As muslims is important we are honest and brother Mohammed hijab displayed and defended Islam in a beautiful manner in my opinion. He conveyed to an audience that mostly hasn’t heard the message truly before. I know brothers mentioned he should have mentioned tawheed more, please take in consideration the hikam needed in dawah. To speak on a level appropriate and in a way that is understandable to those receiving the dawah is highly important. Dr Jordan Peterson speaks in a certain Language that would need to be matched and I think brother Mohammed hijab not only spoke in that language but showed Islam isn’t afraid to and can answer any question no matter how or in what frame work it’s ask. Brother Mohammed hijab is a human like us with limitations and flaws but Alhamdulilah he presented Islam in my eyes Well.

To appreciate M.Hijab, We need to understand the topic at hand and the methodology of the discourse which is not only philosophical, historical, theological but logical in nature. The manner to which Islam should be communicated to person like JP is entirely different from others. Philosophers reason different and are more empirical in their reasoning.
M.Hijab was absolutely the best for this task!

I think Mohammed hijab did really well. He did talk about the basics of islam. This topic of islam in the end always ends up in this discussion of war. you should've given him credit for that, because if you were in his place you know this discussion would head that way.
The premise that initiated this whole podcast/discussion was based on a remark of JP stating that our Prophet pbuh was a warlord. So naturally it would go that way. Brother Saajid should've given a bit more credit to brother Hijab. He even surprised me of how composed and patient he was during the discussion. It even resulted in several withdrawals of certain statements that JP has made.

But May Allah reward Hijab for giving Da’wah for Islam. May Allah guide him.
@@SonoftheFortunate Brother, that was not Hijab's decision to make. It was Petersons podcast, how could Hijab just randomly invite someone else onto it?
Mohammed Hijab did a very good job answering most of Jordan questions. My attention was more on the question on why has Islamic nations not able to resolve their civil conflict? Mohammed pointed out that the prophet had predicted such conflicts but I was hoping he had expanded on it with the prophet predicting that Islam will be divided into many sects which is an indication of end times. Also, this process of event is inevitable being that Islam has given the laid down foundation to resolve such conflicts but other factors such as arrogance and pride, limited understanding and so on depending on which has stronger influence on each individuals will play a significant role.
Also, Jordan asked Mohammed that as a traditional muslim, wot garrantee that he doesn't impose is shortcoming (authoritatively) as an individual based on his limited understanding on other people (I.e family) in the name of religion? This question was very technical but I assure u is answerable. First of all, the Quran has made it clear that the truth is clear from falsehood. And the ones that is in-between (not clear) is better to be left alone. And this need to be done with being truthful to oneself. The prophet urge us to learn, read, seek for knowledge and endeavor to overcome our shortcomings. All this efforts we have been made to understand by the prophet have there own rewards. The further u break ur limitations the more ur rewards increases. These are motivators that allows limited us to strive in becoming better which will invariably bring about better judgement. Just as we all know that stealing is wrong, it is only normal to be assertive and firm to change a family member that takes robbery as a career.

18:13 The title and the introduction of Jordan Peterson's video make sense because he and most of his audience believe Islam to be a religion of war. If one discussion with one Muslim leads them to believe otherwise (in the possibility that Islam is peaceful), that's progress.
Absolutely agreed. Break down the walls first, before you build bridges. Which in my opinion brother Hijab did beautifully.

I was so surprised when JP said he didn't grasp Islam. Truly jaw dropping because as you said its so simple but we should learn from that comment and emphasize how it's not a new religion. I feel people don't understand this. And I like to tell people the story of Adam and his children and how shaytan whispered to them and deviated humans (polytheism and different paths came about turning into deviant religions) and thats kinda where we are at today. Explain all prophets sent and encourage them to read the stories. Explain how Muhammed (peace be upon him) is the final Prophet in a long line from Adam and that the Quran is a miracle on earth because it's God's speech and guidance preserved (encourage them to read it) And remind people that we are now at the end of time where problems/corruption are predicted. This is our test living in this time and even atheism is something new. Explain to them about the jinn too. The fitnah in muslim lands is predicted, in fact it will get worse before Mahdi comes. I was actually looking forward to your response and think it's a good addition to the podcast. Although I thought it was an overall interesting discussion it should have, in my humble opinion, been more focussed on belief and the core fundamentals/basis of Islam. Wa Allahu alam.
My thoughts exactly, hijab should of kept the message very simple and not delve into the philosophical arguments/aspect, as these type of arguments tend to have so much words without real substance.
Never the less, br.hijab did a nice job through the podcast and laying the foundations of islam.
But i would of loved to hear JP talk to someone like chikh uthman or Shamsi.
@Ali Chaudhry I agree with a lot with what you said but i disagree about the part where you mentioned philosophy and religion, there are countless arguments that you can take from the quran that speak directly to the intellect and engage your brain without having to use philosophical jargon, the prophet pbuh is the example to follow on how to do dawah, philosophy did exist at his time and if he saw any good in it he would of called towards god using arguments from greek philosophers.
There are many leeways and counters to almost every philosophical argument, we have the word of god with us, so we should stick to that, you’d be surprised how much people (however intelligent they may be) love simple and direct explanations that speak to everybody.
@Ali Chaudhry Exactly! I would recommend to watch a couple videos that brother shamsi or shamsi’s teacher made on M.hijab concerning problems when using philosophy to do dawah and Insha’Allah you’ll see what i saw.
I used to follow brother hijab a lot but now i don’t, anyway, now is not the time to criticise my brother may Allah guide him and guide us as we’re all bound to make mistakes. Have a nice day Ali :)

It's easy to go back and answer questions on a recorded video but what would be interesting is how you would really answer when put on the spot on a live reel. Muhammad Hijab is an highly articulate intellect and he did very well. Although it's nice to see this response but it should be a reaction to the original podcast not literal responses as that's unfair.

I don't think sajid is implying that what he's saying is what mohammad hijab should have said or that his words are better. Hijab did a very good job being put on the spot. But Sajid is just making a commentary on it, adding anything he thinks may benefit us viewers. We should have good thoughts about our brothers and sisters, you've put a negative spin on an otherwise beneficial video.

Asalaamu alaykum,
I am really trying to guide some of my friends and wish to see Inshaallah a semi short video i can pass on to them regarding things to us that are absolutely not important. Example: why no b days, why no other holidays, why more than one wife, why hijab. Unfortunately this is the stuff that they want to know first, but without love of the religion first, its hard to explain this stuff. Sorry for the long post. Love u all for the sake of Allah.
Wa alaykum salam.
I'm no scholar or anything but I would suggest focusing your conversations with your friends on monotheism and belief in prophet Muhammad.
B days and other holidays are not really a major part of the religion. Ultimately, Muslims follow the guidance of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and it is he who has informed us that there are 2 eids or days of celebration and these should be sufficient for us.
Birthdays is a bit of a grey area.
Hijab is ordained for women and men to protect their modesty. Hijab is also for men in that they should also maintain modesty and not wear skinny jeans or tank tops.

@@comicbookguy1 just a bit of additional informations where it's the best action of Us to avoid the grey area/matters such as B Days ,since there is a Hadith mentioning that the grey matters tend to bring to something Haram where the Border between The Halal and Haram is already clear (and when one took the grey matters to one's own perspective he might got lost) , i kinda forget the source of the hadith but it's definitely not a dhaif Hadith and talking about Syubhat/doubts/Grey Matters
