This is for the fans of Group B rallying. Did not do much editing in this video. It´s pure for the images and especially for the sound. I garanty you enjoy ; ) For more, check out volume 2 and 3. Recommended!
I miss those days so much. I miss my youth. I was carefree. I didn't have a stinkin' mortgage. I didn't have a wife. I lived each day for that day. I didn't care about tomorrow. I miss my youth. I miss those days so much! Thumbs up to stave off the tears please.
oh nostalgia, even though i was too young to ever have had the privilege of watching these beautiful machines in action, i still almost feel like shedding a tear every time I see awesome videos of them. You have to admit, group B rallying would have to have been the most entertaining form of motorsport in history.
This videos has mostly parts of the Rally of Portugal, witch was great! Fortunately I was lucky to see this cars! Since a young boy, I always went to watch the rally and I'll never forget the thrill of it! The huge crowds walking lots of kilometers from the parking spots to the track and along it, the spirit around the rally, the sound of the cars and people shouting when the car was approaching, the tracks, everything!
thank you so much for posting a video with no music,,,we like to hear the raw untamed firespitting roar of group b cars such as the quattro, its not just a rally car,,its the bond between man and machine,,a bond no1 can explain but when i hear the sound of a group b it makes me feel warm inside, a car is more than a piece of engineering, its a living breathing wonder,,
It's not about lack of skill. It's about lack of fear. I also like how no one needed a warning whistle to clear the way since you could hear these turbo monsters from miles away. WRC cars have no soul.
Exactly. Absolute monsters. The Lancia Delta S4 done a test at Estoril, Portugal and posted a time that would have placed it on 6th place on the grid for that years Grand Prix. Mental to think how advanced they were for their time.
Jesus !! Those were rallyes back in the 80's and early 90's, pure nerve, pure speed and power, I got stuck in my head the memory of a Lancia Delta Integrale's brake discs on fire at night, going full throtle !!!
If group B ever comes back, I promess I´ll watch WRC more offen. Motorsports are made of heroes, and nowadays we don´t have´em anymore. They drove really fast cars. Drivers like Senna (F1), Vattanen (Rally) were considered ruthless and fearless, therefore watching motorsports on those days was much more exciting.
I remember the signs scattered around the RAC stages: 'Motorsport is dangerous'. Very true, and should be remembered by both drivers (who did) and spectators (who mostly didn't) ...
I sat in the cockpit of one of the two brilliant models of these machines (the metro and the audi) at the rallying museum in the UK back when I was 15 without the faintest clue that I had my sorry butt plonked on one of the greatest pieces of motorsport history...
fantastic job on the video, like has been said.... your choice of music was spot on! no techno, no endless crashes, just a lot of what Group B was all about..... motorized insanity. despite being a huge Lancia Delta fan.....damn those audi's had it going on! thanks for the sick edit! ~lox
In a drag race Group B cars are epic. Brutal acceleration. But they are hard to control, which makes them super fabulas for the fans. Great drivers really made it a spectacle.
Thanks for the video... I think that WRC´s are efficient and beautiful cars but, those were the days... those were unbelievable powerful machines that made every rallye fan drive hundreds of km just to see them... I live near Sintra and every year was a true celebration on Lagoa Azul and Peninha (this video has images of those stages)...
group b was before my time and its new to me but holy shit it is amazing to watch. the cars, the speed, the sound and the drivers got some mad skills. you just dont see hardcore badass racing like this anymore. why dont they bring this kind of rally racing back?
this is such a great video, love the variety of Group B's you have in there, with the monster Quattro power slide at the end....what's not to like!!!!!
Thank you, Thank you, other potential uploaders of Group B videos please note the lack of crap music over the top of this..... The cars provide that !!
That's the Citroën BX 4TC. A Group B car that came to late and had no succes. It only did three WRC events in 1986, before the team withdrew from the scene.
I love that each car had it's own distinct sound, much more so in those days then with todays racing cars. Each one sounds fantastic in it's own right, but the Audi's.....they sound like a mechanized demon.
its an opel manta 400 with twincams and weber 50s on rally form, and a slick shifting closed ratio 5 speed gearbox. It is one of the greatest cars in standard and rally form..
Holly Hell this vid owns. Gotta love the I5 audi motor... Verry distinct sound. All these cars sound so healthy. This vid makes me want to start wrenching on my URQ right now. "project car"
These cars have an absurd amount of power. I've shown this video to some friends (who don't care for motorsport) and turned them into petrol heads. That's how intense Group B was.
even tho group b was before my time. i can tell by just watching these videos how raw it was. crazy fast cars, crazy courses and crazy fans lining the course. i mean it sure as hell isnt very safe but i think thats why people loved group b so much. i think we need to go back to times like this where we can enjoy what we like and not have so many safety restrictions on every aspect of our life. but thats just my opinion.
Man imagine if Group B still existed today? We would seriously see some super modified and extreme aerodynamic rally cars based off current models like the Fiesta..and such o.o
@skibum291 I'm so glad someone else said that! As soon as I saw the first slide I burst into laughter because of just how ridiculous it was. I love current rally, but the cars today while gorgeous just don't match cars from these ages (though Group B isn't still my #1 favorite). I LOVE RALLY! Kei
Pure sound it is, indeed. It was so fantastic when Audi Sport Quattro S1 was in a car exhibition about 200m from my home here in Finland...It was from Juha Kankkunen's collection. Too bad they didn't race it. :I
The Audi seems to be the best car of this era... the most aggressive, speedy and good sounding car in this video.. especially at 5:20 Great video, thanks for sharing!
videos cool, i simply turn up the sound on my computer speakers and sounds like i am actually there watching these cars zoom by me. thanks for posting it.
you can see them. in my country Belgium and even Germany and France the annual historic rallies are coming. you can see them again...but with HP limiters on em. so if you want to hear that wonderfull noise hit your ears Pack your bags!
I miss those days so much. I miss my youth. I was carefree. I didn't have a stinkin' mortgage. I didn't have a wife. I lived each day for that day. I didn't care about tomorrow. I miss my youth. I miss those days so much!
Thumbs up to stave off the tears please.
There will never be anything like them again...The Noise...The Power...The Speed...THE GROUP B!
oh nostalgia, even though i was too young to ever have had the privilege of watching these beautiful machines in action, i still almost feel like shedding a tear every time I see awesome videos of them.

