I don’t own a TV. I hate reality shows. But after working professionally in kitchens most of my life I can honestly say I love this guy, cause he’s right. He finally says out loud what we all are thinking; the service is mediocre, the quality of the food is shit and can sometimes even sicken customers. If you saw the walk-in fridges in most restos you’d be horrified.

Gordon would make an excellent Marine drill instructor. When I first saw an episode of Kitchen Nightmares, and didn't know much about him, one of my thoughts was did he serve in the Royal Marines, as a drill instructor. Even though he didn't serve in the British military, he still has the attitude, and the bark of a drill instructor.
Watching Kitchen Nightmares, and Hell's Kitchen reminds me of the scenes in the first half of the movie Full Metal Jacket with gunnery sergeant Hartman.

Go watch the first season. He literally is far more civil, nice and understanding. And NOBODY respected him, NOBODY gets better and SO MUCH food was wasted, it was ridiculous. He may snap but when YOU have to waste MASSIVE amounts of food (some of it very expensive), nobody respects you or listens to you and people try to cop an attitude on YOUR show in YOUR kitchen with the opportunity YOU ARE GIVING THEM because you're nice....

Kitchens are an extremely stressfull environment. You NEED to be on point, do everything perfectly or else everything goes to shit.
Ramsay has every right to get angry and spew insults, Hells Kitchen's contestants are supposed to be "professional" or at least experienced chefs, so he expects that they put their best effort into running a fast-paced restaurant. Unlike Masterchef where everything is more chilled, the contestants are just homecooks if I'm not mistaken.

I am amazed that Chef Gordon still has a voice XDDD I have been to quite the events like these restaurants , festival cooking , street food cooking and our master chef was about to stab us a lot of times XDD we had to cook chinese food, japanese food , game food "hunting" , sea food , fresh water food ,kebabs and the hardest dishes that i had to cook with my cooking partner was bear meat , shark fins and snap turtle ....those ones made me cry so many times from how hard the master chef was on us but we did it ...we got our chef hats and clothes a huge , tight hug from our master chef and a lot of tears from everyone that we pulled it threw and now i am a chef myself . I know exactly what they are going with Chef Gordon screaming at them but if you keep fighting , never giving up and never EVER feel to shy to speak up to your team if you need help ,taste ,opinions always speak up and communicate and it will be alright . There will be tears ,stress ,anger , low energy , sweat but you will pull it off and at the end of it the calm and proud voice of the master chef telling you " Well done , amazing job " and you knowing that you kept your game up it's an amazing reward .
