The truth is they are awesome. Its not always about how fast and how much you can lean. The wind in your balls is the same wind. People like me with chronic back issues can still get that wind. And it's a cool alternative for others. Each to his own

I am a Can-am ryder..I have the 2016 RT Ltd touring version....not sure what they are asking for this unit....but before you buy a used one of this "vintage" with the older 998 two cylinder engine ( and the issues they had) .....take a look at the new can-am Ryker..they have two versions..a 600 cc twin, water cooler with a CVT trans for around $8500..or a 900 cc triple with the semi-auto trans for around $10,000
My wife has the 2009 Phantom model. She loves it and has put thousands of miles on it. She always gets a lot of attention when she rides it.
That's the old, venerable, powerful Aprilia V60 engine. Nice too see it still alive and kickin on the Can-Am .
As a guy who rides Atc three wheelers I see why this is so much safer from roll overs by having the two wheels in front so when you slow down in a turn it won’t flip nearly so easily.
And... you won’t lay it down if you hit a bunch of slimy autumn leaves on wet pavement. (Speaking from experience.)

I have a 2011 Can Am Spyder RSS 990 too. I have been able to get one of the front wheels off the ground to get it up on only 2 wheels.
The whole point for me was semi auto meant no more broken cables in traffic, I rode a manual RT and it was dreadful on a personal level, coming from 22 years of riding high performance bikes, I gotta say, my semi auto box is a breath of fresh air :-)

I've watched about all of Shawn's videos on the Spyders and they are great, but it drives me nuts when he calls them automatic! They are considered "semi-automatic" and have a similar transmission technology as some of the Honda electric-shift ATVs. You DO have to shift them, but it is electronic with no clutch. The Rykers, however, are fully automatic.
They also feel extremely similar to driving an ATV. It surprises me that he never mentions this and always compares them to a car. Take a quad, throw a motorcycle accelerator on it, and it feels the same as a Spyder.

Hey I have a question I put some bigger rims on the front and lift the back stock name my traction control light is coming on do you know how to bypass that or what you have to do to the front sensors are the back sensor

I’m a fat old guy who can’t seem to grow up. Yeah, I’m on a kinda heavy sport-tourer, (< tiny photo to left) but I bumped it to 160 RWHP !!😎. I’m intrigued by these reverse trikes for when I’m too old to hold up 2 wheels. I’ll be really impressed when I see a video of one with both front wheels trying to claw at the sky !! 😳🤪

But I'm curious to why you use the clutch for upshifting after you are moving?
The only purpose for that is if you are wanting to skip gears.
I was taught by an old school biker how to ride a Street Bike almost 50 years ago and have never used a clutch like that.
I don't drive a manual 18wheeler like that either!! 😆 🤣

I have been ridding 2 wheel motorcycles for about 35 years. My 1sr bike was a Cushman Scooter that was bigger than me, LOL! Loved it. We lived on a dead end block in an unincorporated area. Can’t ever remember seeing any cops in our hood. The entire block was family or friends of family since my Mom was a kid!! Dead end unincorporated street that was all family. Nobody ever had to lock there doors. It was perfect! My Moms brother-in-law was a farmer that was also a home builder that built the entire block for our family and friends. My Mom use to say if it wasn’t for him we all probably couldn’t afford homes, however he made it happen! Thanks uncle Orville! He and his wife were killed in a head on accident in the 60’s leaving behind 8 kids!! All of them war adopted by others in the family and the youngest is now in his early 60’s. I had a major stroke about 4 years ago and luckily my only issue from that occurrence is my balance is not the same, so I’m looking at one of these Can Am’s. Seems like the perfect Soulitions to my issue. My wife of 35 years don’t want to ride on a bike with me anymore due to my balance issues, however this might be a cure for her reluctance to want to ride with me. We use to ride a lot! Got some more reach to do on these but so far I like what in finding out about them. Are they shaft driven? Are the motors pretty bulletproof? What is the up keep cost like? And input would be appreciated!

I have, Bob is excellent!! Might pull the trigger on this baby this year. So far I think the F-3S is the one for me. This year (2021) they have a nice gray with the orange-ish red-ish frame that looks pretty nice. Still don’t like the price but nice things are usually expensive.

