- Texas Governor Greg Abbott toured NRG Arena Monday to examine the 250 beds set up there for Houstonians who’ve been discharged from area hospitals but don’t have a safe place to go after Hurricane Beryl.
I don’t see a future for CenterPoint, ercot, or abbot
A wild climate coming in Texas and next time again lights off no power

I have no faith in Greg Abbot, the man who got a life changing settlement that would make sure he lived a good life after an accident, who then made SURE that nobody in Texas would EVER get a fair settlement from an accident again. Give all that money back Abbot. You're a crook.

I am loving watching our governmental entity's coming together and seeking the solutions out for the benefit of their people. This was not the case during Sylvester Turners time in office. Mayor Whitmire is the best person for the job for Houston and he and Gov. Abbott are kicking butts and taking names later!! I could not agree more with downsizing Centerpoint's territory. More people would be with power by now!
Mayor Whitmire doesn't know what he's done. Mayor Turner was a joke and a spendthrift. However, the mayor we have in Houston sounds good on the mic. He's means no good to people and just took this opportunity because Turner made people sick of his presence.
He's as good at managing a state as he is at jogging.

We should all push for answers from Abbott, the Texas legislature, and EPCOT, as well as CenterPoint's pre- Beryl preparations for disasters such as Beryl! CenterPoint only got away with being unprepared because of the other three entities!

I'm glad they are putting pressure on them but the power always goes out for a week or 2 after a hurricane this is people wanting instant gratification. It's a good thing that Texans are known for having a frontier way of living.
No it does not! 🙋🏾♀️Native houstonian…been through tropical storms worse than beryl…..this is NOT normal. Tree/vegetation maintenance used to be done. Centerpoint is a monopoly with little to no competition anymore. They’ve been allowed to be laissez fair with their practices, and per usual, when it comes to corporate greed….the consumers suffer. And then consumers just roll with it and say “we’ll just prepare better next time”…..like hell man! Stand up for something or you fall for anything. They aren’t doing what WE pay them to do

Yes it is a failure on center point. This was a category one storm, what would happen with a category two, or three or four storm? Category one and the whole city is shut down. That's a failure.
Abbott gave CenterPoint the contract to Texas. He profited from this and now he wants to reduce Center Points contract.
