  • Welcome to Adi's Little Shedshop, just a quick video to prove that Sandpaper isn't a single use item and can be re-used time and time again. Depending on the quality of the Sandpaper itself it really can be replenished many many times. I have used this method on the Bench sander for years, but recently started to see if it can prolong the life of other Sandpaper items like the sheets of it and other types of sander. I started using it on my mini sanding drums from the Dremel not Dremel, ( I call it this as it's not a real Dremel ), very impressed as these are a very quick item to get through and this makes them last an awful lot longer lasting. I'm not entirely sure what the blocks are made of, but they seem to be a kind of rubber and when they get cold they certainly are solid, warmed up though and they get very pliable, a very worthy investment for any wood worker. Thankyou and we will see you soon.

Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, these are a great and cheap way of extending the life of sanding discs and belts. Also very affordable too, especially compared to the cost of new sandpaper these days.

Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I'm pretty new to this, thankyou for the feedback, I didn't realise just how much it washed me out until I watched it back on the big screen today. Thankyou I will bare that in mind, I don't know if I can fiddle with the music now, but on my next ones I will definitely take it into account.

I’ve been doing this for decades and I don’t understand why this is not universally done. I do it during or after each pass. Same applies to hand sanding paper. Most videos show clogged up paper.

Hi thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I have been doing this for years too and you are quite right most videos do show clogged paper. It baffles me as to why people don't use it after every sanding as it's normally cheaper than buying new discs or belts, also I don't know why manufacturers don't pop a little block in with new machines.

I save my old dried up tubes of silicone or the rubber sole from an old cheap pair of sneakers / trainers...

Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I love that idea and will definitely have to give it a go. Something else I tend to have an abundance of is old bike tyres, I wonder if that will work just as good.

I haven't tried them yet, I find the silicone works a treat. I find I never get to the bottom of a tube and it sets in the tube before I get to use it all.
