How about doing an interview with someone who is not so like-minded so we can understand them better. Like ,for example, a transgender person. Let's stop living with blinders and try to understand people rather than just interview those vanilla wafers coming from this exact same box of cookies you come from. That old cliche about variety being the spice of life certainly applies to God's creation
@Shower of Roses did Jesus only hang with people who were his followers? Absolutely not. Jesus spent a lot of his time if not most of it with people who were not following him, people outside the margins, and even sinners. This channel isolates itself among like-minded people rather than go out and reach others who are not like minded so that we can understand why they are not like minded. What good does it do to talk about Father James Martin or LGBT people and then never have them on your show to discuss how they feel and how you feel? This isn't what Jesus did and it shouldn't be what we do as Catholics.

As a mother of two daughters with polar opposite temperaments, I just want to say THANK YOU for this! I've never heard someone articulate the parent insecurity that comes along with raising different personalities. Also, what a great reminder that one of the best parenting tactics is to focus on a healthy marriage. This is my first time commenting on a CZcams video because I'm just so grateful for it. Thanks again!

Yeah so I was playing World of Warcraft. Listening to Matt Fradd like we all do in Azeroth. While I was blacksmithing my rough sharpening stones in the Dwarven District in Stormwind City and was listening to the advert about Exodus in the beginning, I look up and this other guy walks into my screen called.... Exodus (only one guy on the server can have that name). Yeah... guess I'm doing Exodus now.

I can relate with Damon at 49:59. I feel the same way. Scandal after scandal yet my faith remains strong not shaken, by the grace of God, to Him all the glory! Just ROOTED through our previous popes plus the gift of unshakable faith by the grace of God. Our Lord will always save the Church, we are at 2000 years!! Through many many crisis!

She’s the reason I’ve become open to the idea of going to seminary and I’m currently applying.
I have a friend that was blessed with 16 children by using NFP. Needless to say her cycle was rarely regular. Now that she is beyond child baring years, she has developed many medical issues which requires a lot of surgery to repair organs. My heart breaks to watch all her suffering. God please bless her life.

Awesome! I was looking for the time stamp though I would not mind listening to the whole talk.
I enjoyed the parts about struggling with family in ministry and then him daring to be vulnerable about his parenting mistakes as well as Matt. There were many more things I enjoyed hearing from Damon but I think perhaps I need to go back and replay this two or three times to really grasp it all as it felt too high for me to understand now.
in terms of media use: our households, families, parishes, and communities should be the primary focus we have, and then i think the supplemental media could be good. Like you said some might be called specifically to take up the mantle online, but we are all called to serve those in our parish and life each other up -- we can only really do that in person

Good interview; definitely disagreed with Damon's framing of people never approaching Christ and receiving death. It seemed to me like maybe he initially was only talking about when people approached Christ while he was walking around? But then when you pointed out the contradiction when it comes to receiving the Eucharist while in mortal sin, Damon didn't want to just say, "Oh yeah, I didn't think of that. Okay, fair exception to this point," and he just kept talking and tried to wrap his argument around even the occasion of receiving the Eucharist unworthily? I was thankful you pushed back, anyway.

So I'm listening to all of these videos as I work and I'm really enjoying them and then I hear, "what I want is a convent [as a type of living space] and sex [with my spouse]" and that just hit a major funny bone in me because it's true. We have this idea of holiness, but we also desire a true union with a spouse.
