      I was 12 years old when Elvis died I still remember I did not learn of his passing until the next morning at breakfast my Mother told my brothers and I. I still remember I quickly left the table as though I needed to use the bathroom and went into the bathroom to cry. I never knew anyone that died. Had never lost a family member or anyone I knew. Elvis and Evel were my hero’s.

    I miss Elvis i wish he is still here today with us even though he is old. But he was destined to die young and only God knows why. Nobody can equal his overall personality and talent. He is the King of Music of all time with godly looks, religious traits, utmost kindness, incredible generosity, and a golden voice that mezmerized all of us his fans. Rest in peace out dear Elvis. We love you and will never forget you. I think 2022 will give you another glorious triumph here on Earth. Great interview, except, Elvis Presley certainly did associate with Black kids since he lived in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. And he attended a mixed-race church in his childhood years which exposed him to ethnic rhythms. Moreover, later in life, his teenage years and early adulthood he hung out on Beal street at a few Negro clubs, alone. He was exploring musically. He loved the music (and the environment) and picked up a great deal… On CZcams there’s a recording of Elvis Presley in his early years practicing in the recording studio with his band and he’s sharing with them his experience when he attended a Negro club in Memphis (and they were all on Beal street) and he was blown away (highly impressed) by a Negro singer and musician. Elvis expresses that the performer sang the hell out of a song that he wants to perform… Elvis was totally enthralled. He was so very intrigued and excited about what he had experienced. There’s another night club experience that a Black performer talks about on CZcams. He says that Elvis would come to the club where he would often perform and enjoy the show. And one night his band asked if others would like to join in the fun, and so, other singers and/or musicians would come on stage and join in a song or two. So one evening Elvis joined in. He sang a R&B song and played the guitar. He blew them away! And accidentally broke the guitar strings on the guitar that one of the band member let him borrow. The interviewee said that he saw that EP had an unyielding determination to succeed. In my opinion, I believe that Elvis probably felt that if he could win over a Black audience and garner their attention then he certainly had the right stuff. So there was a time when EP would attend Black night clubs. So he was ‘inspired’ and there’s nothing wrong about that. There are also interviews with his Black Pastor from back in the day that talks about how Elvis was as a child. He says that Elvis and his Mother would come to church frequently. And states that Elvis associated with all the kids his age including the Black kids. He set with his Black friends often at church even though those were the days of segregation… The Pastor recalls how respectful Elvis was with everyone due to his good upbringing. He sang in the choir and was a playful kid. He was a good natured person. So, yes, Elvis certainly interacted with Black people and it showed in his style across the board generally speaking. Elvis Presley talks candidly about his musical influences and how he developed as an artist, his personal style and image. Elvis enjoyed shopping at Lansky’s clothing store. Lansky’s was where all the Black male entertainers (and men with a great sense of personal style) purchased their clothes.

      Thank-you for sharing this information....
      People who did not experience the 50s in the South cannot unbranded that although there was Forced Segregation, in hundreds of levels blacks and whites interacted, intermarried and got along extremely well.
      The retelling of the 50s in the South is often greatly exaggerated.... with hate being elevated when it really did not exist.

      Elvis single handedly dismantled the segregation culture of the United States at that time. It’s just like like now, it’s made a social thing by the news media and there were breakouts of racial violence at that time because ppl used that as a scapegoat for social and political problems, but the majority of the time when you went out on the street at a ground level, and went into the community around people, the issue wasn’t to be found

    That was Elvis always wanted clothes no one else had. I loved that Mr Lansky wouldn’t make the same clothes for anyone else. That’s a professional man. Mr Lansky was the one who decided that since Elvis didn’t like his neck that he turned his collar up. I thought he would tell the story I heard him tell someone else about turning Elvis collar up. But he didn’t. I heard him tell someone one day about how Elvis was irritated about his me I being long. His daddy told Elvis one time his neck was too long and called him chicken neck or something like that. Mr Lansky told that.

