My first experience with a clutch was on my old ttr125 and my dad told me how to shift and just let me give it a go. I had it down in a couple of minutes. Anyone worried about learning, it's easy and you'll get it right away!
FallRider 1997 I got it down now, but my brother told me how to do it for like 2 minutes and when I went to go, I accidentally hit the throttle too hard, shifted, and the bike went flying 😂
Thank u for saying that I want to buy a dirt bike but I wanted it manual so watched this vid and again thank u for saying that😇😇
That's the only vid I've seen that actually explains it
Romansoldier Danny agreed

Probably the best video I have seen about this, out of the millions out there this was the best one. Especially w the audio
Really Good Video Im Currently trying to learn how to shift so this was really good!
Nice tutorial dude👌 Taught me more about shifting now I know not to give it gas when pulling the clutch in. Probably how I broke the transmission of my 2001 ssr 110 I used to have😅
I just got a yz250 and stall out when shifting to first gear cause I wasn’t accelerating enough, but I finally got the hang of it and don’t stall out anymore
Best shifting video I have scene yet! Epic! Thanks Luke
Amazing video. I’m getting my first real dirt bike tomorrow and it has 4 gears and this video is very explanatory considering I had no prior knowledge.
bro thanks so much you actually show how it’s supposed to be and how the bike will react, not to mention the pov 🙏🏽
Getting a Kawasaki kx85 tomorrow. This really helped me cuz I’m scared with the gears😂
Thanks for the tutorial bc this is my first time riding and this helped me out alot good job keep up the good work
Wow thank you sooo much I used to ride a Kawasaki 65 and knew how to shift I forgot how to over the last few years now I have a yz 125
Me and some friends were riding and I asked to ride one of my boys bike. I didn't know how to shift and I nearly blew his motor. Now that I've seen this, I won't look like a fool. Thanks!

@@2vintage it won't be, been watching for a long time and I don't plan on stopping, I love watching the builds!
The onky video on CZcams that shows the actual way to shift. Liked and sub.
Good vid. I saw another gear shifting video where the gentleman mentioned that YOU DO NOT HVAE TO HOLD THE CLUTCH TO SHIFT DOWN. With the exception of SHIFTING FROM NUTRAL TO FIRST GEAR.
That's true
Thanks guys. This helped me a lot!
This really helped me a lot thank you so much
Very Good Tutorial Bro! I wish this video one out when I was learning to ride! 1 bad thing which I do is I don't use the clutch going up in the gears only going down
Thanks a lot! And yeah once you get used to using the clutch all the time it becomes super easy!
Thanks for the help!
Awesome man I'm just starting this helped me a lot
Thanks, I'm super happy it helped you!
Thx your bro is dope. I have brothers as well. Always look out for him homie.
I have a Baja 2007 Dirt bike. Do i always hold the clutch down as i’m going faster and faster? 1 gear to 3. Decent enouhh of speed, then i let go of the clutch? And how do i lower my gears as i’m entering an intersection? Plsss answer
I only know how to drive manual transmission car right now but want to get a dual sport bike to learn on!
On the downshift... let’s say I’m in 4th... coming to a turn and I wanna go down to 3rd gear.. So I pull im the clutch, downshift into 3rd... NOW, do I give it a little gas first then ease out the clutch ?! What happens if I ease out the clutch in 3rd before I give it gas ?!
Thanks I want to try riding my brothers cr125 because I drive a crappy Apollo
really couldn't see it... glad u thought of riding it to show though... so u do have to hold the clutch to downshift?
What is the best way to shift when racing, use clutch going up?
I am looking for dirt bike right now and I'm wondering which one is the best one to get as a starter bike
Been having a motorcycle for years never rode it tomorrow is the day lol
Good lucj

Thank you! This was helpful! (Yes, I'm a noob at bikes...😅😅😅)
Meissoni Setä glad it helped!
When should I shift? Or do I have to shift the bike? I’m new to bikes
So to go into neutral you go down all the gears then go up only HALFway on the lever?
great !!! I just got my kx125 1995 its so powerful I stayed in first the whole time .
yeah they can be pretty intimidating your first ride! You'll get used to it pretty quick!
