I have the 940 and the blade and handle ratio was to big for just a regular EDC IMO , however I like the 945 alot better , it all depends what you use your knife for
Nice video! I’m glad that it seems like your initial impression has changed a little with use. Maybe after longer you will come to love it even more, I think adding Titanium Scales to it would help the Little feel and give it some weight as well.
Great update! I handled one last week. I liked it better than a mini Bugout, so it’s a great small knife. It will never replace the 940 and I’m sure they don’t want it too.
I like watching your knife-related videos. I like regular sized pocket knives ( collection of 169 of them - always looking for the next one ) and I like small ones. From Benchmade, I have a mini Griptilian and a mini Freek and today I ordered 2 Benchmade 945 Osborne mini’s, all black with the blue liners. I’ve been experimenting with 5th pocket carry with the smaller knives to free up front pocket space.
You’re not crazy. The front finger guard substantially reduces the hand space. The mini bugout has larger hand space at the expense of an exposed tang.
I would probably love the 945 the micarta muSt be feeling awesome , i had a msg on MC’s channel that i won something but it seems that it was somekind of bot , so sadly no free knife for me 🤨 have a great weekend regARds from your Dutch overseas friend
Mine felt a lil toyish as well but it'll still handle whatever I throw at it. If you get the regular slab sided rockscale design ti scales it adds 1.9mm of thickness per side back into the scales where benchmade milled out the contouring. It feels more substantial, ergonomic and robust now in hand, less toy like lol. But I get what your saying for sure. Thanks for the content 🙏 I'm loving the Osborne videos mini or OG! 🔥🔥🔥
Couldn’t see in the vid, but if that knife doesn’t have a solid back-spacer you should be able to tie a lanyard around the last bolt/spacer at the back of the knife. The “trick” is to tie tight so the cord is snug and doesn’t contact the blade. I use the “ideal paracord knot”. Tie one tight around the tail of the knife, then tie a second about 1/2 an inch back. What you end up with is a two ball short lanyard that stands up off the back of the knife. So easy to grab from the pocket, and when holding a small knife it acts as a handle extension. It’s freak’n magic!
I have large size hands and I love the 945 I love the slick feeling of the g10 scales and the "toy feeling" went away in a few weeks, that being said its still a tiny somewhat delicate piece, better suited as a backup for your main blade in my case a glock knife, is that omega spring failure a common occurrence?
Does the 945 break in over time? do you have side side blade play on yours? or do you put some oil on it and just adjust it until it's perfect? just asking cause that one seems like it just drops shut as soon as you disingage the lock. On mine i have to disingage the lock and then shake the knife to get the blade to close in one motion. I could probably losen the pivout screw but if i do that i think there's a good chance i'm gonna have to live with som side to side play, but i might be wrong
Definitely wouldn’t fit my giant hands. I’m probably going to beat on a 940 at some point. If you want to check out an awesome Swiss Army Knife try the Swiss Army 7. Love that little knife. Thing sees more pocket time than any SAK I own
Is Nicole’s EDC on CZcams or Instagram? You make good points on the 945… I think I’ll be happier with the mini a-100. Looking forward to your mods for the Pioneer. The Pioneer X is one of my favorites (love the scissors and sturdy flathead). Looking forward to seeing your plans for the can opener!
I agree that those guys are boring. I actually watch them when I'm having trouble falling asleep for that reason. My 940 is my edc, but have a 945 for communist states like California when I travel.
I'm a chick n i love my 945...I bought it because the 940 looked to big for my hands...945 kicks a** for me!
MC's channel is very informative. Love his stuff. I'm here so I like your stuff too. All good.

Better then a bug out for sure
you seem very like-able. Good video
Get flytanium scales on it go copper or something heavy lol.
Also the mxg clip helps pull it out of the pocket 😍

Haha I understand you Erica, I really do!! 😂 you need something rugged like the 940, the 945 isn’t for everyone! But it is the knife for me! 😉
Same Micarta i put on my M4 Bugout. Wondering if i want it on my M4 Osborne and M4 Mini grip.
I was really excited about the 945….until I held it. It was just too small for my hands. 😭

No play here. Running on KPL. It’s really nice(:
