I love how you end the videos with "go put your puzzle together" because I do, in fact, have a 3000 piece puzzle half finished at my desk waiting for me to stop procrastinating 😅 it's inspiring
@juliaalano1481 Hi and thanks, Paul Suchecki is a guy on CZcams who posts his bicycle riding adventures and at the end he always says "go ride your bike" and it makes me want to go ride my bike, so I kinda borrowed it from him and changed it a little. 3000 pieces is a big puzzle, I can understand needing a break sometimes.
Well done! Thank you for the monthly updates with your strategies and progress. Really enjoying this build! ❤
@LadyMystie Hi again and thanks, I'm learning as I go, it is a lot of fun.
What a project! So fun that you are getting help from your whole family. Keep it up. Look forward to your updates each month. My guess for completion would be May 31st 2024.
@justmister7892 Thanks for watching and I'll put your guess in the book.
Wow. Awesome how far you’ve come. Can’t wait to see the next update. The TV is a good addition. Happy puzzling.
@tinkerbellarocks Hi, thanks, the last 6 months have gone by fast. Thanks for watching.
You have inspired me to take a couple of very large puzzles and mix up the bags into one (or three) parts. I have a new york city skyline puzzle at 32k that was a gift to me. It was in 4 large bags (quadrants), and I'm sorting those out by border, skyline, buildings, window frames. My World's largest at 60k, I started doing by the 1000 piece bags, but after three bags, I decided 1K at a time was too easy, so I'm dividing things up into border, all land, and all ocean for the other 57K. I blame you if I end up in the crazy house, hahaha. Seriously, I love watching your progress! Keep it up!
Would you consider putting updates on CZcams? Would love to follow the progress.
@@erickennel9428 oh my. I have no clue how to do video, but maybe I can convince hubby to help. I suppose regular updates would force me to get my puzzle done, yes?
@candyk9471 Hi and thanks, That sounds great!!!! By the time we get our puzzles done we may be sharing a room in the crazy house. I really like the NYC skyline puzzle and thought about getting that one but then decided to get the around the world 42k puzzle instead. Russell from @puzzlingin2worlds is on the 4th bag of the NYC skyline puzzle. I would love to see your progress. If you can put monthly or 3 month updates on CZcams that would be amazing to see. I would love to see people mix the bags and watch their progress and thought process on how to do it. My videos are as basic as it gets, just a cell phone for a camera and the free Microsoft windows 10 video editor. I started by just using the CZcams editor but the Microsoft editor lets you join two or more video clips together. With the CZcams editor I always had to do the video in one take and then could trim off the ends or delete parts out of the middle. if you have any questions about that let me know, I'm a beginner at this too, but I'll be glad to answer anything I can. Please keep me updated on your progress. john
Great idea with tv - very detailed. Alot of progress for mixing all your bags together rather than sections of 6000 pcs.
GOOD JOB ALL❤🎉
@jeancarroccino8574 Thanks, and thanks for watching.
Thank you so much for the monthly updates. I love seeing all your progress. Keep it up!
@susannelson5441 thanks for watching
Oh. My. Goodness!!! This is so exciting. You and your family are making astonishing progress. Can't wait to hear how helpful the monitor will be throughout the process.
@tinag4262 Hi and thanks for watching, we are using the monitor more and more. It helps for the really small stuff.
Cheers from Helsinki :) There is much more attitude to mix all pieces :D Mega respect :D T: Markus :D
@Marksu-hn6ec Hi thanks for watching, and greetings from Pennsylvania
Thanks again for these updates. My guess would be January 2025. I'll be watching however long it takes. Great progress!!
@janspearman9310 Hi again and thanks so much for watching, I'll write you down in the book.
I truly admire your perseverance! Awesome
@inge6280 Thank you and thanks for watching
much luck to you king
@sabihak9730 Thanks and thanks for watching.