+2vintage thanks man you're my favorite moto vloger and this helped a lot keep up with the daily uploads .
Thanks a lot! Glad I could help you out!
do a toturial on how to shift back down when starting over on a cr80
Is the kawasaki klx 110 L a good start bike. already know how to use clutch
This helped me so much thanks
I have a question say ur riding in 4th gear you have to stop do you hold in the clutch and the break and click it down 3 times to get into first?
Yes
Yeah you just pull in the clutch and click it down 3 times it’s not like a car where you can go straight into 1st skipping 2nd and 3rd but it’s not a problem
Do you have to use a clutch when downshiftimg on a 4 strokde dirtbike
Do you release the throttle completely when shifting or a little bit. Or not at all
Do u still need to let the clutch out really slow when ur in gear and already riding around to shift
I have a question I wanna get a dirt bike to ride on the trails should I A get a two stroke or B a four stroke
Thanks this helps me alot
thanks for posting this is just got a new xr80r and didn't know how to use clutch. Thank You!
No problem, glad I could help you!
+2vintage do you have to hold the clutch when you start it?
No you don't
+2vintage okay thanks again for teaching me and responding!
+2vintage I subbed btw
I already know how to shift but if I didn't this is a good tutorial I would recommend it
Thanks man!

LMFAO XDDDD 2VINTAGE TEACHING HOW TO SHIFT ON 2 STROKE ROFL I CANT STOP LAUGHING XDDDDD
Samuel Sippola OMG LMAO 😂
Fuck y’all 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Sry for saying that
Do you have to hold in the break
very helpful!
I have a question what bike do you think is good for me I rode a 65 85 100, I was thinking about a 150 or a125 Honda by the way I'm 13
How long should u be in a gear before you shift
tried this blew my engine up in 6 seconds caused a fire that burned my whole city down, liked and subbed
I can't move my fucking ankle in motocross boots
Christian Sagredo 😂
Do u have to hold clutch in while downshifting.and when u downshift do u go down one of restart at gear 1 then make ur way back up?
You don’t have to pull the clutch in to downshift. The clutch frees up the trans and you almost gain momentum. Downshifting without clutch will keep you in touch with the bike and give you a feel for “engine brake”
this man deserves much more than 154k subs get him to 200k
Hey what did u do with the cr80 plz let me now and btw ur vids are sick
Are you suppose to hold the clutch when you down shift
Can't wait to get my first dirt bike I'm 12 I hope this helps me out
I know now but I don’t know when you should do it is it when u go faster move gears up
hey my dudes!! sick vid
Thanks man!!!
Does the downshifting go the same for the yamaha banshee
two stroke in your heart
for sure! lol
Do you have to downshift when you turn
What happens when you stop do you have to shift back down to 1
Guys You don’t need to use the clutch to shift down it’s only for shifting up if u race u should know that but good tip
I ride 4 stroke im getting a 2 stroke just wanted to see if they were any different
I first rode a kx85 2021 for my first 2 stroke and when down shifting i gave throttle like how u would wen riding a ninja or a bigger bike and i almost flew off
Do you ever have to use your clutch when not shifting
I'm using my moms phone bc I have data and Imma be learning dirtbike
I'm 13 btw
Loretta Love k
No one cares
Who asked?
Are u Khalid
I'm a beginner too I'm also 13!
Bro what size sprockets you got on the cr125, loving the vids
52 on the rear
I'm running a 53 rear and 13 front ✊💨
I never use clutch when down shifting, is that bad?
Awesome !!!
Thanks!
+2vintage this really helped me out !!
awesome!
Thank you SOO much
My first experience driving the bike up a set of steps (outside), scrapped my leg.
Do i let go of the gas when changing gear
I just want to know how do you know when it’s time to shift and if you need to shift up or down. I keep killing the engine and fly through the gears 🤔
Shifting up
When you're not getting more power from the current gear then shift up.
