In this video we continue our journey into the lore of the God of war series. This was a non stop thrill ride as we discover an older yet wiser Kratos. Aside from the visuals my wife and I were completely blown away story telling and voice acting of each character. Santa monica studios truly created a masterpiece with this game. Leave your thoughts in the comment section and let us know what you think about the God of War franchise. - Hry
That Loki at the end hit everyone in the mouth😂
I had guessed it quite a while back.
Hit me In the mouth like my dad used to with the back of his hand😂
@@OrdemDoGraveto shut up
*PAAAUSE‼️🔥*
*EVERYBODY!!*
This ending hits different for me now then it did in 2018, I lost my mom last year. My family isn't from america, and her last wish was to be buried in our home country Nigeria, It was one hell of a journey to get her home. It brought me, my father and my brother closer. In Nigeria it is tradition for the sons of the parent to carry the casket so when Kratos said "carry her", it brought tears to my eyes because I know how much that meant to Atreus.
I carried my mother during her funeral so I understand completely from one son to another
Ragnarok is upon us. Stay tuned as we continue our journey with the God of war series into Ragnarok. Feel free to leave some suggestions of other games we should check out.
I think Ragnarok trailer comes first 😂😅😊
Bro red dead redemption gameplay reaction would be an emotional Rollercoaster 😊
Cannot wait to see you reacting to it. I am very excited for your next video.
The story trailer for ragnarok is epic you should watch it 😊😊
Should check out Red dead redemption 2 story. My all time favorite
So at 12:50, because the player kept running, you missed what Atreus was mentioning, but he was pointing to the yellow markings and grooves that were placed on that cliff. Him mentioning it means EVERY SINGLE TIME they had climbed cliffs and mountains using those colored grooves with the markings, it was Atreus' mom who placed those there from all she foresaw, which is why Atreus says, "She saw every step before we took it, like she was always with us, watching over us, leading us home."
The name Fay is derived from Laufay she is Loki's mother in Norse mythology!
Also people who knew a little about the mythology were sceptical about Atreus being Loki because of the Mistletoe arrows!
But, they messed with it a bit. In norse mythology, Loki didn't directly kill Balđr. He tricked the blind God Hödr into shooting him with an arrow made of mistletoe.
Also Loki's father in norse mythology is Fárbauti, a giant whose name translates to "dangerous striker" or "anger striker", which is a pretty good description for Kratos if you ask me.
The norns even call Kratos "cruel striker" in Ragnarok!
The loki and thor reveal were just so damn good.
I LOVE HOW TASHAS BRAIN WORKS. SHE BASICALLY PUTTOGETGER THAT FAYE KNEW THE WHOLE TRIP FROM THE JUMP
18:17 You might also check out the valkyrie fights that were cut from the video you watched, since they are kind of important for the next God of War game I think.
I agree, before Ragnarok you have to do a full Valkyrie video
Thor does mention Kratos taking down the Valkyries in their fight in Ragnarok so it would be an interesting review. Those Valkyries were hard af
Super important.. I was about to type this, but I haven't finished the video, so I thought I'd see if anyone else said it in case it was missing
wish granted
I highly recommend watching the raising Kratos documentary, a reaction would be great too! It gives insight into the making of the game and the industry as a whole
i second this Raising Kratos was amazing to see what went into making this masterpeice
This game really shows how Kratos grows as a person. From the beginning, he was firm with Atreus and frustrated. At the end, he was proud of Atreus at how much he matured. He was more parent like. I can’t wait to see you guys react to Ragnarök. It is by far the best game I’ve had the experience of playing and watching.
Love being able to re-experience this story with fresh and insightful minds.
Next one's gonna be EVEN LONGER and I'm here for it!
Can't wait to see you two react to the emotional close-to-home story of Ragnarok.
ALSO I hope the next set of GOW videos include all the key side missions and cutscenes to fully flesh out the context of everything.
Ragnarok is one of few games I've enjoyed so much that I played it to 100% completion, more so for the lore. Every single detail is worth discovering.
True- those Valkyrie and Berserker battles are killer, though. 😁
Yeees! I subscribed to them because they are one of the few reactors that actually try to pay attention and give genuine reactions to things.
I also agree on your Ragnarok point. Though, I think it stands for both 2018 and Ragnarok. So much great information on te characters, enemies, their motives, how certain things came to be, etc. Also, the talks with Mimir are very informative
That whole sequence where thor appeared was actually a dream that Atreus had that portends the future, he comments on how real the dream felt. If you look close enough you'll realize Atreus didn't age even though it said years later, that's apart of the dream. You'll see in the next game.
