      @@jh-tech5546 I finally worked up the courage to tear apart my engine and replace the sheared drive shaft the previous owner welded and left for me to figure out.
      I used your video a LOT leading up to this moment and it really helped push me over the edge to undertake the engine rebuild.
      Thank you again for documenting your teardown.

    Io ammiro chi fa questo lavoro e mi chiedo come si fa a non dimenticare di rimontare un rasamento o una rondella o una coppiglia o una guarnizione o un O ring. Siete dei fenomeni 👍💪🇮🇹

    Great video! I have a 1984 XT600 that I love, but it has almost 50,000 miles on it now and is beginning to leak oil from what looks like the head gasket. Is it possible to replace the top end gaskets without removing the engine? Thanks!

      Thanks for the comment. I did not have the engine in the frame but what I can see from this video it is possible: czcams.com/video/2g-hGK5K7Gg/video.html

    Great video, I’m having to strip my engine down as the gearbox is knackered would I have to strip it totally or could it be done by leaving the left hand side of the engine intact ? Thanks.

    • @jh-tech5546
      @jh-tech5546  Před rokem

      You mean by leaving the flywheel on the crank and even maybe the cover on the case? That might be possible. I don't think there are bolts behind that hold the cases together.

    Just wondering what tool did you use to pull the flywheel? It looks like a harmonic balancer puller but my bolts are too short to thread into the flywheel all the way

    • @jh-tech5546
      @jh-tech5546  Před 9 měsíci

      Sorry for the late reply. As you could see I did struggle. The tool that did the job was the flywheel puller sold by YAMBITS.

    Would it be possible to change the gasket on the side of the engine without taking the engine out of the frame? I’m new to fixing bikes and some guidance would be very much appreciated

      @jh-tech5546  Před 8 měsíci

      I guess you mean to remove the clutch cover. Yes I think that is possible.

  • @gongusdeedeetow1510
    @gongusdeedeetow1510 Před 4 měsíci

    Hey so does the top part where the valves go. Does that just not have a gasket? I’ll be tearing mine out to change valve seals and can find a gasket. Is it okay that way? Would liquid gasket work?

    • @jh-tech5546
      @jh-tech5546  Před 4 měsíci

      Yes, there is no gasket but you need to apply some liquid gasket (suitable for engines) to the gasket surface.
