Elvis was so popular because he was so special as a fellow human being. He didn't discriminate and was kind and generous to everyone he met or to anyone he saw who was in need of help. He just didn't turn his back on people, almost everyone can relate to Elvis in some way. He was humble and loved Jesus, what's not to love about that?

Elvis fan for over 50 years now and even I learned some things from this video I didn't know, absolutely fascinating. This is a very important piece of film.
The Why Elvis question is so easy to answer though, as so many pointed out already. Most artists and entertainers that reach the heights of fame and popularity do so because they are very talented at something they have something, but ELVIS HAD EVERYTHING in spades full,...Amazing, and powerful vocals, a magical and unique resonance that makes you listen and hits the heart, great dance moves, the looks of a Greek god, HUGE presence and charisma, a heart of gold and generosity to a fault, a big sense of humor and playfulness, respectful, humble, polite and kind to everyone. NOBODY that knew or met him had a bad word to say about him. When he first hit the scene in a world of hatred he was ridiculed and vilified but won almost everyone over in no time when his heart and great humanity shone through.
The man literally changed the world for the better and brought joy. The world still loves Elvis like no entertainer before or since.
He was a totally unique and fascinating human being and instantly recognizable the world over, and his story, the American Dream rags to riches is almost mythical. THE ICON, the GOAT. Never be another Elvis.

I love Elvis! My Dad was a huge Elvis fan! He saw him twice in Greensboro NC in the 70's! He said it was so exciting when the intro song See See Rider started and seeing him walk on stage. He said everybody went completely crazy! When I was 14 my parents took us to Tupelo and Memphis for vacation and we went on the Graceland tour. Seeing Graceland was the BEST trip I have ever taken in my life! I recommend everyone to take the Graceland tour if you haven't already, you'll absolutely LOVE IT!! It's something I'll cherish and remember for the rest of my life.

I will agree, there is only one Elvis. The man was gifted with a beautiful golden voice. But better than all that, the man had a beautiful heart. The man was raised in church and had Jesus in his heart. That's what made him so special.
Once in a live concert, somebody screamed out, Elvis you're the king. Elvis replies back. Only Jesus is The True King. You can't help but love a man like that.

They were blessed. N God was with him or his higher power. Not than I'm so religious.just things happen for me that I can't explain but Elvis? Even his name they say gave him success . You become your name if u get my point.he sang in school n blew the students away.stardom was meant to be. N drs made sure they got a big piece I'm sure. Don't think he grew up seeking drugs.he knew he had a spiritual gift. One day when we're on the other side w him we'll get the answers we all need ❤️

Elvis came around when people were really looking for a standard that they can follow. When Elvis came upon the scene people gravitated to this different style that Elvis had he had it all in spades. As time went by into the 60s Elvis huened his skill and voice it got beter and better his talent was really shinning. Elvis put out all those movies and at that time the men seen those ideal type of movies and they would dream that life for themselves it was an idelaic time of life and people grabed unto this. There was now no stopping Elvis he became part of the fabric largely because of those B movies, the movies put it into the minds of the people all 36 movies and a few documentaries specials that came out as the 68 come back and via satellite in 73. After the satellite special Elvis started to lose the spark of life because of his life style he started to fall fast but the people still loved him when Elvis died people started to truly realize we all were part of greatness when Elvis died. Elvis became bigger than ever. Many would love to recapture that great ideal time but it is all so elusive. Folks, you cannot go back but we still can appreciate Elvis music today that will never die. Elvis truly changed the social frabic of society.

Marty C~~~~~ Absolutely right. Elvis never was a king 🤴
Also people who worshipped him must surly realize that he used Thousands of script drugs…of which 10 lethal drugs were found in his system.
He was addicted and the last few years he was truly drugged and very ill.
Nurse 24/7. It was said he needed to wear diapers due to his decline in health.SAD 😔
Elvis was his worse on himself. The drugs depressed and the cultic practices were not of GOD.
      REMEMBER~~the devil believes in Jesus.
It’s surrender of one’s self completely..repentance…leaving all that is called lifestyle of Sex, drugs & fame.
Also giving gifts..etc.etc. Doesn’t get a person into Heaven.

It is true that Elvis did not think he was the King, because he believed in the Lord. Elvis even made the comment that there was only one King and that is our Lord. When interviewed once he said he believed in the Lord and wished he could go to church like other people, but people were to interested in him and trying to get autographs so he couldn't go very much. He was and in my mind is the best entertainer of all time. He had the unique and rich voice that just couldn't be denied!!!! He'll always be the best!!!!

