That is an awesome machine!
Pull off between the Bombi and Dave’s Prinroth😝
Did this recovery need to happen at such expense? Would a reasonable person just wait a friggin' minute? That was a silly unit not needed to pay the bills. Let it sit a minute as there are no impending fines.
Your Bombi will be much more practical, and much cheaper to transport and operate. With that said a snow plow would have been a great addition.
@@brockryan3405 Yeah, I found myself thinking the same thing. Sometimes it looks like there are recoveries they go BIG on just to be showy and have a blast with big toys. I mean, not that there's anything wrong with that ???
Yes Matt's you need to put a blade on the front of The Bombi that would be AWESOME.
I'm a diesel mechanic, you flew over my yard yesterday. Got me through my day, it wasn't fun. Everything that could go wrong did, working Saturday is the same as a Monday.
A work day is a work day. Call in days suck the most.
I prefer to work weekends to get Tuesday and Wednesday off and go fishing without the weekend warriors on the lake.
It's those shitty days that make the good days with it. I hope everything worked out for you at the end of the day.
🧢
My Father was the same , worked for TEREX in the 80's in africa, everyday was a monday. we used to have a game at dinner who could guess the cost of the highest cost part broken today and round 2 was who broke it (driver/mechanic/boss)
Bro hang in there. We need dudes like you
I always appreciate seeing the whole process with the bad parts included, so thank you for showing the damage. That is part of the story that I am trying to watch.
These dudes are Consistenly transparent with how things really go. That honesty goes a long way.
The snowcat looks awesome as part of the heavy rescue fleet. Definitely add spotlights, emergency lighting, a badass winch
Like a winch off a 5 ton
What did he do with the other one? I know Robby wanted to buy one.
What you need to add to that snow cat is a compact boom, able to lift up to 5 tons for those tough jobs. It would be a great way to reduce the damage on recoveries.
A roll back sled would be simple and faultless.
@@jimireggaebacking up?
best way to reduce damage would be to not rip of the axle in the middle of nowhere xD
Even better way to reduce damage is to not think a ram can handle that terrain.
One he can detach at times.
Awesome countryside for rescue work. Appreciate that you owned the damage caused by the track catching up in the wheel well and will help the owner fix it.
I came for the heavy equipment rescues, but subscribed for the scenery and the drone shots. Sometimes I have to go back and watch a section again, either to enjoy the shot, or because the scenery distracted me from the recovery activity.
Love the entire Sparks team, massive knowledge & skills to build and operate all the different kinds of equipment. Big props to the entire video production team for all they do and add. A favorite on one recovery was when Heavy D kind of brain froze when he realized he couldn't operate all three heavy units at the same time, with that thought balloon added. More so because he realized it at multiple points during that recovery, thought loading, please wait.
Man they tore that thing up before you even got involved- as a tow company owner I know what it feels like to come clean lol
Scrapped that rig, but it's all content so all good, besides it wasn't worth a darn to start with apparently.
I've said many times. The wreck may have stopped, but the damage isn't over until it's out of the hole. A person can only do so much to try and prevent further damage, but unfortunately , sometimes it's unavoidable.
@@getinit56 amen - sadly most people don’t understand that
Too bad he couldn't put it in RWD and gas along with the tow. Also, they bent up the side step, and probably the front fender too.
@@Mrbfgray Not to mention the resort got a free advertisement to 3.55 million subscribers.
Those tracks are an example that being able to drive design software without having a lot of practical experience leads to some pretty poor products! In spite of those things fighting you it all came together for a pretty clean recovery. Good job everyone!
It looks like the tracks on the truck are too small for it.
They really aren’t made I don’t think for really deep snow like out there. I have a set of them and they work great on not so deep snow. Just not in really deep snow. I love mine. But yeah, they definitely could use a lot better entering and departure angles on the tracks.
@@kruser3333did you see the hellcat jeep tearing through deep snow on the snowed in series. It ripped through deep snow.
The sound of your snow cat brings music to the ears. Almost need to fabricate another pair of ski's for recoveries
A small amount of panel damage is bound to happen when doing this type of recovery! I'm sure the owner is much happier to have the truck (even if it is damaged). It is awesome to see you share that stuff, thank you!
With that track wreaking the guard it’s good to see “honesty is the best policy”. I’m a fan for life of this videos now. Top blokes. 👍🏻
Thank you for your Service, Dave! And thank you for being a great role model for young guys.
