weekend”.
He had good taste
Pffttt... he married Yoko so not so much.
@@monkeygraborange yoko married him. She could've done better.
Winter cocktail 🍸
fear not! i make this all the time in my bar for night caps!
A classic.
Love a brandy Alexander. I have it as a dessert. 😋
It is a shame that bar tenders these days don't even know what a Brandy Alexander is. I've only encountered 1 bar that made one, other so-called cocktail bars don't serve them
I went to American bartender school in early 80s. I used make all the time when I worked in new york city. One good after dinner drink.
you need a good cognac and crem de cacao for this to be perfect, and also, the glasses must be kept chilled too.. tge right quantities make this a perfect drink, too much brandy and the sweetness is taken off, too little and it tastes like milkshake.. takes an experienced bartender to make this drink really really good, but, when its made right, damn its so good!
I saw in a episode of american horror story freak show. This cocktail and wondered how it was made it looks really Yummy.
Yum Yum
He did put nutmeg in it?
Great video! But what does 'parts' mean? How much a part is in milliliters?
I hope you found your answer in the last 10 years but if not, a part is just telling you the ratio, it could be any amount but it's typically 30 mills
@@StarKnightZ Yes. I think I did find out. I don't know why but it was tough to wrap my head around this part measurments. Thank you anyways for clearing this up. Cheers.
Have always loved this cocktail but it is hard to find in London!
Its a rich persons drink. You gotta go out to expensive restaurants or lounges usually.
Good flair at :30 haha
If it contains cream, and you want the ingredients to emulsify well, wouldn't it benefit from a dry shake first, and then another shake with ice?
Joel Andersson it’s cream not egg
Dje si zemljak !
This drink was pop in Scandinavia 40 years ago . As I remember it , there should be NUTMEG in it .

They should bottle these premixed.
My all-time favourite. However, not easy to find a bartender that makes a good one. It's a tricky one.
this might actually be the easiest drink ever to make....some bartenders are really pathetic...this one is so hard to screw up
Really? I only had 2 that were actually quite good. All others were dissapointing. Either they were too watery or didn't taste right (perhaps it was the quality of the cognac).
I used to think a Night Cap was a hat you wore at night :)
How come there is no "Brandy" in Brandy Alexander??
The cognac at the beginning is brandy.
Oh! Pardon my ignorance.... aehm. :D
Cognac is a type of brandy, but you do not need to use Cognac, you can use cheeper brandy and it will be fine.
Betty Boop z
I loved this drink, until I substituted bourbon for the cognac. Never turned back.
Which bourbon do you use?
Like if you came because of the Bartender anime:
How to Make a Sazerac
The one I had was made with vanilla ice cream 🤔
Yeah yeah yeah , rub da nutmeg in , dude ....
Why does he say he is using nutmeg, then he grates cinnamon on top?
he is grating nutmeg. the plane that he's using to grate is curled in like a cinnamon stick. It almost got me too
Perfect nightcap? I think so. :D
Brandy must be the girl I wake up next to after having a few too many because there's no Brandy in this drink😮
John Lennon's favorite
Fun fact: this was John Lennon's favorite cocktail
The brandy Alexander needs a really good... Cognac? Why not just a really good brandy?
John Lennon’s favorite cocktail.
Feist and Ron sexmith brought me here
As i know, John Lennons favourite drink! ;)
was it ?,never heard that .
Yes, it´s reported as his favourite drink. It can be read on the internet. Try it, it tastes fine! Lennon knew what is good!
yea , he did . too late for me though , been sober 15 years , am bar-tending now , once in a while i wished i had tried some of these drinks . looks and smells like a good milkshake . all i did was beer and vodka . oh well, better to be alive .
Lady Mae brought me here
These are sooo dangerous.
Knee weakers
This drink reminds me of a white russian.
Why is it called a "Brandy" Alexander if there is no brandy in it?
Brandy is a cognac or it is other way around. That's it.
@@BLACKDIVISION1 All Cognac is Brandy but not all Brandy is Cognac!
hence why he put nutmeg in it...............
It's pronounced cacao and not "coco"
or blend it…
Not sure I'd trust a barman who can't tell the difference between cinnamon and nutmeg....
but he uses nutmeg in the video....
Cheers!
It's creme de cacao NOT cocoa they're NOT the same thing. Please get it right
If the drink has cognac and cream de cacao, it should be called a "cognac de cacao" ditch Alexander as he is a schmuck
The best Alexander’s are made with Cognac. This is fact, schmuck.
