The Sixth Doctor was just as charming as the others, just in a different way.
He was crap. Certainly no Avon
I loved how Colin kept calling the Valeyard, Mr. Courtyard, The Graveyard, The Boatyard and so on :D
Scrapyard was my favorite
The courtroom scenes were used too liberally this season though.
I abosultely love the arrogance of the 6th Doctor. He's bloody awesome!
You are not the only one. :)
Why is everyone talking about Amy, Rory and River on a Colin Baker video.
The fashion police finally caught up with the Doctor. He's screwed.
😁 😅 😂 🤣🤣 🤣 😭
Love how he basically just said “Oh yeah! Well I’m your boss and say I get to go home “ then tried to leave until she was like “we gave your job to somebody else” and he was like “oh” and just sat back down
Colin's timing is superb! So sadly underrated!
He's a shitty actor.
You can tell how brilliant the writing is in the two episodes of the season written by Robert Holmes. Such a tragedy that his final vision was never completed the way he would have written it.
Did it have Saward s idiot idea of having the Dr fall in a hole with the baddie like Sherlock and Moriarty
The Sixth Doctor: Ace Attorney. Or something.
Danganronpa: Doctor who trials
why is it everyone hates Colin Baker and his Doctor? he was a great doctor and actor, so, everyone stop hating him >:(
Because BBC fucked up Doctor who with shit writing for his time as the doctor and then put the blame on Colin Baker so people think he was a bad doctor when really it was BBC’s shit writing back then.
I'd say as far as "showing the dark side" the top five in my opinion are
5: The First
4: The Sixth
3: The Tenth
2: The Ninth
1: The Seventh
I love that bit in Part 13 when the truths coming out and the Valeyard tries to stop it and the Doctor just shouts, "I don't think so STACK YARD!" Brilliant writing :)
He sounds like someone off the antiques roadshow
I love this actor. :D
I love 9 the most as well, but 11 was the first one I ever saw as a child and I remember seeing him as a wonderful sci-fi wizard.
DarthRushy A
It always annoys me that everyone shits on Colin Baker. Even the companions did, in Dimensions in Time at least. "Who are you?" "I'm The Doctor!" "No you're not!" - Ace and Susan.
lol No that's because Susan wouldn't recognize any future regeneration. All she thinks of is the Hartnell incarnation when she thinks of her grandfather. Ace hadn't met any of his previous incarnations so she wouldn't know what 6 looked like.
I personally think that JN-T failed in duty of care towards his script editor Eric Saward, and he should have brought in someone like Terrence Dicks to help relive the burden, as it seemed to be perfectly clear that he wasn't coping all that well by himself.
my doctor is the best, he lives in the tardis in my shirt pocket
He had worn one in his first and second regeneration (Note that when you count regenerations, you take one off of the Doctor's incarnation - the second Doctor is the first regeneration, thought he second incarnation, for example). This time, he fancied a cravat more than a bow tie.
"You can't put me on trial, I'm the President!"
Nice try.
They forgot stealing a Tardis.
He served this punishment in exile. as the third doctor. ;)
@KendrixTermina That is too cruel. Six suffered enough.
Dear Moffat: Please bring back the Valeyard.
“The Partial Enquiry of a Time Lord” just doesn’t have the same ring to it.
All the Doctors are equally fantastic and brilliant in their own way. they are all still the same man.
My Doctor is 11, though. He's becoming more like the first doctor now. and new who is starting to feel like old who.
the valeyard...does the doctor just become judge dredd in the future? (referencing the visit to post-battle trenzilor)
Was so good
@PreTear90 Isn't this his final regeneration where he is in fact the Valeyard? So I would assume that we would have to see this in the new series. Unless he has altered his own time line. Sketchy and another loop whole :(
He originally ran for President in The Deadly Assassin to avoid (or at least delay) the death penalty. He took up the position in The Invasion of Time to flush out the people trying to invade Gallifrey and the in the Five Doctors he was almost strongarmed into office but did a runner instead (although really I think they were trying to get rid of him before he caused any more trouble).
Speaking of TARDIS flying, I wonder what River would think of Six's piloting skills?
This is 'Trial of timelord' which was originally broadcast in 1986.
Trial of a TL was split into 4 parts which where spit into 14 parts.
I'm am pretty certain this is The Mysterious Planet which was Trial of a Timelord One.
im curious to know how they'll deal with the Valeyard at the end of the new seasons ie at the end of Doctor Who...he's supposed to return as a future incarnation of the Doctor right?
2:10
He wasnt joking.
@c0ddlefl0p It was the 8th Doctor who ended The Last Time War in which Gallifrey was destroyed. And that of course led to regeneration and the new series starts soon after that.
Do you have his rage-speech in the freezer from Attack of the Cybermen, per chance?
The Valeyard, Michael Jayston, did a splendid portrayal of the last Russian tsar in 'Nicholas and Alexandra' (1970) and he is also my favourite 'Mr. Rochester' (I have seen 9) in 'Jane Eyre' (BBC's mini-serial 1973). It is hilariously funny to watch him in the Valeyard-costume!