I respect your complete disclosure regarding the damage that occurred. Stuff happens! It is all in the way you handle it. I worked in an auto shop for 14 years. Honesty and integrity has always been #1 for me. I could not stress to crew members how important it is to be honest about damage to customers cars! Let's inform and repair ASAP. This is the only way to build trust and forever relationships with customers!! Great job on the recovery!!!
Love how Dave has been through this tells him what to do better how to fix it why it’s messed up and then makes a joke about how he’s done it himself. Great guy.
One thing good for the snow cat. If you put a 4 stage rotator on the back use it a Crane. and a sking. Pick the front ends up and stuff.
Very cool, I appreciate the honesty of when things go wrong, if nothing else it might give someone else a heads up. Love the overhead drone shot with the lights, that was too cool!
I appreciate the honesty, Dave. You didn't have to point it out but it shows character. God bless
I love how you were honest about the damage, I think it’s great you own up to your mistakes. My kids watch this show with us and see it and it’s good for them to realize it happens to us all.
Every time I see you get into a snow cat, I remember my three years teaching skiing at Bogus Basin just outside of Boise, Idaho. Every single year, they rolled at least one cat. I now live in Nevada and can see Tahoe (well, it is over the edge of the mountain from here, but I can see the cats grooming after dark). I don't have any connections, but I still wonder how many they roll a year.
That’s awesome you used to do that I love going to bogus!!
As a cat operator in Tahoe I can tell you that snowcat rollovers are actually incredibly rare.
Recovery like that , there is always a chance of damage. I did so many recoveries in my day of driving a Tow truck and sometimes you can't avoid a bit of damage no matter how careful you are.
About those tracks flipping over, @CaseyLaDelle used a set of American Track Tucks "Dominator" model very successfully. He talked about the track flipping problem and pointed out his setup that wasn't a concern. Because the Dominator model is longer and his Jeep wasn't lifted up so high that there'd even be room for the track to flip. So maybe that was the trouble with this pickup? It just had too much lift, created lots of room for the track to flip? @CaseyLaDelle did also mention there was a anti-flip add-on he could buy but again, he didn't need it.
I saw another version that had straps that would limit the range the tracks can rotate.
Not having "enough room" to flip just means the track has to crash into the fender/body somehow to create that limit.
Casey is one smart man; he should have been an engineer.
Casey dumped that jeep and those tracks. Has bigger and better designed tracks on his Ram service truck now. I think they are all terrain also, instead of snow only. Good new videos, watched last week. (edit to add third sentence)
@@daemn42 "having enough room" means a super high center of gravity which you don't want when on snow cause you don't know where softspots and dips are that can cause you to easy roll it.
Great job David Sparks great job to the crew outstanding recovery thank you for sharing.
Suprised you dont put a stinger on the rear of the beast like tow truck. use the skies on the rear axle. Then you have full control of any thing you move or pull.
I would like to see that done. Maybe a chain sling setup.
Wow. That place is GORGEOUS. I thought for sure this recovery was one of Heavy D's vehicles when I saw the tracks.
I'm sure Heavy D was like "hey - bring that thing down to the shop and let us build you some legit tracks that will never break." LOL
Glad you shared the good the bad the ugly!! As always you work through the problems and figure it out!!!
Met your dad awhile back may have given him a haircut but besides that overwhelmed by hearing that he is on another journey. My deepest condolences to family, friends, staff, reptiles
So many faces and conversations very grateful to have met many inspiring humans 🕊️🇨🇦
Good call on talking about the damage
Heavy D, your awesome for helping people out and Honest/accountable 😇, which to most people never happen's.
Heavy D, Thanks for the content as do appreciate the honesty. However, I do watch both you and Matt's Off-Road Recovery, and some of the stuff you guys do is awesome. As someone who has helped with military recovery missions, it is very difficult to bring the vehicle out in the same condition it goes in. Hats off to both you and Matt for doing all you can do to ensure safety and taking care of all the equipment used for every recovery mission. But, if and when damage is done that is a risk and I do not feel that you or Matt should be held responsible. You are doing your best to help out a client who would not have been in any type of recovery situation if they had slowed down and planned their route a little better. Thanks again for the content. You Diesel Brothers take care of yourselves out there.
that green on the snowcat looks sick i love it i think it could do with a little bed on the back and a winch and maybe some more lights on it but it looks amazing
So cool brother! To see men take off their gloves to shake hands and look a man in the eyes while doing so. Your nut brother too. And others ! Awesome!
