Some ssr 125s like mine have 3 choke settings on, middle and off. When its dead cold choke is all the way on(up Direction), after it starts up immediately move the choke down to the half setting then after 15 seconds move it to off. Also has 3 settings for fuel off on and reserve.

Thank you! I just got a 2013 piranha 125 and I took it out to a field. I tried for 2 hours and couldn't get it to go into 1st gear (keep in mind this is my first bike), the one time I did get it to go, it popped a wheelie and almost threw me off. Thanks for this video, your a life saver!

This will be useful when i get one of these bikes in about 2 weeks. I was never into this stuff until my neighbors got Honda's. I don't want to spend a lot of money so i looked up some pit bikes and found out that these little bikes are a ton of fun. Also chi town all the way.

when adjusting the carb would you want it opened or closed?
Do you have to pull in the clutch when you want to brake, because if i watch people doing wheelie on other bikes they never oull in the clutch but idk about the ssr.

Im about to get a 140cc pit bike and I heard a lot of riders talking about switching gears without the clutch and only by letting of the throttle and apparently that's one way riders switch gears on a dirt bike. Would it be just as normal on a 140cc pitbike ? I was thinking because it's smaller and stuff maybe the gear box isn't as durable and wouldn't last too long if you switch gears only by letting off the throttle and using no clutch.

Don't forget to say that, every time you apply the breaks for a full stop, you also need to pull the clutch full, otherwise the engine will stall!
And also , do you know anything about the fully automatic ssr's ? Like Bein able to rev it with out it moving ? And do they have gear shifts on them ?
U can't rev them and u can't shift on them

Ok I'm really new to dirt bikes but what happens when your in say 2nd gear and you brake does it automatically downshift or do you downshift manually?

I have a similar bike just semi auto and was wondering if when I shift do I just reach the top speed in 1st gear then let off the throttle then shift up (my bike is 4 up)

I'm used to my quad where first gear is down 1, neutral is half a click up and all other gears after 1 are 1 full click up from one another. Is neutral all the way down a click for this bike?
From what I knew, neutral is all the way on the bottom. N 1 2 3 4
What are pit bike? is that what they're called or is that the manufacturer? if not.. what company makes Pit bikes? sorry I know nothing bout these mini bikes but I'd love to ride one day.

Do you have to always use the choke or only when its cold? And when you shift do you keep on accelerating or do you un accelerate? Please answer
Only use the choke to start the bike when it's cold. Let off the throttle briefly, pull in the clutch, shift and back on the throttle. All this should take place in a mere second. Once you practice, it's just like breathing. :)

Leave the clutch on when you start it but after you start it just turn it off
@ Austin James I got the Black and White helmet from motorcycle superstore. It's a Vega Viper Jungle. It has some sick graphics and was amazingly on $40 !! They don;t have that model anymore but they do have some other cool ones to choose from.
How tall is the seat hight from the ground because i want to get one but think it might be to small 5'6

just wondering I'm probably gonna sound like an idiot but do you down shift on the corners and let go of the accelerator? and if your coming to a stop in third gear do you down shift all the way down to first?
+Jaiden Bradford Downshift before entering a corner and during a normal stop you can downshift as you decelerate to first gear. In a quick or panic stop you would pull in the clutch and apply both front and rear brakes. Once stopped you would then put the bike in first gear.

im new to these bikes so I have a question, when I hold the clutch and change gears and it goes till the 4th gear, do I start going down to the third and second... then go up again?
and do I keep choke and fuel valve on after starting it up?
And when im done do I close the fuel valve?

You can damage the trans or gears and other parts by over revving any vehicle for an extended period of time. So yes.
How do you downshift ?
is a TDR 125 any good because im getting a bike my self and i ride dirt bikes alot but i dont actually own one
The Yamaha TDR 125 is a much better bike than the SSR. It is in a whole different class. It is a dual sport and the SSR is just a pit bike. I would imagine that the TDR 125 would be a great little bike!
