Couple of suggesstions:
Air down tyres on trails, with beads you can go dows to 7-8 psi or lower.
You should consider rear steer.
You have dual stick, adapt to using the gear ratios on the trails, how to effectively use the twin stick, it helps grately when you use em properly.
Boost for sure, better off with Super charger than turbo due to boost lag. In rock bouncing you need power from the low rpm.
Whichever engine you use, consider using dry sump for oil circulation. It helps keep the lubes flowing at odd angles and not constrained to oil pick up inlet.
Fuel slosshing at odd angles becomes an issue and fuel starvation needs to be addressed. Consider looking at fuel pump assembly that is designed to remove fuel starvation.
Get a load of Baja Design lights, like the ones debertis used on their boat, must have 😊
For shocks, go for kings, or fox or bilsteins, they make a heck of shocks for these applications. You can consider triple bypass shocks with high tuneable capabilities. Although will need to be valved as per the overall loaded weight of the vehicle. Whoever is your suppleir, send them the lenghts, extended and contracted distanced of the travle and they can offer the right shicks for your application. Bump stops for sure, gas charged, not rubber ones.
Get new 5 point harness with neck support, that would be critical for your safety along with compatible seats to support the harness and neck support.
For tuning, consider using a standalone ecu as you just need to power your engine and tune it, standalone takes away the left overs/extra wiwing harness that you dont need. HALTECH has local support and provides great support for your applications. Plus you can tune your engines to infinity as per the power plant allows. They also have displays that go along with ecu's and quite useful.
Cooling, the more the merrier, with current Radiatior, you could add push fans in addition to the pull one you already have, going bigger if space allows the better.
All in all, it's an awesome rig and platform, i am sure you ya all will knock it out to the moon. Good luck and excited about this build.

Letting the air out is pointless on a bouncer it’s not designed to crawl. What would help is for them to makesure it’s in low range or 1st gear it’s sounds like it’s struggling

With bead locks you should be running 3-8 psi. I didn’t have headlocks and was in 38’s and I ran 4-8 psi.
Go with a supercharger. instant torque . Turbo ull be sitting on the rocks spinning wait for the boost to come in

I think you should check dry sump systems for engine and transmission.that way when you at steep angels your are not starving them of fluids along with a fuel cell that baffled to prevent starving the engine.
I would move the radiator. To me that thing is way to close to the passengers if it blows.

i seen there OBD port in the center console i would read the codes and i would check to see if running lean because the exhaust manifolds glowing red like that

That thing is running extremely lean, it dying on the trail was a fuel issue, fuel pump or filter, something.
I was getting ready to write the same thing. That thing is running really lean! Either the tune is off or injectors are clogged or pump is going bad!

I like the change of pace. Definitely do a whipple supercharger, bc turbo spoiling on rocky trails seems like a bad idea. Instant power from a blower
They will defenetly need to learn how to change u-joints and axle shafts 😂 a Whipple on the other c8 engine would be an animal
Maybe the fuel is boiling and causing the hard start/ dying. Basically running off fumes until it cools a bit.. especially with the headers glowing red hot
not a fan of that tank...and I agree I don't think the pump is delivering enough fuel at higher RPM you can certainly hear how under power it is...

I agree it is running out of fuel, but many high output motors have a secondary pump; and not necessarily the problem here but they were discussing 1000HP and if you boost it...then fuel delivery will be a problem-the first thing they need is a fire wall...@@joealex65
Ya they would never ever think to check and change a fuel filter. And drain the old ass fuel out of it.
IMO That big block has a ton of torque. If the compression is good maybe a rebuild would be better than a new engine? Forged internals would be a sweet engine and make it a monster with forced induction! I'm sure whatever you guys do to it will be good!
That’s not a big block. It’s a 6 liter LS truck engine. The LS platform is based on the small block Chevy engine.
With new shocks and a BIG engine this will be a wild ride!
I recommend to learn more about off-roading like how to use break and gas together while climbing obstacles
6:54 at this point I am realizing that this buggy definitely needs that C8 motor inside of it and better tires. Also some shocks.
I mentioned it to busted knuckle. You guys should collab and see what it can really do. They are the best when it comes to bouncers. Love to see your channels join up for a bouncer collab.

Couple of suggestions guys. Dry sump oiling (if it isn't already), because the engine will suck oil into the cylinder tops when you are climbing up super steep inclines and starve the bottom end of oil. also, it seems in the videos that when you are going up steep inclines the engine is running out of fuel. Maybe look into fuel systems that will prevent that.

I like it. You guys don't start from fresh. You guys take something that was good and you make it better. I would definitely look into modding the LT from the vette. I would run a supercharger on that. Make sure it can Rev and has torque.