It shows respect for each other! God bless!
Should just make 2 more skies so you can put all tires or tracks on them. Maybe add links between them to keep them oriented correctly too if the axle is compromised in its mountings.
By the time they’d make two more or go get them they’d probably be back already.
@@saskduramax8245 didn’t say specifically for this job. It seems like the skis work well, maybe invest in that for future situations. Hence add big possible braces or something to allow the vehicle to pull via skis vs high up on the vehicle. Just a thought.
Dave, thanks for your candor, that was a very difficult recovery and overall you truly performed an amazing recovery! Cheers
Nice job , didn't know there were not good tracks out there. This should be spread to everyone.
The new snowcat is a fricken beaast. I like it a lot. I hope this informs folks not to cheap out when purchasing track kits. Make sure it has anti tipping tabs.
The snow and scenery is beautiful 😍 I am always amazed at all the knowledge 🙌 you all have😅 Please be safe 🙏 ❤️
Hi Patty where are you from?
Enjoy the different type of recoveries you guys do. Great stuff.
Beautiful country trail scenery. Right group, correct machines. Even under tow on a groomed tail, you got stuck several times. Made it to the shop.
Love the Heavy Rescue insignia
6:05 It's great to see that men of integrity still exist.

I have been amazed that all the recovering you guys do you do not more damage.
You guys do such a great job in recovering items or recovering equipment if you don't damage it. That's what amazes me you take pride in what you guys do and you have a well-trained crew.
Maaaaan I can smell and feel the beauty of the snow in this video! I miss real snow!!!! Haven't had a good winter in Wisconsin for years.
Impressive you got that out with that little damage.
"This freakin' snow it SO ICY !..." -Hans, 2024
Great job getting the job done considering the damage already done. It's a design flaw in that style of tracks people don't realize.. thanks for sharing the good and bad.
I'm new to your channel and I am a huge fan already! I love what you stand for and you guys are tough as nails, but have huge hearts!! Thank you!!
Went from stuck to totaled when you guys were done 😂
Dave must play cards with Rob Wight and Robert Stewart on the weekends? That or he has the most blanketed blanket permit anyone has ever had issued!! Either way, my man is doing the damn thing!
I wonder this in most videos
First and foremost love the channel and all the content. 20 yr plus Cat operator. I have some advice..... same advice I've given to a lot of guys. "Always roll out, never pull out!". Take out the cut or curl rather than pulling blade up. Avoids leaving whoops or giant snow pules and disappates snow evenly. Try it you'll like it 😁
Amazing view from the drone going through the trees with the lights !!! Makes me want to play in the snow !
Hi brandi
Can you do a yard tour or equipment tour?
As usual you are out helping someone in a bind. Never do you let us or them down. Always looking forward to the next video. Have a blessed day.
I’m glad you showed that on the bed side that just proves no matter how safe and careful you are stuff still happens I respect how you didn’t hide it
Its great you showed that. Lots of people attempt to be perfect 100% of the time and see that online and truly believe it is possible. In life if nothing goes wrong or you don't make a mistake it does not mean it will never happen but instead its only a matter of time. What you do in those moments is what is most important
That was an excellent job well done !!!
Thanks much for coming clean on the damage, Good true people don't do coverups, somethings may suck, but honesty and integrity, integrity will pull ya thought anything and a coverup or lye definitely will be a downfall for witch there is no recovery from. just ask don...
Very nice of you to help cover his repairs, hopefully you can cover a decent chunk of it because of the views.
Great work guys. Awesome team work and love the badass equipment.
ya we much prefer the honesty thanks for that !
What's happening with the 6x6 build ?
That was such a beautiful video to watch, Editing / drone work 💯
Well, you know the old saying; "Stuff Happens".
At least it's not still rotting up on the mountain.
Another great lift boys.
Are you guys just built different or are your sweatshirts heated or something because it looks like you’re just in a hoodie in what has to be 20° or less So are you guys just equipped for the snow or are you wearing a bunch of layers underneath that? We just don’t see
Bodies are acculmated to the cold
I live in north carolina now I'm from New Jersey I'll be in a short sleeve t-shirt working when it's 35 degrees out and the other dudes will be in winter jackets and sweatshirts looking at me like I'm nuts
Plus there’s a difference when you’re just standing in the cold versus working out in it. To much stuff on you just sweat.
