I laughed when the Master showed up and the Doctor said, "Oh no. Now I really am finished.".
Definitely the funniest moment in the entire series.
At least the term matrix has stood the test of time
What gets me is that neither the Doctor nor the Valeyard are particularly amused by the Master there. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

at 1.32-1.34: I love the look of utter contempt that the Master gives the Valeyard. Anthony Ainley was truly a worth successor to Roger Delgardo!

That background behind the master is very trippy
It matches the Doctor's Skittles coat. So when the camera cuts back and forth, you see matrix, Skittles, matrix, Skittles. It's an effect.
When ever the Master wants to help the Doctor goes "Oh no". Like in the Five Doctors. I feel sorry for the Master at these times XD!
Frankly I think the Master is saying less than he means.

I rewatched The Five doctors yesterday and it's basically The Master offering the Doctor his help for the first 50 min, only to be turned down every time and left to die twice. Understandably he then chose to turn against him again^^

I love that since the valeyard is the doctor he was just as unhappy to see the master as the doctor was.

You know....if you think about it The Master said The Valeyard is The Doctor's most darkest and evil self and will be coming once he reaches his 12th or 13th incarnation....

with the doctor getting a new cycle between his 12th and Final just got a lot longer, so if they have the guts to do so we may yet see him return. Well they at least mentioned him in the Christmas special: The Shadow of the Valeyard.

Peri should have died, though her death was retconned in this same season. I love Peri, so naturally I'd like her to live, but her death was well done, and her actress has said that she'd prefer for Peri to die the way she did in this series.

Yes and fortunately he never got to do anything with the character. Forgetting all about the Valeyard is best, but I shudder to think of the mess Moffat would have made of him.

As I remember that storyline, the Valeyard was explained by the Master as "the evil BETWEEN your twelfth and final incarnations". (Emphasis mine. The second person pronoun was in reference to the Doctor.)

I don't understand is why did the Time Lords not recognise the master in this courtroom
It is possibly due to this version of The Master not being a proper Time Lord regeneration. The Master tried to do a 13th regeneration and it left him a barely living walking corpse, only kept alive by force of will. To survive, The Master hijacked the body of Nyssa's father and took it over. He regained some youth and became the way you see him here. Although The Master could survive this way, to quote one of the books he considered it a ghoulish existence and he wants another set of time lord regenerations.
Think of it as why doesn’t everyone on earth recognise an infamous criminal? Not everyone knows every Timelord. The Daleks didn’t recognise The Doctor in Revelation either.

I really think the inclusion of the Master in the last 2 parts of Trial of a Time Lord was not necessary and totally wasteful given how we had an awesome Time Lord villain the Valeyard .

@@mekhimays9599 I am sorry to disagree but the Master was wasted in Trial of a Time Lord and Mark of the Rani in some ways he was overused like arch-enemy and arch-villain Servalan in Blake,s Seven she appeared in some episodes but did very little and in the 1t Rani story and this story the Ultimate Foe the master plays second fiddle to 2 other Time Lord villains and he is not therefore the principal villain of the story but that is made up for in the 7th Doctor story Survival which sadly finished classic Dr Who for a long time.

@@mekhimays9599 Buddy the Master like the principal villain and arch-enemy of Blake and co in Blake,s seven who was the woman called Servalan useful and awesome as Servalan was as an arch-villain and as an arch-enemy she was overused and so in millions of ways was the Master both in the forms of Delgado and Ainley it does not pay to overused returning villains to frequently and Trial of a Time Lord like Mark of the Rani just has the Master been a 2nd fiddle villain to the Rani and to the Valeyard and really neither story really needed him there.