Also, one thing to mention. In Norse mythology, Loki is a son of Laufey (Lau FAE) and Farbauti (in translation, this means heavy hitter) which is epic how they made use of mythology to fit Kratos in there. Also, in Norse mythology, Loki made a bet with all the gods to harm Baldur, he knew Baldur!s weakness, so they started throwing all things at Baldur until one of them hit him with mistletoe and killed him. Baldur is a god of spring so when Baldur died, Fimbulwinter (eternal winter) came and Ragnarok started. Also VERY clever use of mythology.
It was the blind God Hödr that Loki tricked.
When god of war 2018 first came out, I automatically studied up on Norse mythology. And the amount of rage I had watching everyone’s reaction and hearing Loki and the first thing they vision is marvels Loki, ahhhhhhh! 😂
Lol yes
20:33 I think Freya also didn't want Kratos to kill Baldur since that would start the long winter and end in Ragnarök, next to him being her son.
I'm pretty sure it was more that it was her son lol
Congrats on finishing reacting to God of War 2018 can't wait to see your reaction to Ragnarok. Also I highly recommend you watch the God of War documentary Raising Kratos. It's very well done and shows just how hard the studio worked to create this masterpiece. Whether you do a reaction to the documentary on your channel or just watch it on your own time its a must watch for any God of War fan IMO.
Something I love about the ending is that Faye wanted to be buried with her people. They took her home
Let's go!
I've been looking forward to the moment of you seeing Atreus revealed as this game series version of Loki ever since I first saw your god of war lore videos! And it was an AMAZING moment; I've seen a few other reactors being a bit slow to realize that Atreus IS Loki, not just named for him, so it's great to see it picked up on!
One thing I love about this game is how much layered that reveal ultimately is, and the subtle foreshadowing to it. Atreus' appearance (scarred lips and red hair) is apparently a very accurate depiction of Loki, he wants to be a shapeshifter (when Loki is known for that), Jormagundr can't help but find him familiar when he is from the future and Loki is of course his father (and that prophecy would seem to suggest Kratos is killed and Atreus creates Jormagundr in his rage and grief), Atreus' behavior during that period when he lets his godhood get to his head is VERY similar to the way Loki is depicted at his worst... there is a LOT going on.
I also have to appreciate the sheer presence Thor has at the end. He doesn't need to say a word; his sheer size, the thunder booming the whole time, and the sight of his hammer all combine with the game telling you tales of his Kratos-like bloodlust and violence to tell you EXACTLY who this is.
Looking forward to your Ragnarok reactions!
Hi TNT Gaming, ive watched all of your GOW series and i must say both of your reactions are awesome. It's great to relive the games through different peoples eyes and especially knowing that you both catch on to the little things in the story. Wishing you both good health and im excited to see you both watch GOW Ragnarok! Much love - UK
I’m not sure they covered it in this walkthrough but kratos and Atreus do defeat/free all the Valkyrie’s…that does hold a lil weight in the next game and the last/hardest one Sigrun was romantically involved with Mimir (they’re all difficult) but sigrun was making players rage quit especially on the harder difficulties
So basically all the in game markers and golden cuneiforms you meet on the way were Fae's markings because she knew Kratos and Atreus would go that way. She had a gift of prophecy and she knew exactly where they would go and what would happen to them. And in the beggining when they cut the golden tree, they destroy the protection spell and that is how Baldur suddenly finds them. This story was a masterpiece. Cant wait for you to watch the sequel.
Can’t wait for the Ragnarok reactions! You guys definitely have to see the Valkyrie fights for the much needed context in that game
The mom foresaw it all. That's why her handprints is everywhere they walk or climb
❤❤❤❤❤ hey what a journey we have taken. Can't wait to see GoW Ragnarok with you guys ❤
Let me say this. Thor is not fat. He is built like those you see in Strongman Competitions.
I remember once the game goes back to the actual gameplay after that Thor cutscene, Atreus says something like, "I just had a dream, the winter was ending and Thor came to our house. But it didn't feel like a dream, it felt like the future." So, I'm sure you've already figured it out by now, but they hadn't slept for years, haha! I'm excited for the videos on Ragnarök, that game's got a pretty cool story.
You guys gotta hear all of Mimir’s stories. Seriously there’s a lot of lor that adds on to the story of this game and God of War Ragnorok. Make sure you guys react to that first before you start the next one.