That last clip of the Audi is fantastic! Shows how much work the drivers had to put in with the old tires and that kind of power.
The commitment from these drivers is INSANE, as are the spectators!
the sound of that porsche omfg..
its just so sick.. it gave me goosebumps everywhere
The Audi Quattro has the most amazing sounds ever, pure power and soul.
The legends of Group B, surely missed, the greatest era of Rallying ever.
So right!! The noise from The 5 cylinder Audi Quattro, the V6 in the metro and the straight 4 in the Rs200 - unbelievable sound!!
thank you so much for posting a video with no music,,,we like to hear the raw untamed firespitting roar of group b cars such as the quattro, its not just a rally car,,its the bond between man and machine,,a bond no1 can explain but when i hear the sound of a group b it makes me feel warm inside, a car is more than a piece of engineering, its a living breathing wonder,,
absolutely... this video continues giving me goose bumps out of control.
It's not about lack of skill. It's about lack of fear.
I also like how no one needed a warning whistle to clear the way since you could hear these turbo monsters from miles away. WRC cars have no soul.
Wow, the music back in the 80's was just soo much better than today!
Exactly. Absolute monsters. The Lancia Delta S4 done a test at Estoril, Portugal and posted a time that would have placed it on 6th place on the grid for that years Grand Prix. Mental to think how advanced they were for their time.

awesome footage and the fact it doesn't have music lets you hear the worlds best noises that came from Group B
This is the best GPB video I have seen on You Tube. Thanks for posting it, even the BX4TC is on here! Cheers!
If group B ever comes back, I promess I´ll watch WRC more offen. Motorsports are made of heroes, and nowadays we don´t have´em anymore. They drove really fast cars. I loved watching Group B competition! I sorely miss it!
This was insane! Pure monsters racing close to people!
Wish I was born about 40 years ago :D
This is the only time I would like to be older, to have seen this awesome machines. The gold days of the rallies
That Audi Quattro was a INSANE FUCKING MONSTER!!!
I sat in the cockpit of one of the two brilliant models of these machines (the metro and the audi) at the rallying museum in the UK back when I was 15 without the faintest clue that I had my sorry butt plonked on one of the greatest pieces of motorsport history...

