    MORE ABOUT DOCTOR WHO:
Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme produced by the BBC since November 23rd, 1963. The programme depicts the adventures of a Time Lord called "The Doctor", an extraterrestrial being, appearing to be human. The Doctor explores the universe in a time-travelling space ship called the TARDIS. Its exterior appears as a blue British metropolitan police box, which was a common sight in Britain in the 1960’s when the series first aired. Accompanied by a number of companions, the Doctor combats a variety of foes like the Daleks and Cybermen while working to save civilisations and save people in need.
Beginning with William Hartnell, over fifteen actors have headlined the series as the Doctor. The transition from one actor to another is written into the plot of the show with the concept of regeneration into a new incarnation and body, a plot device in which a Timelord "transforms" into a new body when the current one is too badly harmed to heal normally.
Ncuti Gatwa had previously been announced as Jodie Whittaker's successor after David Tennant reprises his role as the doctor in the 60th anniversary specials as the programme's lead, and many reports stated he would play the Fourteenth Doctor and that Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor would regenerate into an incarnation portrayed by Gatwa. Upon Jodie Whittaker's final appearance as the character in The Power Of The Doctor, she instead regenerated into a form similar to the Tenth Doctor. This character, portrayed by Tennant, was confirmed to be the Fourteenth Doctor, with later clarification that Ncuti Gatwa would actually portray the Fifteenth Doctor. Ncuti Gatwa’s 15th doctor has also had his companion announced as Millie Gibson playing Ruby Sunday live on Children In Need.
On 24 September 2021, the BBC announced Russell T Davies would return to Doctor Who as showrunner, after having previously acted as showrunner from 2005-2010 for the Ninth and Tenth Doctors. He will succeed Chibnall for the show's 60th anniversary in 2023 and beyond. Davies will be joined by the Bad Wolf production company, which was founded by former Doctor Who executive producer Julie Gardner and former BBC head of drama Jane Tranter. In October 2021, it was announced that Sony would acquire a majority of Bad Wolf. Bad Wolf also took over creative control of Doctor Who beginning with the specials, allowing the BBC to focus on establishing Doctor Who as a global brand. The new era of Doctor Who is being labelled as RTD2 as it is Russel’s second era of Doctor Who.

The ending where it's revealed the entire FineTime society is made up of Bowelstrek subscribers was incredible!

I like that 15’s first time experiencing racism isn’t in a historical episode, but in a futuristic setting. It strongly counters the idea that this kind of prejudice is just a thing of the past.

  • @sparklepunkenthusiast

this one holds up on a rewatch quite a bit since there’s a lot of foreshadowing about the twist throughout the episode, like the Doctor getting immediately blocked and not Ruby, Lindy going “he’s not as stupid as he looks”, her being disgusted at him and Ruby being in the same room, etc.

The social commentary is so so much better then chibnall, so much more daring with way more to say

  • @DiamondFire

They didn't spend their whole life learning to walk, homeworld used the Dots as well, the mother says it and the slugs invaded there which means they gotta be there

Finally, an episode that I actually enjoyed over it's preview. This episode was great. Maybe not on the level as last week but still a great episode.

  • @littleredruri

I really hope it becomes a trend for streaming shows to put season finales in theatres. I desperately want cinemas to thrive

  • @dogblessamerica

They never learned their lesson, they never had an opportunity to grow, we just left them in the knowledge that they were going to die one by one: but not even really caring about that fact because they weren't exactly sympathetic characters! Left me feeling unresolved frustration... If that was RTD's aim, then mission accomplished.

"How am I supposed to root for this character"

  • @georgeealien

It says a lot that Lindy loved Ricky September but didn't like The Doctor, despite Ricky sharing a lot of the same qualities as him. The only thing separating them was the colour of their skin.

There were soooo many overt and subtle signs of racism scattered throughout the episode:

  • @soundgal_sine_qua_non

This is a crucial episode for the Doctor. This is the day he realizes the white privilege he's had for thousands of years is gone. No more punching racists. There are going to be some people that won't let him save them. I love that this happens in a futuristic episode and not a historical one. Ruby connects the dots earlier than the Doctor does, which is perfect since she grew up as the white child of a black parent. She would have witnessed microaggressions and racism towards her family and would have had to exercise her white privilege on behalf of her family.

  • @owena7236

Another example of the microaggressions: Lindy not realising the Doctor is who she blocked earlier because "I thought you just looked the same"

  • @MarcosSantos-dj6lk

the first thing a lot of people didn't noticed she block only the beginning Ruby she trust fast. She said in the middle to Doctor: ''you all look the same'' this was making me more uncomfortable already, as a black person, by the ending scene was all confirmed

  • @number1humancentipedefan

I truely believe that was Ncuti’s “I am the Doctor” moment there. No big speeches, just the pure rage and laughter at the stupidity of the Finetimers.

  • @cfsfilms5091

I really like the way this episode hides what it's really doing behind a much more obvious and played out "Kids these days need to look up from their phones" message. I thought I knew what the commentary was so I wasn't paying attention to the microaggressions until the "voodoo" comment. It's blindingly obvious on a second viewing but wow, so well done.

I loved it 😍 absolutely brilliant

I liked it, it was very thought provoking
