Today let’s talk about why astronauts use spirulina. Spirulina is a type of dark green algae that is super concentrated with all sorts of nutrients.
Astronauts have a unique problem. They have to prevent certain health issues, such as:
    1. Bone density depletion
    2. Muscular atrophy
    3. Metabolic rate change
    4. Loss of body mass
    5. Cardiovascular breakdown
    6. Decreased immune system
Astronauts have to carry food that is persevered, dehydrated, or freeze-dried. They are also in an environment where they are exposed to high amounts of radiation, and they have to artificially regulate the oxygen, CO2, and temperature in the environment.
NASA did a research project in the 70s that concluded that spirulina is one of the most powerful concentrated foods available to mankind for increased immune function and removing toxins. They also stated that the nutrient value of 1000kg of fruits and vegetables equates to 1kg of spirulina.
    Benefits of spirulina:
‱ It’s loaded with potassium, calcium, magnesium, and beta carotene
‱ It has all 8 essential amino acids
    ‱ It’s a nutrient-dense superfood
‱ It has iron and folate (it has 6x more absorption than normal iron supplements)
‱ It has a lot of phytochemicals (can help remove toxins and improve immunity)

Thank you Dr Berg. I am following the intermittent fasting, stopping eating sugar, starches, and grains. Added ACV with whole Lemons blended. And added spurlina tabs. I have lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks. Im sleeping. And my blood sugar is under control without meds. Dr Berg, thank you so much. Oh im walking 45 minutes per day. I feel so good. And it is so easy. Stevia is also helpful. I plan to reverse my diabetes, get rid of the other old man problems. Kudos Dr Berg.

Thankyiu dr Berg. I really I am Enthusiastic about the surplus of of your content I have recently found on your channel. For almost twenty years I’ve been trying to balance out 200 grams of carbs or more a day with insulin as a type 1 diabetic as I was in the frame of mind that you need carbs to expend for fuel for a working day. I’ve recent has a few months of work and watched some of this content. It’s made me do more research and made me realise that organisations such as the FDA have the information they provide quite dangerously wrong if it is not scrutinised properly. Your content puts everything on to perspective. I gradually lowered mired my carb to insulin ratio. Now I basically ration my carbs and take the smallest dose of bonus insulin possible. My health is already so much better and hba1c. Becoming pretty close to non diabetic. All this is because basically during daily working life I forfeit that you can also get your energy needs primary from good healthy fat. If anyone needs proof that your diet plan is a healthy model. I can see that it is, as a type 1 dieabetic that has to measure everything from carbs to exercise i a can say without doubt that low carb. Is the way to go. And you your channel is one of the places where the content is a good place to find a really good reference guide sideline for anyone trying to reaserch realistic biological personal health.

    So here is my story..
I grew up in Portugal đŸ‡”đŸ‡č a small country in Europe. I lived close to my grandparents and spend most of my free time with them.
They would eat mostly Keto but without even knowing. Our diet was based on dairy, lots of salads, soups, pork, chicken, lamb and lots of fish. They never tried pizza( they passed in 2019/2020 at the age of 102 & 99. They also never tried soda, fast food or ready meals. Most of our soups would be from whatever my grandpa had available from his garden. They also ate their larger meal in the morning and decreasing the amount of food through the day. I was allowed a cup of soda for my birthday and that was it. My grandmother made lots of fermented vegetables, cheese, olive oil and even her own butter. Cleaning the food was also a very important part of our chores. Always clean your food. Unlike my grandparents my parents are more inclined to modern food. Not huge amount but they’ll buy ham, pastries and other foods that aren’t so good. When I was 24 years old I moved to a different county due to work and since then my diet just got worse and worse. I no longer had the neighbour to trade fresh organic eggs for a bunch of spinach. I started developing allergies, brain fog, anxiety. Any social event that included a drink or food would make my heart race. When I first heard about Dr Berg I didn’t went straight into the diet. I studied a lot about Keto not understanding that Keto was my growing up( diet)principals after all.
When I made this connection I started eating like I did when I was little and up to my mid 20’s.
I now corrected my allergies. I don’t have acne, I do not have brain fog đŸ˜¶â€đŸŒ«ïž and most importantly I feel happy.
I did and do a lot of intermittent fasting and I feel great. I like to break my fast with blueberry water kefir blended with kale a tea spoon of spirulina.
I know you don’t send your products overseas but you should consider to. I’d certainly buy your supplements specially the vitamin d from mushrooms.
Keep your good work and thanks for sharing with us

