I spoke to a man who flew into Memphis airport the day Elvis died,he didnt know Elvis had died,he couldnt work out why all these ladies were crying everywhere,he asked and was told our King was gone....so sad.R.I.P young man

My husband and i were on our honeymoon in Calamurada,Mallorca the day Elvis died.My usband was Mallorcan.He and our friends were sitting on the terras to eat breakfast,i bought the newspaper of that day.I heard them laughing and talking as i came from the shop,i had tears in my eyes,they asked what was going on,i gave them the newspaper.The talking and laughing stopped,we could'nt believe it,the whole day the owner of the tavern played Elvis songs,everyone was silent and most of them where crying.A day that i will never forget,my husband died in 1986,he was only 29 years old,it still are days that i will never forget and think a lot about.

I was 15 years old working as a dishwasher and a Red lobster in Clearwater came home that night from work put on the TV and that's all that was on Elvis Presley dead at 42 I stayed up till TV went off back then watching stuff on Elvis couldn't believe it I had just that year bought my mother to 8-track tapes one was Moody blue and I don't I'm not sure what the other one was for her birthday she loved her favorite song was Hurt the last days of her life I played that song for her many times so I guess it's true you remember where you were on certain days like 9/11 RFK JFK I was too young but you remember the important people that were part of your life

Drugs of all kinds are really tricky and insidious. That interview when he was asked “How do you pace yourself”? Elvis didn’t even sound like himself. He was hooked. And the fact that Lisa Marie died in a very similar way is pretty gut wrenching. Kind of like Whitney Houston and her daughter Bobbie Chris
Yes, you're right. But Elvis, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and so many others since the 1950s were addicted to amphetamines, which managers gave them on tour to keep them awake. and of course he couldn't last long on 2-3 hours of sleep. So then the sleeping pills come and the cycle continues. Elvis's end was after his divorce from Priscilla. There were more and more medications until the bitter end. Thank you !!
This one is interesting, as a musician I check in with you know the history of Elvis out of respectful the music that I make and the type of music I produce, and I am a hardcore Pink Floyd van King crimson canned heat and all of these guys including myself, I feel when I come by here and you know learn more about Elvis and paying respects, and homage to the work that he did, interesting, I like how what is personality he's easily questioned about his energy levels and he always makes people laugh vitamin e. Mi viene da pensare.....certo Elvis aveva seri problemi di salute per i quali doveva curarsi, aveva ritmi sonno/veglia praticamente scambiati e prendeva farmaci. Aveva anche un carattere tosto, determinato a fare ciò che riteneva giusto senza ascoltare troppo i consigli di chi gli diceva di rallentare e non abusare del lavoro e delle pillole. Momenti di depressione......perché comunque era stanchissimo e faticava nei tour....e poi negli anni 70 anche la medicina non era a livelli di oggi (forse i problemi al colon e il glaucoma si potevano curare meglio se i medici avessero avuto maggiori strumenti di cura).
Sono tutte supposizioni......
Era arrivato il suo momento.
Ma certo, Elvis meritava di vivere ancora e meglio di quanto aveva fatto fino ad allora, con qualcuno che si prendesse più cura di lui facendogli capire quale era il bene per lui.

With great respect to Elvis, the day the music died will be upon death of Paul McCartney, who aged 82 still tours and packs out stadiums. Although for some it was when John Lennon was murdered, meaning The Beatles would never get back together again, although ironically he and McCartney had become close again and were about to book studio time together. RIP Elvis, John Lennon and George Harrison.

Elvis's life wasn't his own. He needed to take pills just to be elvis. I can't imagine a life like that. Overworked and abused.

He did NOT know "how to stay healthy." And it was not a matter of drugs or no drugs. His diet was atrocious & he took nothing healthy to try to help. He inherited some difficult physical conditions, but he may have been able to continue longer if he would have helped himself & sought proper care or intervention. He was helping to aid in his own early demise.

Все эти таблетки и запрещенные препараты итог его скоростной славы.У артистов ночная жизнь,перелеты ,переезды,не нормированный режим отдыха,много обязательств .Всегда надо для зрителя выглядеть бодрым ,веселым и работоспособным.Вот и принимают стимуляторы,потом идет привыкание.То ,что Элвиса вначале бодрило ,в конце его и погубило!💔😔

elvis had in mind what most people have in mind IF it comes from a doctor. to me it's a false sense of security considering the problems NOW with prescription drugs. they've only evolved over the years. i've wondered how much parker had a hand in doctors doing whatever it took to keep elvis "standing/performing....." i always thought lisa marie had a sadness in her eyes. even pictures of her smiling, there's a sadness. if she saw her dad in such a way, at such a young age, that would explain the sadness that she couldn't hide. the world doesn't stop for our broken hearts does it?

Elvis è stato molto intelligente a farsi venire in mente l'idea di sparire all'improvviso...era l'unico modo per mettere fine alla vita folle che era costretto a fare e ovviamente uscirne bene riservando il suo operato...per le persone normali è difficile capire questo ma lui non era una persona normale per cui il personaggio vivrà sempre mentre lui ha potuto fermarsi e scendere dalla ruota e rilassarsi e non pensare a niente.... ovviamente ora noi non sappiamo se lui è ancora vivo però questa è stata la sua scelta di vita dopo Elvis il personaggio....direi abbastanza originale dopo il 16 agosto del 1977.....
