The luckiest I have gotten is finding a variegated alocasia polly at my local grocery store and I almost passed out. Still waiting for the day for the monstera. That is such a good one too!

Grocery stores in the Midwest have been offering a medley of small batch rarer plants lately, so don’t sleep on them.
Kroger’s had a bunch of six inch pots of Ficus shivereana for only $25 each last week.
Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods are also known for carrying the latest in hard-to-find fresh tropicals.
Don’t pass them up!

That fuzzy dark green/purpley "beautiful home decor" plant is a mikania ternata. It's very thirsty and not very forgiving...

Nice find! I am anxious to see how it does. Congratulations, I am so happy you found it! I am in California. Lowes and Home Depot have about the same thing here. Just have to watch for special things like you found. I'm watching for a nice pink princess and a red Anthurium that are in good shape. Maybe a Peace Lilly. Are there any Walmarts near you? If so, I would love to see you include them in your plant shopping. My friends have found some great things there too, like some White Knight Philodendrons. Lowes, Home Depot, and Walmart are all good to look for plants here. I am learning more and more of the names watching your videos and then I can look some of them up to see if I think I can grow them or not before I buy it. I like some of the Alocasias, but from what I have read, they may be hard to keep. What do you think? I like starting with the smaller plants that are less expensive. A friend has a home business with mostly succulents. I always wanted some of the string of plants. I bought a string of hearts-varigated and it has already grown about 4" for me in only a couple of weeks! I am so excited! Maybe I will go plant shopping in the morning. We had some heat waves here with temps like 113 degrees. The plants at all 3 places were not looking so great. We're in the 90"s now so I am kind of waiting for the temps. to settle down a bit. I think the hoht weather is had on the shipping of them and the last time I was in Lows, the plants were in terrible need of water and were so droopy. I went to talk to someone about it and he was already starting to water on another aisle. So sad, many of those beautiful plants will die. I wish I could take them all home and rehab them. I wish I knew what day they get new plants in at all 3 stores. I guess I need to go plant shopping more often. 🙂
I do have Walmarts, but they're not great. I go sometimes! Alocasia can be difficult but not if you know how to care for them! 😊

Is it considered a large form monstera albo...wouldn't be the small form borsigiana? Never seen that bold of one in sport variegation...you are a lucky woman!
It wouldn't be considered albo, it's sport variegation, and I do think it's a large form but I'm not sure.