Group B had the balls! I wish I had been born a few years earlier to witness this golden era of rallying :p
I am only 22 myself. I was born in 1986. I hear ya. Colin MacRae is my hero..He will be missed.
everyone who understands to cars must love them. pure awesomeness
In a drag race Group B cars are epic. Brutal acceleration. But they are hard to control, which makes them super fabulas for the fans. Great drivers really made it a spectacle.
And finally something we were waiting for long time... no music, only the engine orchester... thanks, josti88 =D
Thanks for the video... I think that WRC´s are efficient and beautiful cars but, those were the days... those were unbelievable powerful machines that made every rallye fan drive hundreds of km just to see them... I live near Sintra and every year was a true celebration on Lagoa Azul and Peninha (this video has images of those stages)...
cosa non darei per riavere queste macchine nei rally...il rombo dei loro motori da emozioni fortissime ancora oggi.
Flippin' heck! That was a feast for the eyes and ears! Thanks for posting this. I really love those engines!
group b was before my time and its new to me but holy shit it is amazing to watch.
the cars, the speed, the sound and the drivers got some mad skills.
you just dont see hardcore badass racing like this anymore.
why dont they bring this kind of rally racing back?
Excellent video! Cheers for not adding any music. The sound of those engines is more than enough to satisfy!
the sound of the audi is stunning !
Tks for cars, for fans, for pilots, for GROUP B. . tks for ALL!!
_o_ you are the best _o_
Bring back Group B Thats all I can say!!! Remember these cars as lad and nothing to date compares to them!!!
this is such a great video, love the variety of Group B's you have in there, with the monster Quattro power slide at the end....what's not to like!!!!!
The sound of the audi quattro gives me goosebumbs!
god damn that guy at the very end was killing those turns lol... must have been so badass to see that in person.
Vrooom! Pop! *whistle* love these sounds in any order
Group B drivers had balls of steel!! plus a lot more skill than today's drivers, as the cars never had all the technology they have now.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! It brings back memories ..
0.39. You'd have a smile ear to ear after pulling off that slide at that speed without killing anybody. Magic.
Absolutely first rate. This video is pure gold.
Simply amazing. The soundtrack of my life
Thank you, Thank you, other potential uploaders of Group B videos please note the lack of crap music over the top of this..... The cars provide that !!
80er....The Golden years of motorsport....
The best shot is at about 3:40, the size of the flame coming out the back of the Audi, FANTASTIC!!
Amazing engineering and amazing drivers!
That's the Citroën BX 4TC. A Group B car that came to late and had no succes. It only did three WRC events in 1986, before the team withdrew from the scene.
Saved the best for last... WHAT a power slide the Audi is making! BEST ever
das beste was jemals im rallysport zu hören war
We will never again see Man, Machine and Crowd-Control stretched to its maximum like this.
I love that each car had it's own distinct sound, much more so in those days then with todays racing cars. Each one sounds fantastic in it's own right, but the Audi's.....they sound like a mechanized demon.
What I love about Group B is how INSANE manufacturers were with their cars; I mean, look at the Metro 6R4!
I use to like rally... until 1990. And today is nothing compared to this
Thank you for the sound!
IMO, the audis sound the best. So badass. I love watching group b!
its an opel manta 400 with twincams and weber 50s on rally form, and a slick shifting closed ratio 5 speed gearbox. It is one of the greatest cars in standard and rally form..
the best sound of all cars: audi quattro
and also the smaller rwd cars
.+* luv'em *+.
thx a lot josti
Holly Hell this vid owns. Gotta love the I5 audi motor... Verry distinct sound. All these cars sound so healthy. This vid makes me want to start wrenching on my URQ right now. "project car"
The very essence of rallying... Group B cars are fast, loud & kick ass!!
ahhh.... the glory days of rally... the king of the hill were the audi s1 and the 205 t16!!
awesome legends!
Fantastic, the good old days
These cars have an absurd amount of power. I've shown this video to some friends (who don't care for motorsport) and turned them into petrol heads. That's how intense Group B was.
had the chance to see most of this cars this week end , they are fantastic much more interesting than the playstation cars of today..
thank you for not adding a bunch of crappy music to this video... No engine noise is like no moaning in a porn.

@skibum291 I'm so glad someone else said that! As soon as I saw the first slide I burst into laughter because of just how ridiculous it was. I love current rally, but the cars today while gorgeous just don't match cars from these ages (though Group B isn't still my #1 favorite).

Real rally spirit. thanx for sharing. beautiful sounds. I'm a musician, I can say it's sound and not noise lol.
The Audi seems to be the best car of this era... the most aggressive, speedy and good sounding car in this video.. especially at 5:20

videos cool, i simply turn up the sound on my computer speakers and sounds like i am actually there watching these cars zoom by me. thanks for posting it.
The Manta 400 was fully homologated into Group B. It's predecessor, the Ascona, was a Group 4 car.
NICE! Group B....it will never be like this again :(
audi quattro at 0:38 probably one of the most amazing car sounds ever...pure machine
group b is for real men .... awesome i remember it when i was young :X
simplesmente lindo Tudo puro e sem a electronica de hoje em dia!! Verdadeiros pilotos
5:18 of video is unbelievable!
This video also shows on of the best rallys on world: Rally of Portugal in the famous Serra de Sintra.
Mate, that's just fantastic! Love the fact that theres no bloody music!
you can see them. in my country Belgium and even Germany and France the annual historic rallies are coming. you can see them again...but with HP limiters on em. so if you want to hear that wonderfull noise hit your ears Pack your bags!
At 3:20...that S4 drifting around the snow-covered corner.
Very class.