In Canada we wear shorts
@@ScottArmas107I think that's the biggest factor
"If Your Not First You're Last!!!"
Nice badass wrecker!!
Awesome shot pulling it through the snow!!
Love the recovery work videos and the camera shots are awesome
I think they damaged the vehicle more than what it was before 😂😂😂😂
Awesome snowcat, I grew up skiing and watched those going straight up a mountain grooming , . Cool ❄️❄️
Love watching y'all . Awesome recovery even though you messed the fender up. Dave love watching y'all play with your New Toys .
Show me a tow or recovery company who hasn’t done damage to a customer’s vehicle. I think in some states it’s required if you are a licensed company 🤡
That thing is a BEAST! Love it! Much love from Henderson Ga USA
Hi guys, I know your the Boss But I do love the fact that you just get stuck in there with everyone else. It shows what a great guy you are x
appreciate the honesty, heavy seems like such a solid dude
Respect for telling us about the damage ❤
Wow, Heavy D, with your arsenal of equipment I doubt there's anything anywhere you can't recover. Love how you roll !
I love those Homebrew boots you put on the front tracks of the homeless Dodge. Without those boots you would have worked that groomer to death. Dave and crew did a fabulous job. Reminds me when snowmobiling in the mountains with my Buds and returning to base camp wee hours in the morning because of breakdowns and dig outs. Tired as Hell and ready for a Hockey Pop.
I appreciate the heads up on that brand of tracks. They are tempting at the price point.
I Appreciate ya being upfront that ya made a mistake not everyone does that
Awesome vid HDS guys. Content, footage, edting all fantastic. On a side note, I live in a hot climate and we get romantic about snow. However I can see that every part of this story could have ended in recovery/repairs that take months or lethal threat to people's lives because of the heavy vehicles and freezing weather. Well done.
That is what's great about Dave, no hiding no lies no camera trickery to keep us from seeing the bad, things happen not always good things and Dave shows it all the good and the bad, very honest good people
Dave that's WHY you are Sooooo successful because you are always helping someone who is in need and you are always straight up. You are always honest with people and you don't take advantage of people and that makes you an Amazing person. Thank You for being the Man that you have become something this world needs more of NEVER change.
American track truck does offer front and rear limiters to prevent this from happening! I have them on my set
Helluva job guys! On a helpful note you could use some headsets to use so the driver can hear whats going on.
Great job man ,you rescued them and I doubt they would have gotten that thing out if you wouldn't have go and got them.
Amazing content as always we never get snow like this in the UK
Man being upfront and honest is the only way to be means ya got good character
Always the truth, straight up ! It's a matter of Honor, never to be a liar!
Sure that happens to the best Recovery People and you here in 10 ft snow making it look easy... good work man
I think what yall do by helping others is great. And I love all your big and loud toys
Love you guys, it'd be a dream come true to be able to come out west and hang for a week. I'm all about the the snow and heavy recoveries. I watch every single one of your videos, keep up the great work guys!!
The overhead drone shots are so boss at night. Love the cinematography and editing.
Deisel Dave, I am proud of you again you are out there in your shorts you are a man. Heavy D you are always transparent that's why we love you and your channel. Great all what a rescue.
AHHHHH... Hey guys hope all went ok but a heads up to not pull from the corners (ie tires) at an angle. You need to build a brace to attach between the 2 skis to hold it solid once mounted and pull from the center. I had a accident that cost me doing it that way once. Just trying to help. Love the content all the best to the team!!!
Dave love the new machine love that u put the reputation aside and showed where u messed up on the recover love the video, love from the Chesapeake bay md
You guys ever think of making a solid draw bar for towing in situations like these? That what we use on our snowmobile groomers to pull the drags. It keeps it following you much better than a chain or rope. I’m guessing you would have to engineer a “universal” mount for the vehicle to be towed but something like that might keep the following vehicle from running off track and going into ditches/etc.
A big sled with a tow bar would probably work pretty well
Honesty is always appreciated. We know you are human and accidents happen to you, too. Honesty= integrity
Nice job. It pays to have the knowledge but most of all the right equipment. Stay Safe.
Love this stuff. Thanks for the entertainment guys!!❤
Having worked in northern Utah winters, my hands hurt just watching this video; but the machine is a MONSTER. Great fun to watch, even if I wanted another blanket. Say what you want about Utah, but its GORGEOUS.
