The reason the Gods wanted the Marked Warrior was because an Oracle saw a vision of a marked warrior destroying Olympus. So they took Deimos because of his red birth mark, not knowing Kratos would tattoo the same mark on himself in the future, making him the real "marked warrior".
So kratos is the real marked warrior?

@@ElnathanGuzman-Topic In the Mythology, Chronos was cursed by Ouranos(His father). The curse was, what he did to him(overthrowing his own father and killing him) will happen to him in the future. That's why Chronos swallows his children but same thing happens again. Chronos loses, Zeus takes the charge and he is cursed by Chronos. One of Zeus' children would overthrow him in future. And that happens as well.
@@raspberrymuffin9997 Actually, in Greek Mythology Zeus was told that any son born of the Titan-Goddess Metis (Zeus' consort) would overthrow Zeus. So he swallowed Metis whole, later Zeus complained of a headache and Hephaestus used his axe to crack his head open and out came Athena. She was born a full adult with full armor and was just as wise as Zeus. She quickly became his favorite child after that.
*I have read also that Metis was pregnant with a boy & girl, but the boy died while inside Zeus' stomach. I think that's where Cory Barlog got his inspiration to create Kratos, the son that was never born. ;)

I actually got to meet the voice of Ares *Steve Blum aka Orochimaru from Naruto* at my very first con a few years ago. He signed my copy of God of War 1, super nice guy he let my dad join in the picture.
And there are people who say that the old god of war games didn't have a deep story.
Gow always had a great story full of meaning
well most of them are kids who grew up with God Of War 4... i hear many people say GTA 5 is the best... when for me GTA san andreas remains not touched by his enourmous story and in depth attachment to CJ

it was probably a self fulfilling prophecy, no matter what the gods do, the marked warrior will always destroy olympus, whether by kratos or deimos

His family wasn’t worshiping athena ares teleported them to that temple knowing he was gone slaughter without caution

The Kratos in God of War have trying to control his anger and rage, on the old series he is a manifestations of anger rage vengence and sadness. What we call a monster.
Seeing you guys act with awe when seeing kratos backstory was so heart warming reminded me when I was a kid and I saw my dad playing the game. Y'all need me to explain anything I'm here

Its not a mystry they said he got dragged there by 3 big wolves thats why when kratos saw the Silver Gold wolf at tir's vault he kinda looks at them strangly and then he shockingly stares at them both when boy told him about their names

did kratos went to norway or some alternate Norse mythology reality ,the sun god was killed in greece(ie.the sun itself is destroyed) and in gow 4 there is no problem with sun because there is day and night, how can there be two suns in earth if kratos moved to norway.

Ares put his wife and child on the temple and then told kratos to kill everything on that temple
He was born a demigod. He became av god after the first game
Kratos own will and his soul was gone when he pledged himself to Ares. He was a slave and could not deny Ares orders. Its when he killed his own family he snapped and then turned against Ares but as a result he got punished and sent into imprisonment, Ares and the furies removed memories of his past, like killing his own family so they could try to turn him to Ares will again but ofcourse this time he would not falter and resisted.
Also the marked warrior is a prophecy when the oracle spoke to zeus that not by the hands of the titans Will olympus fall but a mortal would rise in power to do it.
The marker warrior who they think is Kratos brother Deimos.
quite in depth... i see Kratos as a victim and hero in the same time.. but in reality Gods are the true victims of their own selfishness...

Truly a tragic story of a character and it Will only get more sad. I guess this is not much of spoiler since he is alive.
But kratos does try to kill himself alot cuz of the pain and torture he experience from killing his family.
But he would always come back to life or get hindered from killing himself, so he has to live with the thought and nightmares through his entire life cuz as he is a god he can’t die from age.
I won’t say why he always comes back or can’t kill himself but it Will get little explained later in games.
Fun fact... Kratos in the new God Of War, Kratos is at least 200 years old. So old that he doesn't remember.