I know you mentioned bump stops but what about adding a shock to each corner? 8 instead of 4?
Those shocks just need rebuilt, If the shocks were any good it wouldn't bottom out, Only if they really jumped it and that's where hydro bump stops would be beneficial, But that's not what it's designed for.
Panel bonding a replacement roof on exotic car gets old too. I like the variety. Also completely finishing is good.
Havent seen them complete any of the vehicles. Half ass jobs with christmas lights in the dash.

One thing you didn't realize you couldn't build one of these even on a budget for 25 grand They had way more than that in that rock bouncer I guarantee it I'm a builder of 35 years They didn't pay too much!

Y’all should look into some Hydraulic bump stops, dampens the hard hits really well
You Guys need an onboard air compressor on your tow vehicle so you can air down for rock crawling and air back up for mud slinging. Also, you need a firewall/shield of some sort between the driver compartment and the radiator so if you lose a hose or whatever, NOBODY gets scalded.
Not a fan of the new content. It’s less productive and we experience less of the builds. This channel has turned more into what you guys do on a daily basis in your life, rather than car builds. In almost every video, 3/4 of it is just having fun, advertisements, promotions, sponsorship’s and the other half is productive. You guys have earned and deserve everything you have and keep doing what you do!

If you go turbo, need to be very deliberate about the sizing. Last thing you want is crazy boost curve blowing the tires off while trying to climb.
Supercharger would be preferable for sure. ALSO better exhaust would be nice with some good mufflers that setup sounds awful currently.
This will be used once or twice and sit on a lift rack in the back of the shop, everything they say would be sick to take to the track, but have never, get that fresh $$$ from content and switch to something else.

I’d highly suggest a dry sump oil system for that motor if y’all intend to continue to do wild inclines/declines and rolls and stuff. Don’t want to starve the motor or drown the crankcase

That thing has zero to do with what the games are about. This is for Hill climbing and that's it, it's not even a rock crawler. If this thing say on the trail in traffic for 10 minutes it would overheat. Go up a hill fast, hit the access trail to the pits, shut it down, let it cool till it's next run, repeat.
I can not wait for the build, this will be my favorite.

Not really. Treps and Swampers are 50/50 recommended by bouncers. Treps are more for crawling in the dry.

What tire pressure are you running, less than 12 preferably
Couple of More Suggesstions (2nd part):
Consider addition of Hydraulic fuid coolers for Transmission & Steering fluids
When upgradirng tyres, do consider your final drive ratio coming of your transmission(s) and diff and select the appropriate tyre size for optimum traction, bigger the better would not work here
Do you have Diff Locks, if not consider them for front and rear with pneumatic option for switch off when not needed, the compressor could be added with an onboard air tank to inflate tires after a fun day when not on tracks
As the visibility is a challenge from the drivers seat, you may look into mounting cameras with in dash displays to navigate betters on challending trails, would contribute towards your content creation as well

Lucky you've got a spare corvette engine kicking around. Pop a supercharger, twin turbos or both and you got yourself a power house of a motor and am surprised you never mentioned that engine as you've got it spare
Should weld 2 more bars in that continue the roof's line forward to the bars around the engine, would look cooler and safer.

Just a suggestion: you guys could use the motor from the parts corvette and through it in that rock crawler. That would be plenty of power.
Weld in a steel plate between the radiator and seat. If something blows on that radiator, the driver will be deep fried!

You guys should come out to an actual rock bouncing event and check out the top of the line bouncers. See what Tim Camerons builds are like and Justin Holt who owns RejectFab.

That 6.0 has seen better days. Texas Speed is going to be your friend here, or hit up Cleetus. Also look into hydraulic bump stops. That thing was rode hard and put away wet.
if you lower your tires air pressure it will climb better. Should not relly do light bars on a rock bouncer. What you want are lights protected by the cage to avoid breakage. as well as to keep trash off the trails from them breaking.
you should do a vw sandrail me and my dad used to build them, parts are cheap and the frames are easily modifiable, good power too
Out here in the southwest, Arizona, we call em Rock crawlers but love ya'lls name for it too. Rock bouncers, learn something new everyday
Different things. Rock crawlers go slow and climb obstacles. Usually in the dry.
Rock bouncers get a run up and it's a timed race to the top of a hill. Usually in the wet.

If you ad boost do it so it spools up at the bottom of the rpm and makes some good tourq otherwise you will onley spin the wheels and get no traction. Maybe a supercharger is the way to go?

The new tires with lower air pressure will help with the traction. Low gear and crawling over the rocks. Once you break traction more gas isn’t always the answer. But fun to watch.
