Freddy, Kit, and Amita are perfect in their roles. They absolutely nailed their roles!
On a Kanej/Inej fangirl note, I LOVE in the books how Inej's choice to be with Kaz was entirely that: a choice. I love she's willing to walk away unless he can give her 100% what she deserves. There's no "I can fix him!" -- just healthy "You fix yourself. I'll support you and be patient. But you have to make the effort and I'm not settling for less." Like -- YES. I love that. Inej owning her worth and what she deserves (especially given her past trauma) in such a healthy, self-confident way was so refreshing for me as a reader.
I'm seriously wondering what the ending of S2 for Inej is going to be. Especially with Amita's "Inej's ending in the S2 finale is shocking!" and the tease of "you'll see Kanej do something they'll never get to do!" has me nervous/excited. I have plenty of fan theories (a dream scene?), but I'm hoping they don't stray TOO far from the book or the spirit of the characters.
And I agree that it's weird seeing Kaz a little more open given it takes him 2 whole books to be somewhat emotionally open. But, I guess it would be hard to translate that from book to screen without making Kaz too unlikeable. They need to speed things up a bit, I guess. That's what I'm figuring. But as a Kanej/SOC fangirl, especially when viewing the show as a "fanfiction" version of SOC as Leigh said it was, I can take it! 😄

That is 100% one of my favourite parts of Inej’s character - she knows her worth and asks for nothing less. She respects herself where others haven’t and recognizes that Kaz needs to work on himself not only for his sake but also for hers. And the way he’s like challenge accepted I’ll become a better man for you I- I’m soft your honour 🥹
I’m also SO EXCITED about kanej scenes in season two because like you said, they teased so much!! As long as they keep them in character and respect the way their traumas affect them both, I CANNOT wait to see where they take us 🥰 and I know Freddy and Amita will do a great job!! ❤️