I started taking Spirulina about ten years ago but stopped after I read some reports about toxins that are in some algae. However, in the 1980s we had a local radio station that had a contest to see who could hold onto a new truck the longest, it was an endurance contest. the same person won it both years and he credited his intake of algae. I also worked with a guy who took it in a bottle of water daily, he had so much energy he would sometimes run during his lunch break.

A few producers will include a 'Certificate of Analysis' with their Spirulina or will be happy to provide one on request. Not all Spirulina is created equally - some will probably do more harm than good but a good one will give you wonderful benefits.

Moringa as it has other benefits to spirulina. These things operate differently and you can’t just substitute one for the other. My advice is to rotate them and not use one thing every day or your body becomes allergic to it. We needs breaks inbetween prolonged use of supplements so use spirulina for a while then stop and try moringa then stop and use chlorella
      - mix and rotate, give your body breaks and gaps, let your body also heal inbetween and don’t overload.

My name is Mariela Gil thank you so much for all the information I had learned from you . First, I had slow metabolism on which I could not loose weight . I had high cholesterol 240 on which my doctor prescribed cholesterol pill . I did research and I change completely my nutrition . I refused to take the cholesterol pills. I follow your Keto diet . Well I lost 35 pounds . My type 2 diabetes A1C was 8 so I knew was high . Well I lowered to A1C 6 . This is a big change . I have been doing keto for over 4 years. I see the difference I don’t have brain fog . I am alert focus , less tired . Also my sugar is much better . My goal is A1C 5 . I will get there . Usually the last score to achieve is hard. I drink spirulina twice a day and I noticed the difference in my body.
Thank you so much . You are the best Doctor . You explained every single information and give us reference .

Have nearly eliminated all except for oc supplements by drinking one cup of Hibiscus tea a day for hypertension. I tested this for two months by using my monitor twice daily, starting end of March/23. All my numbers went down dramatically. Then checking with my primary dr, she said to stop taking one rx chlorthalidone and to reduce Losartan to 25 mg daily. I've been doing this ever since and I will see if I can go off the 25 mg Losrtan when I visit her next month. Thank you for that video which convinced me to try because an added bonus was getting off Potassium tablets because of side effects of bp meds. It helps because it helps alkalise the body. Many of us get sick specifically because we have become acidic. It's all about keeping your Blood and interstitium fluids high alkaline.
The interstitium is a contiguous fluid-filled space existing between a structural barrier, such as a cell membrane or the skin, and internal structures, such as organs, including muscles and the circulatory system. The fluid in this space is called interstitial fluid, comprises water and solutes, and drains into the lymph system. The interstitial compartment is composed of connective and supporting tissues within the body - called the extracellular matrix - that are situated outside the blood and lymphatic vessels and the parenchyma of organs.

You need special genes to get to a 100 years its not about the food.
They have asked many 100+ people about their eating and there is no connection to food.

Best of luck to you! It's a great goal, and living like you will reach 100 will certainly add many quality years to your life.
Don't pay any attention to those who seem to want to wipe the smile off someone's face just because they can't resist not doing so.

@@rzomg how many at 100 plus have been eating keto? Yes it may be in the genes of those that in the past have lived to be 100 and didn’t worry about what they ate. What age would those people have lived to if they had been eating a proper human diet? So in other words if eating a proper human diet 100 may be obtainable without those genes. If there really is such a gene.