The amazing thing was his popularity in other countries. When Elvis and the guys took leave to Pairs for 15 days from the army, Elvis had been told that in France they are not like Americans and they leave famous people alone, that they may smile and maybe even a quick nod or a wave. WRONG. Him and his buddies were mobbed and the police had to intervene. Then since all of France and Germany got wind that Elvis was in Paris and obviously had to take the train from Paris back to the Army base wherever that was in Germany, hundreds at every small town stood along the tracks with hopes of just seeing his hand wave through a train window. I just saw video of that last evening and wish I knew which video that was now. But obviously there was something special about Elvis based on the fans everywhere such as huge in Japan. Too bad the Elvis in his prime did not tour Europe.

I definitely love the documentary why Elvis. The fan by the gate that has lost her husband and has two ladies standing next to her the white lady the black lady touched me so . A camaraderie I wished to have been apart of because I am alone just like the lady speaking that she lost her husband which would have taken her to see Graceland. She spoke about coming there herself and shared that she received more Solace and comfort by being there t h a n she got from her own family. She also shared that now she knows that Jesus Elvis and her husband are up there together seems grateful and this gives her Solace. All I know is I wanted to reach through this CZcams screen 2 hug her and tell her that I'm in the same situation is so that I can relate. And the part where she says that she found more Solace and comfort t h a n she could find from her family I could also relate to that too. Maybe if I'll ever find the means to go to Graceland I could run into her thank you lovey fan

Naomi and her Fan club are the ones responsible for starting the candlelight vigil that started the first year after Elvis passed. They did security and the whole thing. EPE didn't come in on it until about 10yrs ago. The fan clubs also saved Graceland from the auction block a couple yrs after Elvis passed. They paid the back taxes so it wouldn't be auctioned off. That's just a few of the stories you never hear about. Pricilla gets credit for everything to do with Graceland. I give her credit for what she and EPE Enterprise has done, but I feel they should give credit to his fans for what they've done. You can watch Naomi's interview on The Spa Guys Channel. I was blown away! Just like Ashley Drew didn't get proper credit for spotting Elvis bicycle hanging in the smokehouse. Spa guy followed up on it, and EPE had it refurbished and it's now on display.

I think God was showing off the day he made Elvis, because Elvis had it all, looks,he could sing, dance and had a heart of Gold, but most of all he made millions of people in this old world happy me included. We have every right to enjoy his music and all the silly and some great movies he made.To some degree Elvis was kind of like our Lord and savior in some ways and i do not believe God will be affended by this, but Elvis gave up a lot in life to bring happniess and lots of love to his many, many fans and still does to this day for that matter. He gave all of his rights up to entertain the world he could not go out on his own to a movie, out shopping, or even go out for a nice meal at some fancy place without being mobbed.I cannot imagine how difficult that would be to never be able to do the many things of everyday living, but he said,he loved his fans and the attention he got from all of them and felt it was all worth it to have them in his life.He was not God and even said, there was only one King and it was the Lord.I truly believe Elvis is in Heaven reuniited with his mom amd dad when God made Elvis he had a special perppose for him to come and spread love, happiness and most of all to show the much needed kindness in that time frame, when there was so much hate that the black people could not even use the front door or get a record deal, but Elvis walked right through that door and knocked it wide open and even sang with them.I just feel in my heart Elvis was sent here for a time and then God wanted him back and if you think about i have never recalled any other famous person to be remembered like him on each birthday and each year of his death and the millions of people to visit Graceland each year to celebrate this amazing man and what he acomplished in those 42 years he was on this earth. He left his mark on this world and will continue for generations to come. ♥️😊🙏

I’m so sure they skipped right over his most important show of all time, the show which got him back to live performances, The 1968 Comeback Special. After that, everyone knew he still had it after going to Hollywood and making those shitty “formula” movies from the day he got out of the army in 1960-1968 Comeback special. Again, I can’t believe they didn’t even mention this, his most important show. Elvis Presley was an angel, he never forgot where he came from. He died almost broke because he gave away almost all the money he made to complete strangers too. There’s a great documentary on CZcams called, Elvis Presley, 200 Cadillacs. It talks about all the cars he gave away, many to complete strangers.

You know it always makes me laugh when I consider the titles of some of these big talent shows today ..."The X Factor" ..."American Idol" and so on . These music promotors are looking for a ship that has already sailed , because those titles have only ever applied to one human being, who died in 1977. He passed through here briefly, and we shall never see the likes of him ever again. There was no one before him and there will NEVER be anyone after him . Elvis Aaron Presley was truly a Prince from another Planet .

Elvis Presley well...erm...he was simply just the King of most all genres of music, and as he completely & successfully overcame & took control & He was the first american to climb any mountain that God gave him. His music from 1969 onwards Elvis Presley returned to live performances at the International Hotel in Las Vegas; breaking all attendance records in his 57-concert run. He also enjoyed great success with his songs "In the Ghetto" and "Suspicious Minds".

      Just The King Jeff.
The rock and roll title was only for the 50's, when Elvis got back from the army he conquered almost all musical genres, Hollywood and finally, biggest touring artist in US.
He was rarely if ever called king of rock and roll after 50's during his lifetime.
So just The King, and that covers it all!!