You all are doing a great job! I’m going to pick Feb 14, 2024 ❤
@michellepiazza7698 Thanks, I'll put you in the book
Hi-Tech is entering your puzzling attic. :-) The monitor is surely a good idea and will often be of great value!
You are making good progress on the sky - obviously this will take its time. Every piece counts...
@LogicMasterSteve Thanks, you said before that the sky alone could take 6 months, and you could be pretty close, I have spent 2 months on it so far.
Hi John, the puzzle is looking great. My guess will be 3rd July 2024. More reason for a huge celebration on the 4th. 😊
@louisescheider7151 Hi and thanks, I will put you in the book.
My prediction is one full year to the day, the last piece on the anniversary will be placed by "Mom". I think the sorting took the longest, which is done. How many other family members, friends and neighbours are coming in for tours? I started watching this, as I wanted to buy this upon my retirement and do it myself....now I'm rethinking it. that a biggggg puzzle. keep inspiring.
@wowzieee I'll put you in the book. The sorting did take a long time and the sky seems to be a slow process as well. We had a small family reunion on Memorial day and a lot of them looked at the puzzle but no real puzzling was done. Some friends also have wanted to see it. If you find yourself in Pennsylvania let me know. One fiend does come over and work on it sometimes and I am waiting to get more people on film to post them on a future video. I remembered you saying you were thinking of this when you retire and I said retirement is the best time to do it. The pieces fit loose (apparently all Educa's do) but the colors are bright and the image was my favorite of all the big puzzles. It is big, but there is the option of doing it in sections, or at least starting on one section and see how it goes, if that is easy then mix a couple sections or all of them together. I don't think you will regret getting it and working on it, if you do get stuck you can always have people help with it, that is a lot of fun too. Or find a local puzzle club, if you tell them you need help with a 42,000 piece puzzle they probably won't believe you at first, but I doubt if they'll turn down a chance to help work on it.
Enjoy. I think you take two years for this puzzel. The sky looks so good already and the big image will help for sure.
@emilwandel Thanks, I'll put you in the book. It feels like I have so much sky to go.
I guess December 6th 2023. I have faith in you and your family. Also it’s a great puzzle.
@rosa733 Hi and thanks, I'll put your guess in the book, It won't show on the September 1st video because I had to make that video this afternoon, I explain why on the September 1st video, but I just wrote you in so you are in there. You'll see your name and guess in the next video (October).
You are great. I really wish You luck.
@persocom4988 Thanks so much and thanks for watching.
God progress, keep going!!
@josueruizsaavedra3803 Thank you and thanks for watching.
I love that you’ve mixed up all the bags! At the 7:59 time stamp if you look in the lower right area, it looks like there are some pieces put together but of significantly different shades of blue. Perfect false fits?
@nancysturm9162 Hi, yes, according to Donnalouise and others, there is a repeating pattern and there should be 42 exact same pieces in the puzzle. with a few different around the boarder and on the edges of the sections. I'm not far along enough to tell for sure yet. but yes there are some in the wrong spots, but I know where they are so I left them in so I'll know where to find them when I need them.
Holy crap dude nice job 👍
@SaturnSenshi3105 Thanks and thanks for watching.
Great job.
@izam9063 Thanks for watching.
Another amazing video and wonderful progress over last month. My guess is 5,500 hrs and summer of 2025!
@erickennel9428 thanks for the compliments and I'll put you in the book
The TV is such a good idea!
@palatina6626 Thanks, and thanks for watching.
Awesome! My guess is September 2024
@AReshetova Thanks, I'll put you down in the book
The pieces with four prongs all go in the first section at the right hand seam.
@timgomolka644 Thanks, I will keep an eye out for them
Daunting project. Hard to guess a finish time because as more and more of the puzzle is completed, it will go faster and faster.
@marglarsen7101 Hi, I thought that too but then I thought that we did stuff that looked easy first, so it might get harder as we go. As we go we'll find out which way was right
Really nice to see this, keep on going :) Happy July 4th from Helsinki, Finland!
