Jerry is a true friend to elvis, I have never once heard him talk badly about elvis, he's always respectful, has great stories and as far as I know, I may be wrong but as far as I know he is the only one left in the memphis mafia who had a home bought for them by elvis and kept it, a truly loyal friend to elvis.

Jerry Schilling is such a gentleman. He is soft-spoken and very easy to talk to. He should be interviewed more often and have his memories of Elvis captured on video. He is a fountain of information on Elvis that is priceless. He was there, he lived it, he knew Elvis personally. Love him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This past December I brought my two sons, 19 and 15, to Graceland. Wasnt sure they would like it as they arent big Elvis fans (I am) but they were HOOKED even before they ENTERED. Every detail. they soaked it in. The amazing STAFF and tour guides. The cars, the planes. Just a LIFE CHANGING experience for me and them. Cross Country drive with my two boys and had the time of our LIVES. THANK YOU for keeping Elvis' memory alive.

What an incredible friend of a lifetime. Always respectfully candid and genuinely seems concerned for elvises legacy to be properly upheld. Not a commonality for most of the people he surrounded himself with unfortunately.

For Jerry it must have been so incredible going back into the mansion and reliving all of the memories. You can tell he really misses his friend Elvis Presley. It really must have taken a lot for Jerry to hold it all together and not breakdown in tears. I do believe those were the happiest times in his life
I was at Elvis's home one time as a fan. What I remember is the night before, I was outside at night all alone and leaning on the fence looking at the mansion. I could feel the energy and excitement of the place, it was a natural high. I never felt anything like that before, or since then. I went to see Elvis's mansion the next day and it was like the best high I ever had. Most of all I enjoyed being outside late at night, it was just myself, my thoughts, and Elvis's mansion. Oh yeah I forgot, it was around Christmas time and the blue lights were on.

it so great to have the insight of someone like Jerry. When I went to Graceland it was everything I was hoping it would be and more. so incredible.
I just went to Graceland this past weekend for the first time. What a magical time it was. I paid extra to have a private tour guide, and it was so worth it. I loved hearing all the Elvis stories and learning about the stories behind the different rooms and buildings.
Jerry is always so gracious...he has a warm and respectful demeanour, really enjoyed this, would love to sit and chat there with him also.
I love seeing Graceland. I have been 4 times and would go again. It is really so special if you love Elvis.

Here's a man who was Elvis friend and lived in Graceland for a time. I mean imagine him being there in the house remembering back when Elvis was there and all the good times.
Hard to believe Elvis has been deceased coming up on 40 years.
It's almost like Elvis is still living there and you expect to see him at the front door because the mansion has been keep up and looks as it did when Elvis was there.

i met Jerry during Elvis week and got his book i bought signed by him, we talked for almost 15 mins. even though there was a crowd behind me, and no one seemed to mind us taking time to talk.He was the sweetest, nicest most humble man i ever met. If you never read his book, get it Jerry is and was his only real friend Elvis had............
I would count Billy and Charley in that category. They've always been positive talking about Elvis as well as his humorous side.

I recently made a comment on a different vid saying that of the Memphis Mafia , that Joe & Charlie were probably the best guys around him , but I 4got about Jerry. He's always been there for E & never bad mouthed Him. You can tell he truly cared about Elvis. My apologies Jer !
Hodge and Esposito were there in Elvis' last 9 months when Elvis dated Ginger Alden but Jerry was not. Jerry didn't help Elvis when he was publicly attacked by the West-cousins and Dave Hebler.
This was so organic and sweet thank you Jerry for all your kind Elvis stories. Great idea to interview people that spent time or lived at Graceland. I'd love to see more people walk through Graceland telling their stories!!
I just wonder why they've never asked the closest person to Elvis which is Billy Smith! Billys family and Elvis family were very close and even moved to Mephis together. Billy grew up with Elvis from a tot on and was pretty much a constant companion and confidant.
@@sandralybrand9425 I agree with you Sandra, I don't get it why they haven't interviewed Billy. He was part of the MM, kin, & probably closer than anyone.
I think it has to do with the book Billy, Lamar and Marty did with Alanna Nash. It's considered to be one of the best books about Elvis but it tells a lot of personal information. I read Billy once said that after Elvis died he asked George Klein why they were never asked to do interviews or reunions and he replied that it had to do with "that book". After the death of Elvis the MM seems to have split into 3 camps. First, was Jerry, Joe, Charlie, and George. Second, was Sonny and Red West. Third, was Lamar, Billy and Marty. However, I would recommend the book.
The book is called "Elvis Aaron Presley: Revelations from the Memphis Mafia". Excellent book but it may reveal more about Elvis than some fans want to know.
@@Elizabeth-dw6lc Not that book. The book Elvis by Albert Goldman. Lamar got the deep-freeze because of that book. Which I think contains mostly unflattering things and some mistakes and out-right lies.
Gary Schilling is the man. A great stand up man and a best friend to Elvis. I just ordered his book. I can't wait to read it.

I'm reading ur book Mr. Schilling and I love it. I also noticed u mentioned Elvis appearing at the Olympia Theatre in Miami. I was there that night.
Been a fan of Elvis my entire life. Visited Graceland many times. I have to say it is a spiritual place,like being at church. You feel his presence everywhere. At the same time a feeling of home. I love the weather the air in Memphis its unexplainable really unless you have been there.

One of the greatest wishes i ever had , was to visit Graceland. My wish came through 12 years ago and it was better than I ever expected. The place oozes Elvis you can sense him everywhere.

I was only 5 when Elvis died, and yet I remembered exactly where I was when he died. I grew up in in the South, knowing about Elvis and what a huge star he was. I guess it is difficult for anyone over the age of 20 today to not know who Elvis was. But I have really become enamored with his whole story. Of course I love his music, especially his gospel stuff. Last night I texted my mother to ask her if she remembered where she was when Elvis died. She could not remember. I told her we were at Panama City Beach, FL, and told her whose beach house we were staying in. I thought I had the name right on who owned the beach house (we live quite close and stayed in many throughout the years). My two-years-older than me brother confirmed my memories, right down to the name of the family that owned the beach house. I wouldn't mind visiting Graceland. I've been through Memphis once on our way to Arkansas, but we just stayed the night there. Did not even consider Graceland.

I watched an interview with Jerry a few weeks ago and I didn't realize he stopped working for Elvis in 1974. I always thought he worked for Elvis up until his death.

I loved that you had Jerry Schilling on. I'm just about done reading his book, not sure how many he may have made, but I think I am reading the first one. I love Jerry's quiet way, he was a true friend to Elvis and that makes me happy to know that Elvis had a true friend in him. I wish he would have been there with Elvis when he passed though, but totally understood why he needed to move forward. I love that he came back "home" and went down to his room. So sweet. I pray Elvis lives on for many more generations and I thank all of those who are recording all this history and talking to people that was in Elvis' life before they are no more. We need this history told for Elvis to live on. But I want only respectful memories of Elvis to lift him up as he isn't here anymore to defend himself. So thank you for your respectful videos of Elvis. A class act You Tube channel!

Jerry I believe I have read is highly educated. He met Elvis playing football in 1954 I think. Jerry was once billy Joel's manager., jerry is one of elvis' truest bluest friends. Him
