In this episode I went plant shopping at two different Lowe's. They were packed with plants. Surprising for December! I had to cut my trip to the second Lowe's short but I still love my plant haul. I was in Lowes earlier today and saw an Anthurium Fingers and an employee saw me looking it over and marked it 50% off right there on the spot. I didn't even ask!

@@TaraBoblitt I see these ceramic pots with plants all the time but can you share the method on how to get the plant out safely without hurting the plant? Plastic pots are easy since you can squeeze the sides and the plant pop out easily and I have done that before. Please share.....thanks!
If it doesn't slide out easily then I don't do it, I'll never force it out or risk breaking the plant or pot.
The Lowe's near me is horrible to the plants!! I go to save the "half-dead" plants on clearance but about 1/4 of all the plants are dying. I beg employees to water them but they won't. Yesterday I went and all the crotons leaves were turning brown and falling off! they were covered in spider mites! They have the plants so close together, I'm betting that all the plants will be infected in days. I don't know why I go back cause it breaks my heart every time.😭

In my experience Lowe’s always has the best plants……..but I love to purchase the clearance ones and try to bring back to life!
Me too...I visit the plant "hospital" first. I've had very good luck reviving the plants. Often, they just need to be watered. I've lost a couple, but the price for these wounded plants make up for losing a couple.
I really like Lowes also. I have gotten a lot of great plants there.
I just love how we rate the plants we love based on how well theyll put up with us mistreating them.. 😂

Thank You, I work at Lowes and when people indiscriminately switch plants it ruins our inventory. Each specific plact has its own code with Costa Plants.
Live Trends/Urban Jungle are priced by pot type not plant type. Some pots gets the the basic plants, others of basically the same size just different designs will get the uncommon ones. In this case it really just screws the customer buying the pot with a now switched common plant at a higher price.
In this case my management just prefers we log the plant out of the system and throw a good plant away. So, It hurts everyone.
@@roseannmarion6607 Thank you for the insight. I would only switch if the plant was the same, the pot was the same but a different color. But I'm sure not everyone follows that rule. I have seen Costa Farms plants in the Live Trends pots before at Lowe's and I know someone switched.

Dear Ashley, I just knew it would be the Monroe Lowe's that I go to all the time. 😱Never a dull moment! I'm so glad you're OK and got that Anthurium "Fingers" at the Indian Trail store. It's a nice, healthy plant at a good price. I got my Monstera "Peru" there. I wonder if some heating equipment on the roof went "kaboom". At least Monroe has a good Fire Department just down the street from Lowe's. Hope this warming trend continues for a while. That was a cold Christmas for sure! Stay safe and warm! 😊

I found a PPP for $20 at Lowe’s last week. It was labeled as a Birkin. Then when I was repotting it there were actually two separate plants ❤❤

The same thing happened at a Lowe's near me but it was dumped in the clearance. It must be a mislabeling situation that happened...
My first thought would of been when the explosion happened was grab as many plants and run 😅. It’s not like they’d make me put them down 🤣🤣. Love the anthurium though sadly thoes are considered rare here in the uk :(

I found a variegated maranta at lowes in a hanging basket for $14.98. It was the only one there and the tag said it was called "houseplant" rather than saying what it was. But I can't complain about that find!

You must have timed your plant shopping day perfectly. Both stores had such good selections! I only have four different Lipstick plants but I got them all here in Charlotte at great prices. I like the flowers on the Mona Lisa the best, so pretty! Many thanks for another fun video! 👌🪴🥰

that "orchid cactus" is epiphylum Hookerii... i have it growing outside, it blooms several times a year, but it is a species... means that it blooms at night... the flowers, depending on the temperature will last 12-24 hours... if it's hot, in the morning, they'll start wilting... but if it's a cool day, they'll stay open all day... beautiful "pinwheel" type flowers...

In the Charlotte area, at Lowe's, there are pink princess philodendrons being sold. I got one from the Lowe's on Albermale Rd and the Lowe's on Ballantyne Commons Parkway. They aren't highly variegated with pink, but there are small spots of pink on them. They are with the Trending Tropicals line. $19.98

That was actually a revelation for me, that plants are sold in ceramic pots in America. Nice and beautiful ceramic pots, I must say. I would pay some extra for this. Because in my country we have only plants in ugly plastic transport pots and lack of choice of good looking ceramics. Here pots are mostly the same and typical, which is really boring. As more I watch American green bloggers, as more I see a lot of cool pots in their collections. Now I know where they get them from)
i just saved three lucky bamboo cuttings from their soil and put them in water lol. they were getting a lot of light and they had soil everywhere
I got an Alocasia azlanii today at home Depot. The shiny purple is beautiful.

That's amazing. My local Home Depot only has Phalanopsis and ferns. Nothing else indoors.
My local Lowes has beautiful plants but most of them are infested with Fungus Gnats. I've bought a few, taken them home and rinsed off the old soil and planted them in some new soil. Took a little bit for them to perk up but they are happy and healthy now!

I need a big one because I have a baby one, and some of the leaves are dieng, and I know I'm supposed to cut them until they are super dried out, but it's kinda sad. It has 6 leaves and 3 of the smallest leaves are drying out😕

After watching your video, I promptly ran to my two nearest Lowe's..es. Neither of them had cool new plants. I did pick up some clearance plants, then got frustrated with the cashier who didn't seem to understand 'half-price" and kept asking me if that was like 10%. I wound up missing like $4 worth of discount. So I stopped by HD and found a 2" variegated string of buttons for $4, which made me feel a little better, because of the symmetry, not the math.
But, Yeah! Plant haul! 😄

Hi Ashley nice to see you I was in my Lowes yesterday and most of the plants were frost bit and Heat damage from the blowers so it was a bust. I'm going to save my Money for the spring My Wish list plant is a Thai constellation.

Picked up a philodendron Brandtianum at my Lowe’s today! First time I’ve seen them in my area.

Sadly the Lowe's and Walmart near me have garden centers of death. The indoor plant section is extremely cold, nothing ever gets watered. However it gets delivered to the store is how it stays, dry or not. I've stopped going to both places, it's heart breaking!! Neither store marks anything down much. Lowe's goes to 50% for "distressed" plants but in reality they are nearly dead and even I wouldn't be able to revive them. I have well over 150 plants in my personal collection and a small online business. Both stores would rather throw them out than sell them for a buck or two. That includes the cover pots no matter the material they are made of, ceramic, terracotta, metal or whatever. It all goes into the trash.
I'm in Ohio and I think we have the worst plant section for zloes and Home Depot. I AM SO JEALOUS . The plant you chose was fabulous 👌 ❤
I’m in Colorado and our stores were all carrying the calatheas but they just get dried up leaf tips assuming from too dry climate

Most of my houseplants came from Lowe's. I have a bird's nest fern, sago palm, snake plant, and various secullents in my kitchen window. Most plants I have has been transplanted into larger pots. I was wondering if Irish moss can be planted inside? 🍀 Today I bought a red peace lily. 🐀🐾