Kratos was not afraid of death but was afraid of defeat ,victory is what he deemed to be even more important to him than his soul,he wanted to spread the glory of Sparta and wanted it to known as the city who had undefeated army with kratos himself as his General
That's it,he would have embraced death if he had got victory instead of it simple,
Also his wife would've never wanted him to stop going to war. Spartan citizens were essentially brain washed into wanting military might above all else. If a Spartan was of fighting age and health and didn't go to war his own family would've shamed him
Whatever the oracle said that Olympus will be destroyed by the "Marked Warrior", the Gods of Olympus deserved what's coming to them and you will know the reason why sooner than you think in the future videos about Kratos.

33:30, even if the Furies were not the big 12 gods, they were very high up in god society, their death would mean no more punishment for broken oaths, and no law enforcement in Hell (erebos)
Fury's were beings that were as old as the Titans they were oath keepers that anytime someone made a deal a God or Titan and broke that oath would be hunted down and be punished for all time by the Fury's but they weren't always like that before Ares they were fair, harsh but fair now cause of Ares they even forsake their own sworn duty

It is true he is not the kratos new comers know.
His family wasn't worshipping Athena. Ares put them in there to be killed by Kratos. He thought Kratos's love for his family was stopping him from becoming the perfect warrior.
The story of God Of War has always been good. This is why I was super happy when we found out the story in the God Of War 4 was a continuation and not a reboot.
And now you understand the full weight of when Kratos puts on the Blades Of Chaos. He murdered his 1st Wife and Daughter with them.
I checked the video your watching, it only shows the crucial bits of Kratos's past and history but doesn't show the best parts and the all the blood he spilled, cause there's alot being left out. Sadly watching all the games full Playthroughs might take too long, but the video your watching is a good way to get the base grasp of Kratos even if it leaves out the fact that Kratos climbed a tower that was carried on the back of the Titan Cronos and that Kratos is the reason Atlantis disappeared

I wouldn’t say Kratos was afraid of death so much as him seeing a way out of it and therefore he took it, as an opportunist.

I would like to explain a few things you seem to not understand (since it wasn't explaind)
The prison furies took Kratos to: It's actually hecatonchires a giant STILL living being, with hundreds of arms. Known as the first oath breaker, he was punished by furies and turned into a literal prison (basicly flesh torn out and replaced by concrete or something). at the final battle with Megaera (the tentacle fury) he was infected with her bugs and turned into ugly monster 28:02.
Dublicate kratos: is a magic artifact granted by Orcos in the game (Oath Stone of Orkos), let's you create shadow copy of kratos that can also fight for you.

Ares and Furies weren't married. They hooked up to give birth to an ultimate warrior. When that didnt work out, Ares set his eyes towards Kratos. If i am not mistaken most of these footage's are from God of War 1, Ghost of Sparta (PSP Game), and God of War: Ascension. Cant wait for you guys to react for Part 2. you guys are missing so many pieces, and they will all come together hopefully in part 2. More importantly, you will learn, Why and what Kratos had to do. God of War 4 is a great game, but previous GOW games had lot more depth and story. Thats just my opinion.

Thus "Kratos" means "rule" to the Ancient Greeks. And Kratos does indeed "rule" at times during his tumultuous existence.

How ironic, that by taking deimos, they made the prophecy come true.
the video explains major plot cinematics but many things like the universe lore and habilities are not entirely explained here, you could see gameplays or play them on your own if you wish
Thanatos is the actual God Of Death (his equivalent in Christianity would be Azrael). Hades is King of the Underworld. Thanatos collects the souls of the dead, then sends them to Charon, who ferries them to Hades.
Kratos was doing the work of ares his family was left in Sparta but some how they got into the temple of Athena. But Kratos knew exactly what he was doing but didn’t know his family was in the temple.
Ares teleports them their you find out in the later installments and books

Aries knew that the lady with the eyes had the prophecy about a boy bearing a mark would be the one to be their downfall or something, so they went after his brother who had the crazy birthmark... but they figured out they were wrong about which brother and that's when aries manipulated him into the bond? I'm not completely sure I'm right about that.
