Unrestored Original XT600 Tenere Ingles subtítulos

So many Original bikes i keep finding in Portugal.
After restoring dozens in the cold damp of the UK,
here in the Algarve there is no salt on the roads.
So bikes - even older than this- with a little care, last a long time.
João's Original XT600 Tenere is from '84.
Him & his mate competed in the sidecar- Cross world Championship when he lived in France.
he still has his original sidecar -cross outfit with a few other bikes. including a 50 yr old 'Sachs' 50.
it was 35C today, so i usually call at his cafe bar for a cold beer & Portuguese banter, if ive been to a local town for bits & pieces.
you can see a tyre on the back of the Bullit in the back ground.
When these came out, i was the proud owner of a '76 XT500 & thought it was the 'dogs bollocks'- as a trail bike because of the way it sounded and the fact it scared the shit out of riders if they tried it off road.
It made a great road bike but had kind of 'Wayward' handling off road, but power to get you anywhere, but dont ever shut the throttle off. especially in mud or you could there a while!
It taught me to ride as a youngster and i won my Enduro trophy on one in '85.
Anything was easier to ride After an original XT500.
I lusted after these long travel forks on the XT600 and its Monoshock arse end.
But when i was 19 a new XT was out of my price range and rare even then.
So this totally unrestored original takes me back to '85,s - Night clubs, Miami vice music ,no mobile phones & worry free shagging.
But still ride all day off road with your mates on Sundays, just like it was yesterday.