There's loads of classic Who episodes on Daily Motion, even Trial of a Timelord, but I don't think they have the whole season up just yet. But I know I saw this one which is called The Mysterious Planet.
@ReverendSyn No, he counts. They featured him in the new series along with the others. He was in John Smith's Journey of Impossible Things, and when the Eleventh Doctor showed a montage of his incarnations.
time can be rewritten. some moments are set in stone, the good doctor may die and become the valeyard, but if things can be remembered they can come back. lol that's basically just a mish mash of soundbites from the series, but theyl find a way to explain it so the series continues.
@Imafanofyou11 So is Hitler, Elvis and Jacko but they still pop up in archive video footage.
@explorer47422 No "The Inquisitor" was played by Lynda Bellingham.
It should be on CZcams...
@hagganash Actually, it's between his 12th AND FINAL incarnation. Since the Time Lords were destroyed, and by various other means, it's no longer a given that the Doctor only has 13 regenerations. He could have 14, 20, 100...as many as it takes to keep the show on the air as long as it's popular. That said, I'd definitely like to see the Valeyard show up in the next regeneration. Handled properly, it would be a great story.
Peter Capaldi was basically the Valeyard in Season 8 but I don't think Steven Moffat even realised that the way Capaldi treated Clara was similar to the Valeyard gaslighting the Doctor about Peri's death. Seriously, why the hell is Capaldi so popular? I didn't see the Doctor until The Zygon Inversion, 21 episodes after he joined the show.
Right, that was fun...now i'm off out to down a few pints and transgress the first law
@c0ddlefl0p Yup. The War happens somewhere between the movie (which comes after the classics) and the new series. In fact, it was a running gag that he became president of Gallifrey every few seosons, only to run away real fast XD
No, it wasn't that the valeyard was a later regeneration of the doctor, it was that during his 12th - 13th regeneration all the evil inside him also became a form, ie the valeyard
@KendrixTermina I would call that line an example of protesting too much.
@ThomasFuchs7 now that sounds like the doctor. thanks for the info
@SarahB1863 As said in the Matt Smith episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures, the Doctor has 507 regenerations left.
I wonder if the Valeyard is going to come up as a plot point in the current series being he's the Doctor between the 11th and 12th doctors.
The Valeyard was a potential future incarnation who merged with the Keeper of the Matrix, and he is presumably dead with all the others.
@KenoshiAkai Stop! You violated the dress code! Put on a colorful collar or see a stylist!
Mmm. Agreed. I mean, we all love Doctor Who! And the fact that the Doctor changes is what makes it great! Though I do admit I've only really seen 9 and 1...
Exactly.
@ReverendSyn The Valeyard is not a future incarnation of the Doctor. He is the dark potential created during his final regeneration that was extracted from the Matrix by the Time Lords. Yes, I know that I'm a nerd.
Well that's great to know, thanks.
@metaphysik oh ok that makes much more sense. thanks!
No. None of the new who doctors are as fantastic as the original series doctors.
@7Tremere Lest you forget that time is a ball of wibbly wobbly timey wimey.
The new Ace Attorney game looks great.
Quite odd that they replaced Phoenix Wright with that guy in a rainbow coloured coat tho.
It's not a game anymore, it's a live action Ace Attorney
@randomcrazychik me to, i liked how he would actually get mad at people
@MaskedMan66 No, I think he still doesn't care all too much, as he said in the Christmas Special "I wear this [the Bowtie] and I don't care! That's why it's cool!" and the series 6 trailer shows him trying to grab a hat at any possible occassion. River is just a tricky weasel hehe.
he did in a sense, with the dream lord.. they are both projections of the doctor.. i think the valeyard was defeated, if i am not mistaken
yup^^ mine is tom baker the fourth and even tho i'm 20 iv been watching da show since i was four and my first story was destiny of the daleks
You find out that the Valeyard is an 'evil' version of the Doctor somewhere between his 12th and 13th incarnations. The Master is in the last episodes but he's not the Valeyard.
i don't think they can revist this. the time war is still shrouded in mystery bt from what i can tell gallifrey is destroyed at all points in time so the doctor can never go there unless he somehow undones the time war.
ah,yes I was Lord President!
but only for his 5th regenerations!
Since he left his post...
@BellaSnowKitten1991 It's part of his charm. You should listen to some of his audio work. The Doctor proclaims that he has moved from "insufferable" to "mostly bearable."
???? In 1:21 he talked about the valeyard (The name of the doctor) that was unexpected.
I think he always has the same personality traits in each incarnation, they just seem to get 'mixed up'/ some personality traits are more dominant in some incarnations than in others. And the clothes, well, he just doesn't have a sense for thatXD It should have been evident by the time he accidentally picked up a more or less normal outfit (Series 1) and showed the same attitude than he did with the technicolor clothes. He really can't tell the difference XD
@pretear90 yeah i hope they do eventually include him but i have a funny feeling that the valeyard may have started the time war because as of yet the books and audio aren't canon yet and by the way you wouldn't just sit around and do nothing for so many years if you had the power to all the timelords ' technology or brainpower!
Yeah, he should've counted on that whole running away from the presidency coming back to bite him on the butt.