Just a suggestion but maybe you guys should actually play ragnarok now that you know all of 2018. You definitely get a better grasp about the smaller things
This ending was epic. Once they go to Jotunheim, you hardly do anything- the game directs you to everything, but it's still gripping (mesmerizing, even). This also shows a wonderful twist on the origin story of Loki; in traditional Norse mythology, Loki was actually a pure-blood giant. He joined the Aesir when Odin made him his blood brother (partly because Odin wanted to watch him, partly because he admired Loki's tenacity). He was a troublemaker among the gods, but he always had Odin's protection.
Now- onto Ragnarok! 😁
There's a ton of behind the scenes information about this game. Cory Barlog (the game director) did numerous interviews.
One of the cooler things that was mentioned is the story of the entire game is given to you in the first hour of the game.
During the Baldur fight there's a stone pillar with paintings/carvings on it. If you replay that section it shows the entire story.
The lore regarding Loki is pretty interesting and is expanded upon in the second game.
So I'm glad yall FINALLY finished the story of GOW 2018. I never bought Ragnarok but just this weekend I decided to buy it. I started playing it and can't wait to go through the story and watch your reviews right after. Amazing content, please don't stop ❤️
Pro tip, go to Niflheim and use the training area to level up your abilities so you can augment them.
On lower difficulties it's not as important but on GMGoW it's basically mandatory.
@@BrandonWestfall I started the game on GMGOW. As I did in the 2018 version. I'm currently in the nidavellir
@@nemesis032886 Oh you're still super early into the game.
I will say exploring is totally worth it but don't waste time trying to 100% each area since you'll unlock new abilities to explore as you progress the story.
I played through both games on GMGoW as well. For me, it's the only way to experience these games.
@@BrandonWestfall yeah I know I basically turned it on for a few hours and gave it a go. Thor was fairly easy, I was a bit disappointed
@@nemesis032886 The triple berserker fight will piss you off. There's a few other super annoying fights but that one was brutal on GMGoW.
Best discussion I’ve seen so far for this game. Continue to do these after every video, it’s entertaining
Kratos vs Thor is the much awaited fight
After you scroll past the credits you’ll find out they that the visit from Thor was a vision from the future when Atreus/Loki wakes up and warns his father. Also there 9 side mission bosses that are worse than Baulder called Valkyries when you defeat all of them you will find out that Freya was their queen if you want to know more about them look up all RAGE QUIT videos surrounding CZcams
"They were sleeping for years" - oh god bless you, sweet summer child.
I loved tagging along with you guys on this journey.
I feel like today shoudl be the perfect day fro a double upload 👀
The part when atreus shoots his arrows at baulder while they are falling aways gets me!!! That part is so dope, the father and son teamwork.
You guys should definitly check out the Valkyire fights cause you'll learn something interesting that includes "Freya"
Thanks a lot for these reactions, can’t wait for Ragnarok❤️
Finally, Happy Ragnarök everybody
You guys NEED to do ragnorck!!🔥🔥🔥
We're doing it now. I just need time to edit these videos.
@@TNTGamingonlineI can’t wait 🔥❤️🔥🔥
@@TNTGamingonlinethe best thing I’ve heard today!
Mimir talking about being a Goodfellow was a wink and a nod at the fact that he used to be Robin Goodfellow, better known as Robin Hood, who legend states was a form of fey hobgoblin.
They were not asleep for years. It was a dream prophecy that atrius was having.
Also, if you go back and listen to what Boulder said Just before he dies, he says snow.
Can't wait for the next one!!! It sucks that someone spoiled that thor detail for you guys, but the good thing is that thats just a VERY minor spoiler. Some norse god experts say that thor was often depicted as being heavyset anyways, and there was also a detail earlier in the game that most actually don't pick up on. When they went to call the serpent and he woke up and ate the statue of Thor, Mimir calls him a "fat" dobber. So technically its not a spoiler. Just be wary of potential spoilers for the next game tho cause its some major stuff that goes down.
I was so excited for you guys to experience these last few events of GOW 2018. And I loved your reactions to the reveal of Atreus' name because that was exactly how I reacted when I reached this part of the game. I can't wait for you guys to experience Ragnarok as the story telling continues to be amazing. There are some really powerful scenes in this next game.
Hey TNT. One: Congratulations on learning the story of God of War. I have been a fan of the series since the beginning and played every game including the 2018 title and currently Ragnarok. I love your guys' reactions to every pinnacle moment in the story and theories you would come up with before moving on the next chapter. The ending to 2018 GOW still gets me every time because it is more than just about the journey to fulfill a final wish; it was about Kratos learning what it is like to be human again and a father trying to connect with his son when he himself has not been fathered. It's a relatable story for any single parent with a dark past trying to do right by their children. That's what I wrote when I reviewed this game.