When the engine is reving high and making a louder n louder sound shift up.
Down shifting
Shift down when slowing down. The more you slow down the more you shift down. For starters just go from 3 to 2 gear then back up to 3 n reeat to get familiar with down shifting.
Don't down shift to quickly cos the bike will jerk you n you can potentially lock the rear wheel up.
Thinking about getting a Honda CR 125 myself :P
Do it! They are awesome bikes!
wat happens when u down sift from gear 4 what do u do next?
Ima be getting a cr85 for my first bike I'm so nervous 😩
Michael Whalen just take it slow and get used to the bike! Once you feel comfortable on it you can have a little more fun with it! They are sweet bikes!
Michael Whalen my first bike is a rm125 two stroke I'm so scared
Michael Whalen I bought a 150cc bike yesterday as my first bike and I was really nervous but it's actually pretty easy. Just get used to it first before you do anything else
Michael Whalen lucky want one so bad but cant afford one
my first one will be a Kx 85
Do you haft to shift down once to get into first gear on every dirt bike?
Cade Machen yep bro
are u supposed to shift the same way on all bikes
At leats somone taught me where neutral is thank you
Im I supposed to give it more gas before letting off the clutch? Doesn't that worn out the clutch? Asking, because that's a big nono to do while driving a car.
What happens when you change gears without using the clutch?
Zyrx it wears out the gears
2vintage Could you make a tutorial about how to clutch up wheelie?
Ahah i didnt know you would be here!?!? ahah
Great video
That’s how you make a bike last 5 months
Can I stay on any high gear when approaching a intersection, or do I have to down shift. Also, can I just hold the clutch down while I'm stopped at a intersection on a high gear.
I have had this same question
Cameron Loeffel when you stop you can pull in the clutch. Wear as you can start in a higher gear than first it’s a lot harder on your clutch because you have rev it higher when letting the clutch out. Clutch plates are cheap tho.
Down down down up up up
No stay in 2/3 if your at a stop, not good to stop on a high gear
I’m a new rider but I tend to down shift as I’m coming up on a stop sign and then shift back up a little after or while I’m turning
what is the timeing on the shift
what's a good cc to start with? not for kids bike but adult?
125 2 stroke or 250 4 stroke
do you need to pull in the clutch then get started or do you not have to pull in the clutch to kick-start it
You don't need to pull in the clutch to start the bike because the bike is in neutral.
K
only when the bike is in gear u need to hold in the clutch to start
what is a big wheel dirt bike and whats the difference between a big wheel and a regular dirtbike
Keith James big wheels is it has bigger wheel s dip shit it's capton obvious
Good vid bro !!
Thanks!
*_How many CC-s does a Dirt Bike need to move around a 100KG guy like me please Answear?_*
To you stop giving it gas when you pull in the clutch and shift 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th?
George Kasparyan yes
so what do you do when your going fast and you have to down shift fast to slow down
Hold in the clutch
what would happen if you never shift gears?
Thanks helped out a lot!!! But I really don’t understand the neutral part
Exo Noodles the neutral is simple, all you have to do is while in first gear, you have to pull it up halfway between first and second gear
I've had my yz 85 for 5 months now and rode it 24/7 everyday with normal oil changes and everything, but I've never had a problem with the carb, it's never gummed up or anything for 5 months lol? Is that good or bad?
That's good!
+2vintage Yeet
I dont use clutch for shifting a dirtbike, but thats really a personal preference.maybe you should show how to check if the bike is in neutral by rocking it back and forward, butits very good you showed how to shift from all angles.
Thanks! Yeah I don't get why they would put a clutch on the bike if you didn't need to use it. I like to use it because I think it helps preserve the gears.
i use it to stop and to start moving, but actually i was playing with gearbox and figured out that when you pull in the clutch, sprockets dont actually stop moving, thats why chain gets tight when you put the bike in gear, so its not getting worse with sprockets if you dont use clutch, except when you dont let out the throttle, but the clutch lasts longer if you dont use it so often.my cousin raced and he never shifts with clutch, thats why i dont do it too.