Does the sky really break like that? I mean, for example, at 19:20, from bottom (well, in video) eighth piece, fifth to the left from the vertical break between pads, that standard piece looks really white compared to the ones below or on left of that.
@artokilponen6989 Hi and thanks, there are some clouds that cause a sudden change of color, but it is more likely that I have a piece or two (or more) in the wrong place. Once I get a big section together I'll go through and switch them around. It's easier for me to see wrong pieces if I stand back and look at it.
@@puzzlemethis. I just realized that it makes it both easier and harder that if the puzzle has similar cut that is repeated seven times, you basically always have seven pieces that you can put to pretty much any slot in the puzzle. Obviously a lot of times the color will not make any sense, but still, instead of hunting one piece, you sometimes can look for any of the up to seven pieces.
That also makes it slightly harder, because of that piece can be "almost right color", although then with finished puzzle you know exactly what the other six options for the given slot are, and you can play around with those options to find the optimal slot order for all seven pieces.
I know you at least partly mentioned it in earlier videos too, but was it so that there's even more than seven repeats? I know many times 6000 piece puzzle already repeats twice, so is the repeat there 7x2=14 times? That is, does (almost) any given piece fit perfectly to 14 slots of the entire 42 000? Obviously the corner pieces are exceptions.
Anyway, I'm really impressed that you are able to build this. For the guess, I'll say this will be finished April 28th 2024.
@@artokilponen6989 Hi, according to Donnalouise and some others, there are 3 repeats vertically and 2 per section ( 14 total ) going horizontal. So that should be 42 repeating blocks in the whole puzzle. A square of 27 pieces down (27 x 3 =81)and 37 pieces across (2 per section) (37 x 14 =518). There are 7 sections so each section sould have 6 of the same piece. I have noticed at the joint and at the center of each horizonal section there are wider pieces and these pieces aren't always the same as the pattern should be. Someone commented that the 4 out piece that I showed in the video goes at the joint of the first and second sections. The only big part of the puzzle I have done is the sky in the upper right, As I work my way across I will compare that to the next sections and see if it does repeat. I hope that all made sense. I'll put your guess in the book.
O my, first off, good luck. My guess would be February 20, 2025. Question where did you order this from
@bethpalmer2720 thanks, I'll put you in the book. I have a link in the description where I bought it, It was $302 with shipping for me.
i have no idea what to guess. it all comes down to good sorting. this will be at least part 30 i think. 6th of april 2024. on my birthday :)
when i spot a false fit on the sky :O im thinking if you saw it too
@katrinboas Hi again, yes there are a lot of pieces in the sky in the wrong place. I can notice them better when I get a bigger area done and then I can move them around. Usually I'm just happy that a piece fit in the sky, even if the color doesn't match. I'll write your guess down in the book.
My Guess is 1 1/2 year
@legolas8722 Thanks, I'll put you in the book
How many hours you work on this each day? 7,5 h/day.
@jedagelijksebraintrainingw6347 Hi, Including everyone's time it averages out to around 7.8 hours per day.
My guess will be June 15th 2024. 🎉
@jeancarroccino8574 I'll put you in the book
17 december 2024
@karstenfick2702 Thanks I'll put you in the book.
Middle of September 2024
@tainaravenanciodesouza4149 Hi again, thanks for the guess, I'll put you in the book.
Prediction: Bit optimistic, but I’m going March 14th 2024 ;)
@HarryJSmith Thanks, I'll put you in the book
Anyone else bothered by the peices that are obviously wrong with false fits? Like when he zoomed in on the darker blue of the sky and there ks a white piece there (16:35). My OCD wants to take them out ssooo bad lol.
@SChicago89 Hi, they bother Mom also, she keeps wanting to rearrange them. I tell her when I get more put in then we'll move them around.
@@puzzlemethis. that makes sense! Otherwise you will spend all day rearranging! This is so awesome you guys are doing this!