15:35 the reveal reaction
Y’all my favorite reaction channel next to Imdontai🙌🏽
finally we did it, ive already watched all gow even Ragnarok too, still here to watch with you guys , and i complete this again with you guys jst loved both of your reaction and looking forward for the next gow Ragnarok
Ready for the new journey 👏🏽👏🏽
I also love you guy’s reaction and how immersed she gets😭
Brings a new meaning to what boulder said in the beginning "I thought you'd be bigger" cus he was looking for a Giant. Lol
Now onto the god of war ragnarok lore
Tasha's Loki freakout at the end😂😂
Something you don'g get from watching just the more important dialogue bits: In the game there are yellow markings on stuff you can climb, indicating the way. Those markings were made by Faye. Wich means she did the entire journey on her own before hand to mark the way for Kratos and Atreus.
Also a few mithology informations you might not know:
In norse Mythology, Freya made everything in existence swear to never harm Baldur, those making him imortal. But she skiped the misletoe, for it's harmless and could never harm anyone. It's said that the first sign of Ranarök would be Baldur's death, wich could never happen... Until Loki did what Loki does. The gods were all drunk and shooting arrows against Baldur for the fun of it, because he could not die. So the trickster manipulated Hodir, a blind god, into shooting an arrow with a missletoe tied to it against Baldur, killing him. In the game it's the missletoes arrows that the dwarf gave Loki that was used to broke the spell and kill Baldur.
Another sign of Ranarök is finbulwinter, a long winter that would arrive before the end of times. The third sign is when the wolves Freki And Geri finally catch the sun and moon, devoring them.
Loki is the son of Fárbauti and Laufey. Fárbauti was a giant, and the name means "fire". While Laufey is sometimes describe as being a goddess and others as a giant as well, and her name means "leaves". In the game Laufey became Faye, while Fárbauti is the jotnar name for Kratos.
Freki and Geri are Odin's two wolves. The wolves that chase the sun and moon are Skol and Hati. 👍👍
@@Lord_Raptor Sorry, my bad. I knew that.
@@OrdemDoGraveto
No worries. Easy mistake. There's a lot of wolves in norse mythology haha
This was such a great journey now I’m ready to play Ragnarok
I'm afraid this is my stop TNT. I'm a PC gamer so I have never had the chance to play Ragnarok unfortunately, hopefully, it becomes available for PC this September. But best believe when I do, I'll binge-watch all of your Ragnarok videos or perhaps even join you guys if you guys still happen to be on the series. It's been a really fun journey with you guys :) Oooh, I'll pass the time with your MK 1 videos lol. See you guys soon
14:55 in Norse mythology, that's how numerous giants came be. Their corpses turned into mountains
The Loki part is like a sucker punch that hit so hard that the next day u still don't know where it actually came from lol
Y'all face reactions to it are pretty funny 😂
1:42 I like how they start dropping hints early to Mimir's identity. A Goodfellow, who served a Faerie King? Interesting...
Yall r great to watch things with
Atreus graduated from "boy" to "son"... Kratos has matured in his fatherhood
can't wait to see your reaction to Ragnarok.
Even I already play this game like many times and still my reaction just as you guys😂.WELL DONE T&T! Cant wait for your first Ragnarok reaction!!❤️
I figured I would point out why thor showed up basically magni and modi are his children but aside from that baldur is thors brother who many considered to be impossible to kill so now that makes kratos and his son an immediate threat and of course like all the leaders of the mythologies do they send their destroyer to remedy the problem lol
There is a reason this won game of the year. After you finish Ragnarok you have to go back and watch them again, knowing what you know at the makes almost every conversation diffent.
Yea you guys definitely have to watch all Valkyrie fights n see how powerful they are and how they play into the next game
God of War: Ragnarok will be a lot crazier. I can't wait!
Ryan Hurst (Opie from Sons of Anarchy if you're a fan of the show) plays Thor in the second game.
Wow now that I didn't know..thanks💪🏿💯
Can’t wait for y’all to Watch Ragnarok
You two are going to LOVE the next game I Guarantee it
For prospective Baldur is the god of Light, so yes it will make sense with his death, the sun will be blocked out with a storm.
Good things for you guys you don't have to wait 5 years to see the next game
That wait had to be unbearable
@@TNTGamingonline it was but WELL worth it
Looking forward to ur reaction on ragnarock. Been following for a while and like ur open minds and fresh take. I remember when a saw the blades of chaos for the first time in the game and then the Loki reveal. I was shocked and got chills ad the same time for both.