    Sonny West and some of the Memphis Mafia guys were talking about the roller derby football games they would play, and said Elvis broke his pinky finger one night playing, which ended the game. Elvis went to the doctor and he took care of him like always, set his finger and gave him some pain killers. Red West said, when they would rent out the Fair at night, and ride the bumper cars, they would hit head on with each other, causing sparks to fly ever were. He said when they would get done riding them, everyone would have they electrical soot, from the sparks all over their faces and cloths, saying it was a Blast !

    His mother told him she didn’t like him flying either. Some big stars got killed. I don’t remember who it was. But it frightened Gladys. So he was worried about it too. I think it was GK who told that story. May have been Lamar Fike. He sent Joe Espinito, I can’t spell, sorry, to buy the airplane. Frank Sinatra had loaned Elvis his own plane several times. So he finally decided his own plane.
    About him riding the motorcycle, Linda Thompson told a story about them riding his motorcycle one night. They were on the street late at night, Linda suddenly said to Elvis your in your PJs on EP blvd on a motorcycle. Elvis said we’ll the street is named after me and it’s my motorcycle and your not totally dressed either. No one will care. It’s 2 in the morning. So they ride a while longer then went back to make fried peanut butter and bananas sandwiches. Lol The next day there was a pic of him and linda in their PJs on the motorcycle on EP BLVD. Someone brought him the paper. He said Linda did you see who took this picture? Lol she said no. They had helmets on so you can’t see around you well. The headline said, Elvis and his lady riding in the middle of the night in their night clothes. He said well, at least it accurate. Lol

He was probably one of the only ones to ever tell Elvis that wasn’t right on the key Elvis, do you want to do it over? Mike I'm an Elvis fan too, but my only question for ALL his fans. Why are all Elvis fans intent on proving he is still alive? Elvis always pleased his fans and to my knowledge never disappointed them. He gave all he had into his concerts and movies, why don't they remember him as they want to, and IF he is still alive, let him live out his life in peace. I know there is a lot of evidence out there saying that he is still alive, but what is the whole point of proving he is alive.

    • @katgirlblue
      @katgirlblue Před 5 lety +1

      I can't imagine what you're referring to! What on earth do you mean, " Why are all Elvis fans intent on proving he is still alive? " Elvis fans know that he died on August 16, 1977. There are some crazies out there with nothing better to do than to make up ridiculous stories, but they are not fans. Anyone who knows about Elvis knows that in the later years, especially the last year, he was very sick, with multiple health problems besides the addiction to prescription drugs, which was way out of control. He was in and out of the hospital and had breathing problems as well. When he died he had enlarged organs, including his heart and colon, and it wouldn't have been possible to live much longer with all those conditions. Anyone who thinks he's alive doesn't know anything about Elvis' life, and is therefore not a fan.

    • @NancyJSimpson
      @NancyJSimpson Před 4 lety

      @@katgirlblue That's not really true. There are many Elvis fans who think he hoaxed his death. He wrote the note that Wayne Newton bought and made a song into where Elvis says he "..can't go on. Help me Lord." He told his cousin Billy Smith that maybe he could "find a double" and get him to have plastic surgery to look like Elvis. Priscilla was doing a number on him, according to Sheila Ryan, when they went to pick up Lisa Marie Priscilla mocked what he was wearing. She rolled her eyes at him. She emotionally eviscerated him as a man. However, he could not replace her.
      Linda Thompson was annoying, Sheila Ryan did not want to be his "nurse", and Ginger was just not that into him. His Memphis Mafia was getting on with their lives and families. Many were now living in California.
      And that book. The book by Red and Sonny West devastated him. He could not face what they had written. And, the book was about to be published.
      He was weary, sick, overweight, depressed. He had financial woes.
      He knew Col. Parker had ripped him off for years and he was sick of it.
      It is not out of reason to think he would want to exit on a high note. Always be remembered as the young, beautiful Kind of Rock and Roll.
      Many many people said that the body in the coffin did not look like Elvis. Many said it was "sweating" on a hot day like wax would do. It was reported there was a small air unit in the coffin.
      Priscilla has said twice on taped interviews "Elvis thinks" or "Elvis said" when talking about current events. A slip-up.
      There is a photo of Elvis with Mohamed Ali taken after Elvis had "died".
      It is not out of the question to think Elvis was simply a prisoner of his life. He lived in his darkened bedroom and seldom left it. He could barely get through a concert at the very end he was so impaired from drugs.
      And, his image. Letting the King of Rock and Roll live on forever is a real consideration. And, that is exactly what happened. Elvis did not grow old and fade into oblivion. He stayed young. He stayed the King of Rock and Roll. Graceland and EPE make hundreds of millions a year.
      I don't know if he faked his death or not. However, it is certainly within the realm of possibility.