Spyder is Spyder. Ryker is Ryker. They are not at all the same but are both built by Can-Am🤣

Most people want the can am because of the simplicity of not having a clutch this is stupid, why complicate something simple and the automatic still beats a clutch, a clutch will always have human error and response time!
Pretty natural for snowmobile riders.
I'll trade my stock exhaust for this one lol

I in no way want to divert business from SRK but if he likes the Spyder he should also look at the new Ryker. More of a base model at a lower price point compared to Spyder. Has its pros and cons but I always figure it is good to look at the full picture.
Michael Jackson oh I agree. The only deterrent so far is the fact that is automatic. But I’m super curious to see what they do with it and see as more comes out about it such as first rides. Myself, I prefer two wheels but I get the main selling points for these bikes and they’re doing a great job with it by introducing the Ryker

I dig the sport type & the Spyder F3 to be specific but their price points are too steep for me. When I saw the new ad + the custom aspects I went bananas. In a way everyone won't have the same color panels w/the Ryker either because Canam will rotate the color availability. I LOVE how Canam realized that some people are not making an assload of money but STILL want some Canam 3 wheel reverse trike fun in their lives. Not tryna comment ya to death, just think it's cool that someone else thinks that the Ryker is awesome as well. Dude I hope you have a friggn blast on that test ride, you should film it !
Iam excited too can't wait I've had about a dozen bikes ZX-14 CBR1000 ZX9 ZX-11 so forth and I've always wanted a trike or T-rex or something like that but when I saw the Ryker I just something about it price point and even the 900 Ace is only 9999 which is reasonable and I can't wait I think it's way better looking in the spider I'm not a fan of the spider I think the spiders just too big and bulky this thing is just I don't know what it is and they're trying to appeal to a younger crowd I think it'll be all ages I'm almost 42 hopefully Can-Am knocks it out of the ballpark

Wow you ARE a bike rider, that's awesome in itself as a hobby/skill/trait. I've only had 1 motorcylce experience in my life. A few years back, on leave I went home to visit and learned that my sister was on bikes now, a Suzuki GSX-R 1000 and she knew how to ride that dang thang ! She scared the shit out of me on the highway. A Mustang tried her and that bike beat the shit out the Mustang w/me on the back, going triple digits at that! OMG I had to use the rr soooooo bad when she stopped,lol. Comparing the Spyder against the Ryker, you're right my guy, the Spyder does have way more bulk going on and just seems big overall. Being a Floridian I see tons of and know plenty of bikers and for some crazy reason this doggone Canam thing just has my attention period. I don't care who doesn't like it. I think I'm in reverse trike love,lol.

My lady was like why drool over the F3 when for that price point we could snag 2 Rykers, instead of taking turns on an F3, and ride by ourselves. Man my lady even has me more comfy w/the idea of ownership. She secured her spot in my life 4eva w/that idea,lol. I'm in the early 40s club and we deserve sum fun too, ha ha. I looked at the Venom , the T-Rexx, Morgan 3 wheeler, the Slingshot and GG Streetquad which are all cool BUUUUT I refuse to chug all my coins at fun. The Ryker has the lowest price point of all so for me it's an easy choice.

I find it really easy to handle. You might have to slow down in some hairpin corners compared to a four wheeler.

I have a white one. I'm a combat wounded veteran so I cannot ride a two-wheeler. I have had it for about 3 years now and it still turns heads everywhere I go. People always want to walk up and talk to me which is annoying sometimes because I get that a lot anyway being an amputee.
More stability, no kickstand, safer, etc

When these things came out, I was like: "The physics don't work" ...there's all this weight in the front being pushed by a wheel in the back, so it puts more wear & tear on the engine. Now I understand the dynamics of business and therefore one should expect a most-anything to be obsolete in a a few years. But this is just painfully obvious, that will require countless repairs, and end-up deeply scarring one's wallet.
The physics are the front suspension, and tires does the work, not the engine or any other parts and not more than a car or a quad.
Dudes riding a ladies bike. Get rid of a wheel and maybe we will give your man card back.
2 wheels are for broke people. Most people buy used bikes. Get your funds right and then you get a man card