Looking forward to the Ragnarok reactions man
Watching this journey with you was amazing. Don't know of you'be had or been recomended the " untangling god of war" video? It's a fascinating explanation on this series writing.
Love the reaction aches can't wait fir the next series: Ragnarok. And the reveal that Atreus is Loki blew everyone away. His mother is Laufey the giant but Kratos always calls her Fey. The next one is jus even more amazing
I had guesses it quite a while back, by paying atention to the dialogues...
For those who dont know: Loki was instrumental in the down fall of the aesir gods. Two of his three giant animal children kill thor and odin and he caused baldur to die. In mythology Baldurs mom Frigga (odins wife not freya) Heard the boys death would start the three year timer to ragnarok. So she demanded all plants and organisms to swear to not kill baldur. All except mistletoe but frigga figured it wouldn't kill her son. Baldur couldn't be killed but he could still feel cold and badic sensations except pain. Loki once heard of mistletoe being a weakness a d made an arrow with a mistletoe fortified tip then instructed a blind archer to go to the shooting range. Thor took a depressed baldur there tk cheer him up by having archers shoot arrows at him and try to knock him down and laugh at the defeat of the archers. The blind archer shot the special arrow in baldurs chest killing him starting the timer before ragnarok began. Odin later traveled to the realm of the dead and requested Baldur granted life and could return to asgard. The Ruler Hela, (Also one of lokis children who was also hiven the ruler title by odin) Refused abd demanded they left. Odin had to leave.
In this game the arrow tip struck Baldur in his fist which later caused his death giving more importance to this scene. (Im aware many know about this to some degree. This is only to educate those who dont know. Thats all here)
Love your reactions
Well glad its end of my journey with u guys too😢😢... I played this game all the kratos games and this game last year... but i decided to play one more time... but i saw u guys going through the journey of kratos.. so i was one of u guys and enjoyed from different view... But never played ragnarok... so i need to play that... I need to be a kratos for that game😊😊.. I play in PC... so it will take like 4 or 5 years... So adios guys... been great.. 😊😊😊
Thor ain't fat, he THICC
Cant wait for Ragnarok
Its beautiful how much kratos trusts faye...why did she lie about everything "your mother would have had good reasons" no hesitation lol
This is a masterpiece 👏 🙌 ✨️
LETS GOOOOOO RAGNAROK TIME BABY!!!!!
In Norse Mythology the Death of Baldr lead to Ragnarok. It was prophecy upon his birth. This was the reason why Freya places the spell on him. Baldr's invulnerability was such a joke/play thing for the Gods that they would shoot arrows at Baldr just for fun. But back on topic Baldr, his death shouldn't be like the Greek Gods in the sense that he controlled an element that now is running loose without him ( think of Poseidon and the waters of Greece in God of War 3) but because it was foretold that when he when he dies "of a needles death" the chain of events towards Ragnarok would begin.
What a series to watch!!! I highly suggest ghost of Tsushima behind god of war that is personally one of the best told stories in gaming 😊
I love seeing your reaction to finding out he's Loki. 😁
Now comes RAGNAROK!!
"Hmm......She got magic ashes" 😂😂😂
Just a heads up for ragnorok you guys are gonna cry many times for many reasons but its so good
Dont forget to watch the trailer for ragnarok guys.... that trailer was so damn hype you gotta experience it!
In Norse Myth, Baldur's death heralds the beginning of Ragnarok. Overall the game is pretty accurate though obviously some creative liberties were taken, like i don't think Freya is Frigg or is Baldur's mother in Norse Myth and Loki's Mother is Laufey and his Father is Farbauti. Though since we know very little (next to nothing) about Farbauti except that his name means something like 'dangerous striker', it's pretty perfect to slip Kratos into that role. After all he is a 'dangerous striker', Farbauti was probably just what the Jotunn called him, with Faye being a sort of pet name that Kratos called Laufey.
Notice how before spreading the ashes he puts his hand on his son's back but at first when he shot the deer he pulled his hand away?
Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'M READY FOR RAGNAROK!!! LEZGO FAM!❤
The Thor scene was a dream/vision that Atreus had, not real!
Ragnarok is waiting for you guys.
BE SURE TO WATCH THE SIDE QUEST ABOUT THE VALKERIES!!!!! THEY TIE INTO THE STORY WITH A MAJOR REVEAL THAT HELPS LEADS INTO THE NEXT GAME.