    • @katgirlblue
      @katgirlblue Před 4 lety +1

      @@NancyJSimpson no, it is not anywhere near the realm of possibility. It's beyond ridiculous. Elvis never said any such thing to Billy. So Priscilla rolled her eyes? Well then it makes sense that Elvis would decide to fake his death! It's so stupid it's unbelievable. What you say makes no sense. If you would know the facts of the events that happened on August 16th 1977 you would know that "faking" death is impossible.
      It would involve hundreds of people, including all the EMTs, all the doctors in emergency, Dr. Nick, all the MM still there, and never seeing Lisa again. It's ridiculous. Thousands of people saw his body, and only 2 delusional people CLAIMED it was sweating. Stupid conspiracy theories always start the minute someone dies, all the way back through history. Some people refuse to see the truth. They're always looking for people who lied to them. It's a real sickness. If you would know the condition of Elvis' health when he died, you would know that he couldn't have lasted much longer. Some people claim that Elvis was only partly human, do you believe those crazies too?

    Love these trivia videos. Elvis first home in Memphis on Audubon Dr. has had a fire. It was electoral from a living room outlet. Hope the wall that Elvis signed when he lived there was not destroyed. Hope the home can be repaired. Just tragic. Anyone know anything else ? Love George Kline (sp ? ).

    Everybody telling you your great, fantastic, incredible, fabulous, for years and years and years no matter WHAT you do everybody is willing to give you a pass! EVERYBODY!! Dam it’s a wonder Elvis lasted as long as he did. He didn’t know how to say no everybody wanted something from him living in mansions LA, Palm Springs, Beverly Hills, Trousdale, Rocca tons and TONS of hot woman ALL ages partying all night EVERYNIGHT for years and years decade after decade it caught up to him. The cat was out of the bag! He became human! Yes human! Far too many drugs far too addicted in history! The rest of the time nobody shined as bright and burned so dam hot!

    Elvis should have owned a big Yacht during his years in California or even on one of the big lakes in the South. Best way to have an “island” of his own to get away on. I know he loved driving big machinery and a yacht could have housed all of his close group of friends too.

      Excellent idea ! 🛳
      Didn't turn out very good for the Wagners but I bet Elvis and the MM would've had a blast.

    You're forgetting (I think is on purpose, envy) the most important LEGACY ABOUT ELVIS, the ONLY icon in the world (forever and ever) is his music, his voice, of course, but, don't forget that NOBODY FORGET AND IS HIS REAL LEGACY: HIS GENEROSITY WITHOUT ANNOUNCING TO THE WORLD (like that impostors nowadays). The money to the foundations, the money to churches, hospitals, charities, March of dimes, the vaccine against polio he received on TV because, at that time, nobody wanted to take it, 1959; I just can't believe it because, at that time, in my country, many years ago we had eradicated polio. So, until today, no one important and rich figure did this not even very far from the total Elvis gave and helped many, many people.

    I felt bad when I found that he had to support his folks. He was angry at his dad for not being able to work and now I know his many struggles to keep his mom happy and alive. Was it up to him to struggle to do for the He built his mom a beautiful home. What made him wamt to do that? Some wpuld say he was a mama s boy. Is this what he was doing after her death was to replace her with gals to emulate his mom s love for him? He did so in keeping her spirit alive. He couldn t understand why God rltook the only love of his life away from him. RIP Elvis.

      I will attempt to answer my own question. -since George Klein says his book MY BEST MAN is out soon, which came in 2011 . So I put this documentary at 2010 for good measure. Could be earlier though.....