Are we meant to be surprised the man in black who sits in the shadows has a thinly veiled contempt for the Doctor and speaks in grandeleiquent badinage is in fact Mr Evil McBabbad?
Wait till you find out who he actually is!
what year is this? 1984,1985 OR 1986 And the date
If the Doctor had agreed to a court defender, do you think they would have called for 'the Lawyer'?
Knowing his luck he'd either get one of his other selves, the Monk or Drax. Public defending in Gallifreyan Courts is like Jury Service, ANYONE can be summoned to do it even renegades.
Doctor is a timelord troll. "The Brickyard" the "The Junkyard" the "Graveyard" or whatever else! have some resepct, doc!(for even your future self). Or you'll be held in contempt! She should have kicked him into the "blocked" zone before the first match.
Not necessarily - the Valeyard was the potential distillation of all the Doctor's evil, not an actual regeneration.
Anyone else hear Dream Police by Cheap Trick playing in their head while watching this scene?
wait wait wait someone help me here, the Doctor was lord president of galifrey? our Doctor?
Well, he never really wanted to and has always run away. Just the Doctor. xDD
@ReverendSyn the Valeyard was meant to be an entity created somewhere between his twelfth and final regeneration. And was meant to be the personification of the evil in The Doctor. So the doctor won't actually be a bad guy. The Valeyard is sort of like The Dream Lord. I pretty much got all that info off Google. :D
@AMVslowking I disagree, the showing the dark side ones would be:
5.the first doctor
4.the tenth doctor
3.the ninth doctor
2.the sixth doxtor
1.the seventh doctor
You cut out the best shot of the entire series! Just before the TARDIS lands, it is dragged towards the space ship. CGI will never beat it.
@TheCohagen Actually Colin never refused to do the regeneration. Colin was under a 3 year contract, with a year still to go after Trial of a Time Lord. Michael Grade wanted Colin gone and asked him if he would leave. But with a year left on his contract Colin would have been unable to work so he said to Michael and I quote from the man himself, "Give me the whole of the next series and I'll go at the end of it". But Michael refused and decided to continue without Colin. That's the truth.
Fuck Michael Grade. That arsehole can go to hell. He screwed over a Doctor who had incredible potential and for what? Because he's a petty shitbag. Colin made a perfectly reasonable request to finish his contract and considering he's been struggling to find work ever since, I wouldn't be surprised if the BBC has been fucking him over for decades.
Personally I think that if you replaced any Doctor with another Doctor, regardless of the perception of different personas, they could carry off most of the lines of the other Doctor (if that makes sense - it does to me!!!)as the essential Doctorness is present (as far as I can tell) in all the incarnations seen to date
@Adriene14 got offered the title after an emerency election of the high council, exceptet and left with the TARDIS. The 7th and 8th doctors will use the title again.
@ReverendSyn Well, unless something happens to change that future. He could just be the Doctor's possible future, rather than a certain one. Who knows.
He is afraid of getting a public defender. Is this because he was a Gallifreyan "tearaway" Ten bucks he and Koschei vandalized a bridge when they were loomlings, or caused the Tunguska event or some other such noisome childish timelord prank (Read Slash fiction... for tidbits like this)
The valeyard is actually the DOCTOR. Not the master.
the valeyard is a great charture.
the dark side of the doctor.
September 1986. Your welcome :D
@dbvixxen My doctor is your doctor your doctor is my doctor.
not as bad as HIM having to murder his entire species, to save the universe from the Daleks. You see, the events of the previous life effects a Time Lords next life. When the 9th Doctor dies, he does it by finally kissing Rose, thereby saving her life, and lettng go (mostly) of all of that.
Anyways, I wanna know were I can find this Season for free! lol! I'm cheep. but anybody have a copy there willing to upload in it's entirety?
@dbvixxen Yeah, it doesn't matter who's better. No matter which DOctor you like, the Valeyard guarantees that the character will end up a villain. Your favorite Doctor is just as fucked as everyone else's
It doesnt matter how much heroism your Doctor accomplished. It doesnt matter what your Doctor did. The Valeyard is an absolute guarantee of the Doctor's future. And he dies by the feedback from the particle disseminator,
It doesnt matter. Time has told. Your Doctor is doomed, regardless
Well I'm not too sure! It would make sense for them to follow up on it, but they might not and just figure out a way that they won't have to do a "Baddie Doctor" story.
@KendrixTermina At least now we have River Song and Amy preventing him from sticking all too crazy things on his head. Now, I wonder what would've been if Amy and River had ever met Six and Peri XD Poor, poor Six. *six fan*
@doctorwhoinfo Yup, and in the fifth Doctor's time (although I still think they were trying to get rid of him...)
@KenoshiAkai sonicly screwed :P
@emmahouli Not really. It just creates way too many fights among fans.
yeah but in order for the Valeyard to merge with the keeper e had to have existed in "the future past" he came back from the future only to die in the past. The Valeyard could be some sort of regeneration going wrong when for some amount of time he is evil. maybe the doctor's Personalities split in two: evil & good & the Valeyard is sent by the doctor in time & the doctor moves on with his final regeneration.
the invasion of time
