    Great advice!! I just got a transfer bench yesterday and couldn’t figure out how to use the shower curtain without getting water everywhere. The idea of cutting the plastic curtain is a great idea! Thanks!

    How do you loosen the suction cups to take the bench out to reposition the bench or clean the tub? They really do hold well.

    • @EquipMeOT
      @EquipMeOT  Před rokem +1

      I use a plastic putty knife. They can really be a pain to remove!

      I just had it put in this week and plumber came yesterday and had to fix the hit water in the tub. Somehow he moved it all ascue and on my walker I can't get it to move now so can't use the shower in the tub. New grab bars all installed. New shower head on hook near where transfer bench should be.
      But thanks for suggestion will see if he can come back with some plastic putty knives.😊

    Could you explain a bit further or demo how you’d cut the shower curtain to better fit into the slit of the tub bench? Would you just recommend cutting 2 long vertical pieces into the curtain and guiding them into the slit? Hope this makes sense! That’s always a tricky issue to help patients keep water inside itself! Thanks so much for your help and sharing your tips :)

    • @EquipMeOT
      @EquipMeOT  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, 2 vertical slots up to the height of the bench seat and the width of the opening. I’m actually filming a clarifying video for this exact process this week!

    How can this be adapted to fit a jetted tub that has a higher side? The feet do not quite reach the floor fully extended.

    • @EquipMeOT
      @EquipMeOT  Před 2 lety +1

      If you search tub bench leg extenders you can find extenders that will add up to 6 inches to height.

    Do you pull the tabs to remove the TRANSFER BENCH

    • @EquipMeOT
      @EquipMeOT  Před 3 lety +1

      The tabs on the suction cups are meant to be pulled to release the suction, but I’ve found that sometimes that’s not enough if the tub bench has been in place for a long time. Sometimes a flat implement (ex. Butter knife or spatula, etc) plus pulling the tab should get it to release. Hope that answers your question!

    I just don't want my home attendant to see me naked even though I have a injury

    • @EquipMeOT
      @EquipMeOT  Před 3 lety

      That’s totally reasonable! There is always a way to set it up without having to be on display! Start with an opaque shower curtain instead of the clear one for this setup. Depending on how much assistance you need throughout the process, there is always a way to ensure adequate privacy. It just takes a little creativity and patience!
